Chapter 467 Don't Even Think About Getting Involved with the Company Again

"Alright, Mr. Wendy."

Ayla had been stuck at the police station for two days, and finally, the lawyer from the Bridges Group showed up.

"Why are you just getting here now? Do you have any idea I've been locked up for two days?" Ayla looked worn out and was clearly annoyed as she glared at the lawyer.

"Ms. Bridges, your actions have seriously damaged the image of the Bridges Group. The shareholders have been busy with damage control for the past two days, so they only had time to deal with this now. I'll handle your bail, and you can leave soon. But the shareholders insist you publicly apologize to the Silvercrest Group and step down as General Manager of the Bridges Group."

Ayla's eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe this was the outcome after waiting for two days.

"I'm not resigning. I want to see my grandfather."

"I'm here on Mr. Bridges' orders. He has also approved your resignation."

Ayla was stunned for a moment, then quickly shook her head. "No way, I don't believe my grandfather would do this to me! I don't believe it!"

Her emotions flared up, and she glared at the lawyer with anger and resentment.

"Ms. Bridges, if you don't believe me, you can ask Mr. Bridges yourself once you're out. I'll go handle the bail now."

Half an hour later, Ayla followed the lawyer out of the police station.

The first thing she did after leaving was head straight to the Bridges Mansion to find Garry.

But the servant at the door stopped her. "Ms. Bridges, Mr. Bridges is still upset and doesn't want to see you. Maybe come back in a few days."

When Garry was really mad before, he even threatened to cut ties with Ayla. Although he hadn't said it again, the atmosphere in the Bridges Mansion had been super tense. The servants were all on edge, not daring to say a word more for fear of angering Garry.

"Tell my grandfather I'm waiting at the door. I'll come in when he's ready to see me."

The servant sighed, "Ms. Bridges, why put yourself through this?"

Ayla's face turned cold, "Just do as I say!"

The servant sighed again and went back into the mansion to report to Garry.

Garry slammed the table and said coldly, "Let her be. I don't care!"

When the Starlight Corporation project had issues before, he had backed Ayla to stay on as General Manager of the Bridges Group despite the pressure. And how did she repay him?

She messed up the bidding project and got herself caught, making him lose all his dignity.

Now, the board members of the Bridges Group were polite to him on the surface, but who wasn't mocking him behind his back?

The more he thought about it, the angrier Garry got.

He had once thought Ayla was capable and could be groomed as his successor. He must have been blind back then!

Seeing Garry's angry expression, Damon quickly handed him a glass of water, "Grandfather, don't get so worked up. It's not worth it to harm your health."

Garry took the glass and said in a deep voice, "How have you been handling the documents these past two days?"

Damon had never been much of a business talent, which was why Garry had initially groomed Ayla. But Ayla, despite her business skills, always liked to stir up trouble.

It would have been fine if she caused trouble with small companies that wouldn't dare to openly oppose the Bridges Group even if they suffered losses.

But this time, she went up against the Silvercrest Group, which didn't care whether you were the Bridges Group or any other company.

After a lot of thinking, Garry decided to give Damon another shot.

Better to be a bit slow than too smart.

Damon quickly shared his thoughts on the documents he'd been reviewing over the past couple of days. Garry's brows furrowed as he listened, clearly not impressed.

"Grandfather... did I say something wrong?" Damon asked nervously.

If he didn't make the most of this chance, the Bridges Group would be out of his reach forever.

Garry's face was stern, "Compared to Ayla, you're way behind."

Damon was taken aback, his face flushing.

Since they were kids, Ayla had always outshone him. Even though he was the eldest grandson, he was never as valued as Ayla.

Now, even after Ayla's huge screw-up, Garry still thought he was behind her?

He lowered his eyes and admitted, "Grandfather, I'm sorry. I'm just not smart enough. I'll work harder."

Garry didn't want to see him either and waved him off, "Go back and keep studying. If you're still like this next time, don't bother coming to the company."

With Damon's current skills, if he took over the family business, it would be bankrupt in two years.

"Okay."

After Damon left, Garry picked up the documents but was too annoyed to read them.

At his age, he should be enjoying retirement, not dealing with problems caused by his useless descendants.

He couldn't help but wonder why he couldn't have a son like Seb.

Ayla stood at the entrance of the Bridges Mansion for over ten hours, nearly frozen, but Garry still refused to see her.

The servants came out to persuade her several times, but Ayla refused to leave, insisting on waiting until Garry agreed to see her.

In the evening, Garry finally walked out of the mansion.

Ayla's pale face lit up with a hint of a smile, and she quickly stepped forward.

But because she'd been standing for so long, her legs were almost numb from the cold, and she immediately fell to the ground as soon as she moved. "Grandfather."

Garry looked down at her, his eyes cold, "Don't call me grandfather. I don't have such a foolish granddaughter."

Ayla's face fell, "Grandfather, I messed up this time, but I did it for the company."

Garry sneered, "You know very well whether you did it for the company or for yourself."

"Grandfather, I really did it for the company." Ayla's eyes filled with tears, full of grievance.

"I don't want to waste words with you. From now on, I'll give you a monthly allowance of one million dollars. Don't think about getting involved with the company again."

"What?" Ayla couldn't believe that after waiting all day, this was the result.

She had stayed up countless nights for the Bridges Group and secured so many projects. Now, just because she made a few mistakes, Garry wanted to kick her out of the company?

"Grandfather, you can't do this to me. I've done so much for the company. If you kick me out, who will take over the Bridges family in the future?"

As they spoke, the driver had already pulled the car to the entrance.

"That's not your concern." Garry didn't look at her again and got into the car to leave.

Ayla tried to get up and chase after him, but she fell again after just a few steps, watching helplessly as Garry's car disappeared from her sight.

"Who is this? Isn't this the once-glorious Ms. Bridges of the Bridges Group? Why are you so pathetically lying on the ground?"
