Chapter 560 Don't Worry, I Won't Do Anything to You
No one knew how much time had passed when there was a knock on the study door.
"Come in."
Sharon pushed the door open and entered, seeing Seb standing by the window. She was surprised, "Seb, don't you have work to do?"
Seb turned to look at her, "I postponed the company's stuff for a few days and called Demetrius's preschool to arrange for his leave."
"I have something I want to discuss with you."
"What's up?" Seb asked.
"I saw Demetrius's list of rewards he wants, and one of them is to go out and have fun with us. I was thinking, why don't we take the next three days to go on a family trip?"
Seb's eyes showed a hint of surprise, "Sure, I'll find a resort."
"Thanks."
"Do we really need to say thanks between us? But what about Demetrius? How are you planning to tell him you're leaving?"
Sharon's face changed slightly, and she lowered her eyes without speaking.
She had never been apart from Demetrius and didn't know how to tell him.
Seb pulled her into his arms and said softly, "If you haven't figured it out yet, wait until you do."
Sharon nodded, "Okay."
She leaned against Seb's chest and started to tell him about taking care of Demetrius.
"Demetrius is really scared of thunderstorms. If it rains and thunders at night, you must remember to sleep with him. Also, he doesn't like carrots, but you need to make sure he eats them once a week for vitamins..."
Sharon rambled on, and Seb listened quietly.
By the end, Sharon's voice was choked, and her eyes were red.
If she could, she really didn't want to leave Seb and Demetrius.
Seb gently patted her back and said softly, "Sharon, don't worry. I will take good care of Demetrius and become strong enough to stand up to the Stoll family. I won't make you wait too long."
Sharon nodded, "I was so focused on telling you about Demetrius that I forgot to remind you to take care of yourself. Make sure you eat three meals a day. If you get a stomachache again, you won't take it seriously without me around. I'll have Paul keep an eye on you, and when I come back, I'll ask him if you listened to me and ate well and slept well."
Seb couldn't help but laugh, "Alright, don't worry. I'll listen. If I don't take care of myself and you come back to find me unhealthy, you might leave me for someone healthier."
"Glad you know."
Sharon wiped her red eyes and stepped out of Seb's embrace, looking up at him, "I won't disturb your work anymore. Don't work too late."
She was about to leave when Seb pulled her back into his arms again.
"You'll be leaving for Stellaria in three days. Do you think I can focus on work?"
"Then let's chat for a while."
"Okay. Before you leave, shouldn't you go talk to Dad?"
Sharon was stunned for a few seconds before she reacted, looking up at him, "You adapted to calling him 'Dad' pretty quickly."
"Thanks for the compliment."
Sharon thought for a moment, "I'll go see him tomorrow morning. I'll go alone; you and Demetrius stay home."
"Alright."
They stayed in the study for a while before Sharon pushed him away, "I need to take a shower. I have to get up early tomorrow."
"Okay, I'll join you."
Hearing this, Sharon quickly waved her hand, "No need, I want to shower alone."
Realizing what Sharon was worried about, Seb said, "Don't worry, I won't do anything."
They only had three days left together. He just wanted time to slow down and spend as much time with her as possible, not waste it on other things.
Sharon looked at him skeptically, "Really?"
"Really, I swear."
Seeing Seb's serious expression, Sharon hesitated for a moment and finally agreed.
"Alright, but you have to keep your word."
"Okay."
After they went upstairs, Seb didn't follow Sharon into the bathroom. He just handed her a towel.
"You go ahead."
"Okay."
After the sound of running water started in the bathroom, Seb walked to the window and took out his phone to make a call.
"Prepare to leave for Stellaria tomorrow. The mission is to protect someone indefinitely."
The person on the other end said something, and Seb replied in a deep voice, "The person is my wife, Sharon."
After hanging up, Seb put away his phone, his eyes gradually turning cold.
He believed their separation wouldn't last long.
Half an hour later, Sharon came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.
Freshly showered, her cheeks were a soft pink, like a ripe peach, exuding a tempting fragrance.
Seeing her hair still dripping, Seb frowned and grabbed another towel, walking behind her to wrap her hair and dry it. "Why didn't you dry your hair before coming out?"
"The steam inside was too much, and I felt a bit stuffy, so I came out first."
The room was heated, so she didn't feel cold.
Seb dried her hair until it stopped dripping, then said softly, "Get into bed and cover up. I'll get the hairdryer."
"Okay."
Seb moved quickly and was back at the bedside in less than a minute.
After plugging in the hairdryer, he looked at Sharon, "Turn your back to me, I'll dry your hair."
"Why don't I do it myself?"
"No need, I'll do it."
Facing Seb's firm gaze, Sharon had no choice but to comply and turned her back to him.
After drying her hair, Seb put the hairdryer away and went to shower.
When he came out, Sharon had already changed into her pajamas and was sitting on the bed reading a book.
Hearing his footsteps, she looked up, "Done showering?"
"Yeah."
He walked to the other side of the bed and got under the covers.
Sharon closed her book and placed it aside, then turned and fell into his slightly damp embrace.
Seb held her gently, as if she were a fragile treasure.
Sharon reached out to hug him back, and the room fell silent, with only their breathing filling the space.
"Seb, don't worry too much about me. Even in Stellaria, I'll find a way to contact you and Demetrius."
Seb's grip tightened slightly, and after a long while, he responded with a soft "Okay."
He knew Sharon was just trying to comfort him.
Carolyn wouldn't let her contact them once she took her to Stellaria.
His only option was to strengthen Silvercrest Group until he could stand up to the Stoll family.
"Alright, it's not like we're saying goodbye forever. Don't be so serious."
"Don't say things like that." Seb's voice was low, with a barely noticeable tremble.
