Chapter 207 I Don't Love You Anymore
Facing Sharon's cold stare, any explanation felt pointless.
Seb lowered his gaze and said, "Don't worry about it. I'll handle it."
"I don't care. I'm quitting."
A flash of anger crossed Seb's eyes. "Sharon, I told you, I won't let you resign."
"You're not my boss, and you can't control my life. I'm just giving you a heads-up to find my replacement, not asking for your permission."
The room went silent, tension thick in the air.
After a while, Seb's rough voice broke the silence, "Do you hate me so much you'd rather quit than stay at Silvercrest Group?"
Sharon frowned. She did want to avoid Seb, but she also needed time to study for grad school. Work would be too distracting.
But she didn't feel like explaining that to Seb.
"If you know that, why force me to stay?"
Sharon's face was calm, but Seb felt a storm brewing inside him, his gaze darkening.
After Seb left, Sophie walked in.
Seeing Sharon's calm face, Sophie sighed in relief.
"When Seb left, he looked upset. I thought you two fought."
Sharon shook her head. "No point in arguing."
"True."
Seb had just returned to Silvercrest Group when he saw a bunch of reporters outside and frowned.
He called Paul and said coldly, "Didn't I tell you to get rid of the reporters?"
"Mr. Smith, we did our best, but they won't leave."
"Then call the police."
Seb hung up, thinking about Sharon wanting to cut ties. He called Grace, his face dark.
The phone rang for a while before Grace answered.
"Seb, what's up?"
Grace's voice was hoarse, with a hint of guilt, but Seb, irritated, didn't notice.
"Are you free this afternoon? Let's meet."
"Sure, where? Your office or...?"
"I'll have my secretary book a place and send you the address."
"Okay."
Seb hung up without another word.
Meanwhile, in a bar's private room.
Grace sighed in relief after hanging up.
She was completely naked, her skin marked from the night before. Clothes were scattered everywhere.
As soon as she put down her phone, a strong hand gripped her waist, making her shiver.
Victor rested his chin on her shoulder and asked, "When are you breaking up with Seb?"
Grace pushed his hand away and frowned.
"When did I say I was breaking up with him?"
Her eyes were cold, and Victor's heart sank, his face turning pale.
"We've already slept together, and you still won't break up with Seb?"
Victor thought Grace would be with him after last night. He didn't expect she never planned to leave Seb.
"What do you mean? If you don't plan to break up, then what was last night about?"
"Last night was a mistake. Let's forget it happened. Besides, Seb is your friend. If he finds out, it'll ruin your friendship."
"Forget it? Do you think that's possible?"
Victor grabbed Grace's hand, saying, "Seb doesn't care about you anymore. When will you see that?"
Grace slapped Victor, her eyes blazing. "That's between him and me. It's not your place to judge!"
Victor laughed bitterly. "Fine, have it your way!"
He quickly dressed and stormed out, slamming the door.
After he left, Grace's tense expression relaxed.
As long as Victor didn't tell Seb, Seb would never know.
Now, she needed to get rid of Sharon and make Seb fall for her again.
At three in the afternoon, Grace walked into the private room.
Seb looked at her calmly. "Sit down."
Noticing Seb's cold attitude, Grace's heart tightened. 'Did he find out about last night?'
No, if he knew, he wouldn't have asked to meet here.
Besides, at last night's auction, Seb gave the jewelry to Sharon right in front of her. He should feel guilty!
Thinking this, Grace calmed down.
She sat across from Seb, putting on a cold expression. "Did you ask me here to apologize for last night?"
If Seb apologized, she wouldn't let him off easily.
"Sort of."
Grace snorted. "You embarrassed me last night, and you think a simple apology will fix it?"
Seb looked at Grace. The woman who once made his heart flutter now left him unmoved.
"Last night did embarrass you, and I'm sorry. But I have something else to say."
"What is it?"
"Let's break up. I'll find another way to repay you for saving my life."
Grace was stunned. It took her a few seconds to understand.
Anger flared in her eyes. "You embarrassed me last night, and now you're breaking up with me? Seb, what do you take me for?"
"Three months is too long. I don't want Sharon to be misunderstood, and I don't want to hurt her anymore."
Grace cursed silently, 'Sharon! It's always Sharon! Why doesn't she just disappear!'
If it weren't for Sharon, Seb wouldn't have fallen for someone else, and she wouldn't have had to use her life-saving grace to get Seb back.
"You don't want to hurt her, so you come to hurt me? I have less than three months to live, Seb. Don't you think you're being too cruel? You and Sharon have a lifetime ahead of you."
Seb looked at Grace. Even her tears didn't move him.
"Grace, I don't love you anymore. Keeping me by your side for three months is pointless."
