Chapter 138 Can Divorce Free Me from Him?
Sharon's eyes went wide in shock.
'Is Seb nuts?' she thought, 'Last time, he kissed me in private, and now he's doing it in public. If someone saw, who knew what could happen.'
Sharon tried to push Seb away, but he was like a brick wall.
"Uncle Seb, let go."
Seb pressed closer, eyes flashing with anger.
First, Sharon let David kidnap her without telling him, and now she wanted to push him away.
Seb thought, 'No way!'
Seeing Seb wouldn't let go, Sharon got mad and bit his lip hard.
Seb let go, sneering, "What are you, a dog?"
"What does it matter to you? Don't forget, I'm Alex's wife!"
Seb raised an eyebrow, "You sent Alex's dad to jail. Think he'll still be your husband?"
"That's none of your business. If you don't let go, I'll call for help."
Seeing Sharon's angry face, Seb leaned in close, their lips almost touching.
Sharon's breath hitched, "What are you doing?"
"Go ahead, call for help. By tomorrow, everyone will know."
Seb didn't take her threat seriously. Sharon turned her head coldly. "Don't forget, David is Alex's dad and your big brother. Is it right to be with the woman who sent your brother to the police?"
Seb chuckled, "You can't provoke me. You've angered the whole Smith family. The only way to avoid revenge is to be with me."
Sharon looked at him sharply. "Do you know what you're saying?"
She sent David to the police, and Seb still wanted to be with her?
"Think it over and give me an answer."
Sharon frowned. "No need to think. I won't agree. I don't want any more ties with the Smith family."
If they knew she was with Seb, they'd never let her go, and she didn't want to provoke Seb either.
"No rush, I have plenty of patience."
Sharon looked up at Seb, expressionless.
"Uncle Seb, there are plenty of women who want you. Why won't you let me go?"
"Because none of them are you."
The seriousness in Seb's eyes made Sharon look away.
She couldn't handle Seb's feelings or the heartbreak.
"I'm nothing special, and I'm still married to Alex. Even if we divorce, I can't be with you because I don't like you."
Seb's eyes darkened. "It's okay if you don't like me now. You will eventually."
Just as Sharon was about to retort, Seb let go.
"It's late. Go back. Contact me when you've decided."
Sharon lowered her eyes and didn't argue.
As long as she didn't accept, Seb couldn't force her.
Feeling relieved, Sharon quickly walked away without saying goodbye.
Watching her leave, Seb's lips curled into a smile, eyes narrowing dangerously.
Back home, Sharon's racing heart finally calmed down.
When Seb suggested they be together, Sharon was briefly tempted but quickly came to her senses.
She and Seb were from different worlds. His interest in her was just a phase; he'd eventually get bored.
Better not to start something that would end in abandonment.
She wasn't a naive teenager who thought Seb would marry her.
With his background, he'd marry someone of equal status.
She didn't want to be labeled a seductress or face another heartbreak.
Suppressing her feelings, Sharon grabbed her clothes and headed to the shower.
After washing up, just as she was about to sleep, her phone rang.
Seeing it was Alex, she hesitated but answered.
"Sharon, did you call the police and have Dad arrested?" Alex sounded shocked, like she'd committed an unforgivable crime.
Sharon chuckled, eyes flashing with sarcasm. "Yes."
"Why? You know Dad only did that to get that document, not to harm you!"
"I'm amazed you can say that with a straight face. Are you sure he didn't want me dead?"
If Brian hadn't found out about David's plan, she might be dead at the bottom of a cliff.
"Of course not. You're my wife, his daughter-in-law. And I became disabled saving you. For my sake, can you get Dad released?"
"But your legs aren't actually disabled. How about you break them, and then I'll consider it?"
There was a pause before Alex's disappointed voice came through. "Sharon, I saved you and now you doubt me. I'm starting to regret it."
Sharon sneered and decided to lay it all out.
"Stop pretending. The car accident at the Vital Records Office was your and David's plan. David kidnapped me because I wouldn't delete the evidence. You decided to kill me to silence me."
"Don't deny it. If I can say this, I have proof. If you don't want to join David in jail, meet me at the Vital Records Office tomorrow for a divorce."
"And this time, no excuses!"
She hung up without caring about Alex's reaction.
Alex was furious, wanting to smash his phone. His face darkened, and a terrifying aura surrounded him.
He hadn't expected Sharon to know everything.
Alex thought, 'Have I been a joke to her all this time?'
Ava, beside him, was startled by his expression. She trembled and asked, "Alex, is Sharon refusing to let your father go?"
"Get out!"
Ava turned pale and quickly left, scared of the Alex's presence.
Once alone, Alex burst into laughter.
His eyes were bloodshot, and he crushed his phone screen.
Alex thought, 'All these years, I never truly knew Sharon. But now, it's not too late.'
Divorce? Sharon thought she could escape him through divorce?
Sharon had caused Alex so much pain; he wouldn't let her go.
Alex was determined to make Sharon suffer just as much as he did!
