Chapter 317 The Smith Group Doesn't Only Have Alex

Sharon gave him a cold look, "Really?"

Alex was caught off guard but quickly said, "Of course, we were so in love before, remember?"

"Yeah, sure." Sharon raised an eyebrow, "By the way, I have something to tell you too."

"What is it?" Alex asked.

"Come closer."

Alex, looking confused, stepped closer to Sharon. Just as he got within reach, Sharon suddenly slapped him.

The slap echoed through the living room, leaving a red mark on Alex's face. His expression turned sour as he yelled, "Sharon!"

His voice was filled with anger, and his eyes darkened as he glared at her.

Sharon smirked, "That slap is for what I couldn't give you five years ago. Now we're even."

Alex gritted his teeth, trying to keep his anger in check, "Sharon, now that you've slapped me, you feel better, right? Can I try to win you back?"

Sharon glanced at him, smirking, "Sorry, not interested. Go find Ava. You two are perfect for each other."

Alex was about to say something when his phone rang. Seeing it was Seb calling, his expression changed.

After a moment of hesitation, Alex answered the call.

"You have one minute to get out of my villa," Seb's cold voice came through the phone.

Before Alex could respond, the call ended abruptly.

Holding his phone, Alex's face turned even uglier. He knew he couldn't confront Seb directly, not without securing the Smith Group first.

Putting his phone away, Alex looked at Sharon, "Sharon, this isn't over."

After Alex left, Dana quickly walked over to Sharon, "Ms. Roach, are you okay? I was worried, so I called Mr. Seb Smith."

Sharon shook her head, "I'm fine, Dana. You can go back to your work. I need some time alone."

"Okay, call me if you need anything." With that, Dana went back to the kitchen, while Sharon sat down on the sofa, thinking about her next move.

Sharon didn't want any more drama with the Smith family; she needed to act fast.

Thinking of this, Sharon took out her phone and dialed Zachary's number, "Zachary, I need you to do something for me."

In the following days, Sharon and Demetrius stayed home.

Seb, who was supposed to be on a week-long business trip, suddenly returned three days early, grabbed a file from the villa, and rushed to Silvercrest Group, not even stopping to eat with Demetrius.

Back at Silvercrest Group, Seb immediately called a shareholders' meeting.

"I'm sure everyone knows that the Elliott Group's Western Suburbs project has hit some snags," Seb began, his voice steady but serious. "The money we recently invested is likely hard to recover. Right now, our cash flow is tight, and several major projects need to be postponed. Our priority is to complete the current projects and move forward once we get the returns."

The atmosphere in the conference room was tense, and everyone looked worried.

The investment in the Western Suburbs project was huge, and now that it had issues, it was hard not to suspect foul play, especially since the problems started right after Silvercrest Group invested.

After Seb finished speaking, a shareholder raised a question. "Mr. Smith, I think someone is targeting Silvercrest Group. How else could this be so coincidental?"

"Yeah, everyone knew how crucial this project was. If there were any issues, we should've seen some signs. How could a project everyone was fighting over suddenly have problems?" another shareholder chimed in, frustration evident in his tone.

"Whoever's messing with Silvercrest Group has some serious guts!" a third shareholder exclaimed, his voice rising with anger.

Seb's icy stare shut them up instantly. "I've already got people looking into it," he said firmly. "I'll update everyone as soon as we know more. For now, just focus on your work. Silvercrest Group has weathered plenty of storms over the years and always come out on top. This won't bring us down either."

Seb's words calmed them down, and their expressions eased up a lot.

Even if they didn't believe in themselves, they believed in Seb.

With Seb at the helm, they were confident Silvercrest Group wouldn't fall!

The meeting dragged on for over three hours before it finally wrapped up. Seb headed back to his office and called Rufus in.

"What's the deal with Luminary Ventures Group?" Seb asked, leaning back in his chair.

"Mr. Smith, I was just about to report," Rufus began, looking uneasy. "Luminary Ventures Group has been bleeding money since last year and is now just an empty shell."

Seb realized he had spent millions buying shares in a worthless company.

Seb wasn't shocked by Rufus's report. From the moment the Western Suburbs project hit snags, he had a gut feeling it was all a setup.

"So, did the folks from Luminary Ventures Group approach Keith for his patents?" Seb asked, narrowing his eyes.

If Keith really joined Luminary Ventures Group, the company could stay afloat for a while just by selling Keith's patents.

Rufus shook his head, "I don't know, but during your business trip, Mr. Montgomery submitted his resignation and has since vanished."

Hearing that, Seb's expression darkened, "Find a way to locate Keith!"

He had a hunch that finding Keith would reveal who was plotting against Silvercrest Group.

That evening, Seb got a call from Tyler.

Tyler told him, "The doctor has arrived. Come to The Smith Mansion tonight."

Seb frowned and, after a long pause, replied coldly, "Got it."

Putting down the phone, a mix of emotions flashed in Seb's eyes.

He had always wanted to regain his memory, but now that the chance was here, he felt uneasy.

After all, he and Sharon were practically strangers now, and he had done so many hurtful things to her.

If he regained his memory and fell in love with her again, how would he handle it?

After much thought, Seb decided to go back.

He'd rather live in pain with clarity than in blissful ignorance.

Meanwhile, at the Smith Mansion, Tyler looked coldly at David, "When Seb arrives tonight, if you say anything out of line, don't blame me for being ruthless. The Smith Group doesn't only have Alex as an heir."

David and Alex's expressions shifted slightly at his words.

They hadn't forgotten that Randy was still the general manager at the Smith Group.

Rumor had it that Randy had achieved quite a bit at the Smith Group over the years.

When Alex took over the Smith Group, his first move would be to kick Randy out. Otherwise, given Randy's skills, he would eventually threaten Alex's position.

David gritted his teeth, "I understand."

Although he didn't want to harm Seb, Alex was clearly more important to him.

"Alright, I'm tired. Call me when Seb arrives." With that, Tyler got up and left the living room.

After a moment of silence, David stood up, "I'm going to talk to that doctor."
