Chapter 545 Who Wouldn't Be Cautious?

Damon's face darkened, and he let out a cold laugh. "Mr. Smith, you don't get to lecture me. If you'd just returned the 10% shares of the Bridges Group, we wouldn't be in this mess."

Seb didn't respond. Instead, he picked up a pen and signed the termination contract.

As soon as he finished, Damon eagerly snatched the contract and handed Seb a bank card.

"Mr. Smith, the penalty fee is on this card. The password is six zeros."

Seb glanced at him but didn't take the card. "Just leave it on the table."

Damon's expression shifted, a shadow passing over his eyes. "Mr. Smith, are you looking down on me?"

Seb picked up another document and began reading, not even sparing Damon a glance. "If Mr. Bridges thinks so, then yeah."

Damon's grip on the card tightened, his knuckles turning white. He stared at Seb for a moment before placing the card on the table. "Mr. Smith, I advise you not to be so arrogant. Offending people left and right will only lead to regret."

With that, Damon turned and left.

Seb glanced at the card on the table and then looked at Paul. "Check how much money is on this card, but don't touch it."

"Yes, Mr. Smith."

Meanwhile, Damon had already reached the Silvercrest Group building. As soon as he got into his car, he called Garry. "Grandpa, I did what you asked. What's next?"

"Get back to work at the company. Do you really need to ask? Now that we've cut ties with Silvercrest Group, the priority is finding new partners. Are you stupid?"

Garry's voice was filled with anger. Damon was used to being scolded and didn't take it to heart. "Got it."

He hung up and told the driver, "Back to the office."

At the Bridges Mansion study, Garry put down his phone and looked at Jesse. "Mr. Scott, I've done as you asked. Are you satisfied now?"

Jesse smiled, seemingly in a good mood. "Mr. Bridges, this is just the beginning. Don't worry, I never shortchange my partners. Once Silvercrest Group goes bankrupt, I'll make the Bridges Group the biggest company in Metropolis."

Garry's greatest wish was for the Bridges Group to surpass Silvercrest Group. But hearing Jesse's words, he felt a sense of unease. Jesse was a dangerous man, and Garry felt that partnering with him might not be a good idea.

Seeing Garry's silence, Jesse narrowed his eyes. "Mr. Bridges, what's wrong? Don't you trust me?"

Garry snapped out of his thoughts and met Jesse's deep gaze, feeling a chill. "No, no, I was just thinking about where the Bridges Group will find new partners."

The Bridges Group's breach of contract was practically biting the hand that fed them, and it would make other major companies in Metropolis wary of them. Finding new partners wouldn't be easy.

Jesse chuckled. "Is that all? MK Group can partner with the Bridges Group and solve all your current problems."

Garry shook his head. "Mr. Scott, that's not necessary. I already have potential partners in mind. MK is big, but its headquarters are abroad. You can't stay in Metropolis forever. The Bridges Group is a small company; it's better to work with domestic partners."

Seeing that Garry was wary of him, Jesse didn't get angry. He nodded. "Alright, if you need anything, just let me know. I only have one request: go after Silvercrest Group's partners, no matter the cost. I'll cover any losses."

Garry nodded. "With your assurance, Mr. Scott, I feel much better."

Jesse smiled and stood up. "I have other matters to attend to, so I won't take up more of your time. Goodbye, and I hope you bring me good news next time we meet."

"Rest assured, Mr. Scott. I'll do my best."

After Jesse left, Garry sat down and sighed deeply. He picked up his phone and dialed a number. "Hello? Bryce, I'd like to discuss a partnership. When can we..."

Before he could finish, the person on the other end cut him off. "Mr. Bridges, I can't risk partnering with the Bridges Group right now. Who knows if you'll do the same to us as you did to Silvercrest Group? I'm in a meeting, so unless it's urgent, don't call again."

With that, the call ended. Garry made several more calls, all of which were met with refusals.

In a fit of rage, Garry threw his phone to the ground. "I refuse to believe that without these companies, the Bridges Group can't survive in Metropolis!"

A servant, hearing the commotion, rushed in. "Mr. Bridges, please calm down. You have high blood pressure; you can't get too worked up!"

Garry's voice was cold. "Call Damon and tell him to come back immediately."

"Yes, right away."

Damon hurried back to the mansion. As soon as he stepped into the living room, a servant stopped him. "Mr. Damon Bridges, Mr. Garry Bridges is very angry right now. Please be careful not to argue with him."

Damon nodded. "Don't worry, I know."

He walked into the study and saw Garry sitting behind his desk, looking furious. "Grandpa, what's going on? The servant said you were very angry."

Garry took a deep breath and looked at Damon. "I just called several people we usually have good relations with, and none of them are willing to partner with the Bridges Group. It seems our reputation is ruined after breaking ties with Silvercrest Group. We might not find any major stable partners in Metropolis."

Damon was taken aback. "Is that why you're so upset?"

Seeing Garry's stern face, Damon walked over and tried to calm him down. "Grandpa, don't worry about it. If companies in Metropolis won't work with us, we'll find partners in other cities. We might even expand our market. In a few years, the Bridges Group could open new branches."

Garry gave him a cold look. "Open new branches? I'll be grateful if you don't run the company into the ground!"

"It's not that I don't want to work with companies in Metropolis. It's because we broke our contract with Silvercrest Group, making everyone wary. Think about it, Silvercrest Group just helped us, and we turned around and cut ties with them. Who wouldn't be cautious?

"By the way, why did you insist on breaking the contract with Silvercrest Group this time?"

The contract with Silvercrest Group, though less profitable, was still a source of income. It just wasn't as lucrative as before.

Garry impatiently replied, "Just do as I say. It's not your place to question my decisions!"