Sharon bit her lower lip and tried to sound casual, "I was just saying it offhand, don't take it to heart."
"But when it comes to you, I can't help worrying."
"I promise I'll come back safely. Besides, she's still my biological mother; she wouldn't really harm me."
"Alright."
They held each other quietly for a while before Seb finally let go of Sharon.
However, his gaze remained fixed on her, not intending to look away.
Feeling a bit uncomfortable under his stare, Sharon asked, "Why are you staring at me?"
"I want to take a good look at you."
Sharon pursed her lips and gave him a quick kiss on the lips, "I'm tired. Let's go to sleep."
"Okay."
Seb turned off the light, and the room was instantly plunged into darkness, with only a sliver of moonlight filtering through the curtains.
Sharon nestled into Seb's arms and quickly fell asleep.
Listening to her steady breathing, Seb carefully turned on the bedside lamp and gazed at Sharon's sleeping face.
It wasn't until late into the night that the light in the bedroom was turned off.
The next morning, Sharon woke up before dawn. She picked up her phone and saw it was 6:30 AM.
She had less than three days before she had to leave for Stellaria.
Realizing she was resting on Seb's arm, with his other hand on her waist, Sharon gently lifted his hand. Just as she was about to put it down, Seb opened his eyes.
"Sorry, did I wake you?"
"No, I should be up anyway. Are you getting up?"
"Yes, I'm going to see my dad."
"I'll drive you there."
As he spoke, Seb was already sitting up and getting out of bed.
"No need, it's still early. You should get some more sleep; you haven't been resting well lately."
"It's fine. I'll take a nap at noon."
With Seb insisting, Sharon had no choice but to agree.
After they got up and freshened up, they went downstairs for breakfast. Then Seb drove Sharon to Robert's place.
When the car stopped downstairs, Sharon looked at him, "Wait for me here. I should be back in about half an hour."
"Okay. When you talk to Dad, make sure to prepare him mentally."
"Don't worry, I know." With that, Sharon got out of the car.
Robert was having breakfast and was surprised to see Sharon, "What brings you here?"
"Dad, I have something to tell you."
Seeing Sharon's serious expression, Robert told the housekeeper, "I remember we're running low on butter. Go buy a couple of packs."
After sending the housekeeper away, Robert put down his fork and looked at her, "What do you need to tell me?"
Sharon sat across from him, "Dad, you should prepare yourself."
Robert nodded, "Go ahead."
"In a few days, I might have to go to Stellaria. I might not be able to come back for a long time, so I wanted to let you know."
As soon as she finished speaking, Robert's face darkened, "What's going on? Why do you suddenly have to go to Stellaria? Is it because of your mom?"
"Yes, she's been working abroad for years and hasn't come to see me. She feels guilty and wants to hand over the Stoll family business to me, but I have to go to Stellaria first."
"What about Seb and Demetrius? Are they going with you?"
Sharon shook her head, "They'll stay here for now. Once I settle in Stellaria, I'll bring them over, and we'll bring you too."
Robert immediately refused, "I'm not going. I'm used to living in Metropolis and don't want to go anywhere else. Besides, with my health, I don't have many years left. I don't want to go through the hassle."
Hearing this, Sharon's face changed slightly, "Dad, you'll live a long time."
Robert couldn't help but smile bitterly, "At my age, with my poor health, every day is a blessing. The only thing I worry about is you. Otherwise, I wouldn't care if I lived or died."
"You must take good care of yourself."
"I know. Since your mom is willing to hand over the company she built over the years to you, learn from her and don't disappoint her."
In Robert's mind, Carolyn was still the gentle and kind woman she was when they were together.
So he didn't doubt Sharon's words too much.
"Okay, I understand."
After sitting with Robert for a while and telling him some things to take care of, Sharon left.
As she walked downstairs, her eyes couldn't help but redden.
She didn't know if she'd have the chance to see him again after going to Stellaria.
When she got back in the car, Sharon was still feeling sad, her eyes glistening with tears.
Seb reached out and pulled her into his arms, comforting her softly, "Sharon, don't worry. I'll bring Dad to the villa to take care of him. If he doesn't want to go, I'll find someone to look after him."
"Thank you. It'll be hard on you."
"You're my wife. Your dad is my dad too. It's what I should do."
"Okay, let's go home."
When they returned to the villa, Demetrius was already up and sitting at the dining table having breakfast.
Sharon walked over to him, "Demetrius, Daddy and Mommy have taken a few days off. We're going to go on a trip together. How does that sound?"
Demetrius's eyes widened in disbelief, forgetting to bite his sandwich, "Mommy, really?"
"Of course it's true. Didn't you write that one of the rewards you wanted was to go out with Daddy and Mommy?"
"Yes! When are we leaving?"
Demetrius was excited. He finally got to go out with Daddy and Mommy!
And he didn't have to go to school!
"Finish your breakfast, and we'll pack up and leave."
Upon hearing this, Demetrius lost interest in his breakfast and immediately put down his sandwich, ready to jump off his chair.
The next second, Sharon stopped him.
"Demetrius, did you forget what Mommy taught you? You can't waste food."
Demetrius looked at the sandwich, then at Sharon's serious expression, and sat back down, picking up the sandwich to continue eating.
He ate quickly, finishing the sandwich in a few bites.
But because he ate too fast, he choked on the last bite.
Sharon quickly handed him the milk, and Demetrius took a big gulp, finally feeling better.
Wiping the milk from his mouth, Demetrius looked up at Sharon, "Mommy, can I go pack now?"
Sharon sighed, "Yes, but take your time. Daddy and Mommy haven't started packing yet."
"Okay."
Though he agreed, Demetrius wasted no time, running upstairs with his short legs, disappearing at the top of the stairs in no time.
