Chapter 547 When Did You Get in Touch with Demetrius?
Seeing Sharon's face full of anger, Seb spoke slowly, "Sharon, don't get upset. Just hear me out."
"What's there to hear? Do you think with Alton and Jesse's skills, they won't find Demetrius and me? Going abroad is more dangerous than staying here. We could face accidents or be directly captured by Jesse or Alton and taken back to Stellaria."
Seb stood up and gently pulled her into his arms, speaking softly, "I know what you're worried about, but if I say I can get you out safely, I mean it. Trust me, okay?"
"No way!"
Sharon pushed him away, her voice cold, "No matter what you say, I won't agree to leave the country."
With that, she turned and walked away.
Watching her retreating figure, Seb's eyes were filled with helplessness and heartache.
He knew Sharon refused to leave because she was worried about him.
But wasn't he also worried about her and Demetrius?
Because of the earlier argument, Sharon didn't even glance at Seb during dinner, only talking to Demetrius.
Seb wanted to speak several times, but seeing her cold expression, he swallowed his words.
After dinner, seeing Sharon heading upstairs, Seb couldn't hold back any longer. He grabbed her hand, "Sharon, come to the study with me. We need to talk."
Sharon shook off his hand, "There's nothing to talk about. I won't agree to what you said, so it's pointless."
Before she could finish, Seb scooped her up and carried her to the study.
Sharon was startled and furious, "Seb, what are you doing? Put me down!"
Seb, with a stern face, didn't say a word. He carried her into the study, kicked the door shut, and only then set her down by the sofa.
"Sharon, we really need to talk."
"I've already said, I won't leave the country. Even if you send Demetrius and me abroad, I'll find a way back. Seb, Alton and Jesse are after me. If they can't find me, they'll come after you. By then, Silvercrest Group will be in real trouble."
"I know, Sharon, but to me, your and Demetrius's safety is the most important."
Sharon took a deep breath and said, "I understand, but we're a family. We should face everything together, good or bad. There's nothing more to discuss. As for marriage, if you want to, let's do it. If not, forget it."
She stood up to leave.
Seb quickly grabbed her hand, "I want to, of course I want to! I've dreamed of marrying you, but right now..."
Before he could finish, Sharon held his hand, "That's enough. We'll go register our marriage tomorrow morning."
Seb looked into Sharon's eyes and saw determination and love.
"Okay!"
The next morning, they were waiting at the Vital Records Office as soon as it opened. They went in immediately.
Half an hour later, they walked out hand in hand, holding their marriage certificate.
Seb looked at Sharon and said softly, "Mrs. Smith, please take care of me from now on."
"Mr. Smith, you too."
Sharon's face was lit up with happiness. She opened the marriage certificate, "Let's take a picture."
"Sure."
Seb took out his phone, and they took a selfie together.
"Alright, you should go to work. I have some things to do later."
Seb raised an eyebrow, "What things?"
"That's women's business; don't poke around."
Seb nodded, "Got it. Need a ride?"
"No, I'll take a cab."
"Okay."
After watching Seb's car leave, Sharon put the marriage certificate in her bag and took a cab to the restaurant where she had arranged to meet Alton.
When she arrived, it was still half an hour before their scheduled time, but Alton was already there.
Seeing her, Alton quickly stood up, "Sharon, you're here."
"Yeah, why are you so early?"
Sharon sat down across from him, her expression calm, her gaze devoid of any emotion, no longer holding the resentment from before.
"I didn't have much to do, so I came early. What did you want to talk about?"
Sharon took a deep breath and spoke slowly, "After I went back, I thought about it carefully. You were right. She's my mother. I can't completely cut ties with her. I can try to accept her, but I want you to be honest with me. What's your real purpose for coming to Metropolis?"
Hearing this, Alton's eyes lit up with surprise. He quickly said, "Sharon, I really came back to take you and Demetrius to Stellaria. There's no other purpose. Your mom has always wanted you and Demetrius to live in Stellaria. Now is the best opportunity.
"And also, your mom hopes you can inherit the Stoll family."
Sharon lowered her eyes and after a moment, spoke, "Doesn't she have a son and a daughter? Why does she want me to inherit?"
Someone who hadn't looked for her in all these years would hand over such a big family to her?
Anyone with common sense would see something was off.
"Your brother and sister aren't suitable to inherit the family."
Sharon raised an eyebrow, "Why?"
Alton sighed, "It's complicated. You'll understand when you get to Stellaria."
Sharon pursed her lips, looking at Alton, "I'm only planning to understand her life in Stellaria. I haven't agreed to go back with you. I hope you understand that."
Alton nodded, "I know. You don't want to go to Stellaria because of Seb, right?"
"Yes, so I hope you don't do anything to Seb. Otherwise, I won't forgive you, and I won't forgive her either."
They both knew who she was referring to.
"I understand. Don't worry, I won't do anything to Seb. But once you go to Stellaria, the gap between you and Seb will widen, and your mom won't accept Seb."
Sharon's face turned cold, "Mr. Roach, you seem to have misunderstood something. Whether she accepts Seb or not has nothing to do with me. She hasn't cared about me all these years, so she has no right to interfere in my relationships now."
Sensing that Seb was a sensitive topic for Sharon, Alton wisely changed the subject to Demetrius.
