Chapter 81 Throw Away Everything He Gave You

Sharon was curled up in the corner with her eyes closed, face flushed unnaturally with her body trembling uncontrollably. Seeing this, Seb's eyes turned cold.

He was about to stride toward her when Alex suddenly pushed him aside, taking three steps in two to reach her, scooping her up and carrying her out.

Seeing Sharon had fallen into a coma, Sandra frowned.

She only intended to lock Sharon up for a night to teach her a lesson, not expecting things to escalate like this.

Alex was angry but didn't dare to lash out at Sandra, so he said in a steady voice, "Grandma, I'll take Sharon to the hospital first."

Without waiting for Sandra's reply, he quickly left with Sharon in his arms.

Watching his retreating figure, Seb's hand at his side clenched tightly as his eyes slightly reddened.

Sandra looked at Seb and said, "Seb, did I go too far?"

Seeing Sharon's sickly appearance, she felt a bit uncomfortable inside.

Seb's expression was indifferent. "What do you think? This wasn't her fault, yet you punished her this way just because she has no one to back her up. Mom, don't you think this is too unfair to her?"

Sandra was rendered speechless. After some silence, she said, "But this whole thing started because of her. If she hadn't forced Emily to kneel, Smith Group wouldn't have lost billions of dollars."

Seb sneered, "Isn't she allowed to fight back when people frame her? Besides, I was the one who forced Emily to kneel; not her. If you need to take it out on someone, I'll stay here tonight."

Hearing this, Sandra's face changed as she sternly said, "No, your health isn't good. If you stay here for a night..."

Seeing his mocking look, she fell silent.

"Mom, she's also part of the Smiths. Moreover, if Emily dared to scheme against her at the banquet, she might also have had some intentions of provoking the Smiths. Young group has been secretly contacting our rival companies for a while. Even without last night's incident, they would've found another reason to cancel the contract with us soon," after saying this, Seb turned and left.

Sandra sighed and said to the servant beside her, "Send some supplements to Sharon tomorrow."

This time, she indeed went a bit too far.

When Sharon woke up again, she found herself in the hospital, a look of surprise in her eyes.

Turning her head, she saw Alex sleeping by the bedside, and she felt mixed emotions.

It seemed that he later realized something was wrong, found out she went to the Smith mansion, and rescued her from there.

She gently got up, intending to go to the bathroom, but she still woke Alex up.

Seeing her awake, his expression cleared as he quickly asked, "Are you still feeling unwell anywhere?"

"Except for a bit of dizziness, I'm fine."

Hearing this, he sighed in relief. Seeing her trying to get out of bed, he got up to help her, but she avoided him.

"No need; I can do it myself." her attitude was distant and cold, as if he wasn't her husband but a stranger.

Alex retracted his hand, which was frozen in mid-air. He said in a low voice, "I'll go get you some breakfast."

After saying that, he turned and quickly left the ward.

When Alex returned, Sharon was already back in bed, looking down as if messaging someone.

Hearing footsteps, she put away her phone and looked at Alex. "Thank you for bringing me to the hospital. I'm fine now, so you can go to work. I'll go back by myself later."

Alex remained silent, setting up the small table attached to the hospital bed and placing the breakfast on it.

"Eat your breakfast." His voice was somewhat cold and hard, clearly angry because of her indifference.

She said, "I'm not hungry right now; I'll eat later. You can go to work."

The anger he suppressed since earlier finally erupted. He looked at her coldly, his tone questioning. "Is it that you can't eat, or that you lose your appetite when you see me?"

Sharon frowned. "I didn't mean that."

"I think you did. Last night, Grandma asked you to go to the Smith mansion. Why did you lie and say you were having dinner with colleagues?"

If he hadn't sensed something was wrong and called Sophie, he might still not know she had lied to him.

She lowered her eyes, her expression calm. "I was just afraid you'd worry."

Alex sneered, "Sharon, don't treat me like a fool. Are you afraid I'd worry, or are you worried about involving Seb?"

She took a deep breath, her gaze turning cold. "Alex, can you stop being unreasonable?"

"Am I being unreasonable, or are you feeling guilty?" he grabbed her chin, leaning in close as he spoke each word clearly, "Sharon, if you have any thoughts about Uncle Seb, I suggest you stop now. Do you think the Smiths would let him marry a divorced woman who was once his niece-in-law?"

They were so close that she could see the mockery and disdain in his eyes, as if he was laughing at her wishful thinking.

She angrily pushed his hand away, looking at him coldly. "Don't worry; I know my place. I won't have any improper thoughts about him!"

Seeing her anger, he suddenly smiled. "That's good. But I still want to remind you, don't play with fire."

"Since you've reminded me, can you leave now? I don't want to see your face!"

She had disgusted eyes. Alex felt a sharp pain in his heart, making it hard to breathe.

He said, "That's too bad. You'll have to see it for the rest of your life."

She didn't want to engage with him any further, turning away coldly without another word.

He added, "Remember to eat your breakfast. It won't be good for your stomach if it gets cold."

Seeing her cold look, he didn't say anything else and left.

As he opened the ward door, he saw Seb standing at the entrance with an unreadable look.

It seemed Seb had heard his conversation with Sharon earlier.

Alex smiled slightly. "Uncle Seb, Sharon will be discharged this afternoon. You can go back now."

Seb gave him a cold look and said to Paul beside him, "Give him the stuff."

Paul handed the supplements and flowers to Alex. "Mr. Alex, these are a little something from Mr. Seb."

Alex smiled as he took them, then opened the ward door and walked toward Sharon.

He said, "Sharon, these are supplements and flowers from Uncle Seb. See how considerate he is, coming to see you first thing in the morning. Anyone who doesn't know might think you two are close!"

Sharon showed no reaction to his sarcastic tone.

Alex's grip on the flowers tightened unconsciously. He walked to Sharon's bedside, leaning close to her ear and whispering so only they could hear, "Sharon, didn't you say you wouldn't have any improper thoughts about Uncle Seb? Now is your chance to prove it. Throw away everything he gave you in front of him, and I'll believe you."

Sharon's hand clenched tightly around the bed sheet, her already pale face turning even whiter.

Seeing her not move, Alex smiled slightly, but his eyes were full of coldness. "Don't you want to?"
