Chapter 175 Official Announcement of Reconciliation

"Thanks, but no need. Let's keep our contact to a minimum. I don't want to get scolded again."

With a cold look, Sharon was about to walk past Leo when he stopped her.

"Sharon, I'm sorry for what my mom said. I talked to her, and she promised not to bother you again. Please don't be mad."

"If she really felt sorry, you wouldn't be here tonight."

Leo frowned and asked softly, "If she apologizes in person, will you forgive her?"

Sharon looked displeased. She didn't get why Leo insisted on her forgiving Karen. They barely interacted; no need to force it.

"I won't forget what she said, and I can't forgive her. If there's nothing else, please don't come looking for me again."

Without giving Leo a chance to speak, Sharon went inside and closed the door.

Leo stood there for a while before leaving. When he got home, he ran into Karen, who was there to pick up some clothes.

Seeing the lunch box in his hand, Karen frowned. "Where did you just go?"

Leo stayed calm. "I brought Sharon some food."

Karen's face darkened, and she got angry. "Didn't I tell you to stay away from her?"

"I didn't agree, and besides, she's my sister."

"Sister?" Karen sneered. "You're not related by blood. Being with her will only drag you down. You just got back; offending the Smith family won't help you. I'm doing this for your own good!"

"I said, I don't care."

"You don't care?" Karen threw the clothes on the couch and stood up, gritting her teeth. "Even if you don't care, think about me. I worked hard to raise you and send you abroad. Now there's hope, and you want to ruin your future because of Sharon!"

Leo's expression turned icy. "Mom, don't forget, I went abroad because of Robert. Otherwise, I might not have even afforded college."

"He did help, but I've been taking care of him while he was sick. You don't owe the Wright family anything."

"Do you think your care is worth ten million dollars?"

Karen was speechless. After a long pause, she coldly said, "If you stay close to her, I'll go to Silvercrest Group and make a scene until you..."

Leo cut her off coldly, "If you do, I'll resign and leave the country immediately. You'll never see me again."

Karen wavered and took a few steps back to steady herself.

"Leo, is Sharon, who isn't even family, more important than me?"

"Mom, you're pushing me. I'm an adult now, and I hope you let me make my own decisions."

The living room fell silent. After a long time, Karen spoke in a defeated tone, "You're right. You're grown up now, and I can't control you anymore. Do whatever you want."

With that, she picked up her clothes and left.

Watching Karen's slightly hunched figure, Leo felt a pang of guilt.

But he knew if he couldn't resolve things with Karen, he and Sharon couldn't be together.

Meanwhile, Seb had just returned to the villa when he saw Victor's car parked at the entrance.

His eyes darkened as he stopped beside Victor.

Hearing the car door open, Victor looked up at Seb with red eyes.

"When did you find out about Grace's illness?"

Seb's expression was indifferent. "The day she came to see me after she got back."

Victor's body trembled slightly. He took a deep breath and said slowly, "Did you break up with Sharon and get back with Grace because she only has three months left?"

Seb frowned. "I didn't get back with her."

He had only agreed to be with Grace for these three months, but he had no intention of reconciling.

"So, you really don't love her anymore?"

"From the moment she chose to go abroad, there was no chance for us."

Victor's hand clenched tightly, and he looked agitated. "But Grace has always loved you. She only has three months left. Can't you just lie to her?"

"No, that wouldn't be fair to Sharon."

Seb had asked Sharon to wait for him for three months and promised her he wouldn't get back with Grace. Even if Sharon didn't believe him, he wouldn't break his promise.

"What's unfair about it? Grace only needs three months. After that, you can be with Sharon again. This is Grace's dying wish. Even if you don't love her anymore, you were together once. Can you really let her leave with regrets?"

Thinking of Grace crying and telling him she only had three months left, Victor felt like his heart was being squeezed.

"She was the one who broke up with me. If it weren't for the fact that she once saved my life, I wouldn't agree to be with her even if she only had three days left."

"She broke up with you because the pressure was too much. She wanted to prove herself, so she went abroad."

Seb's eyes flashed with impatience. "No matter what, it's all in the past. The person I love now is Sharon, and I won't betray her."

With that, Seb walked past Victor and left.

"Wait," Victor called out, his expression resolute. "There's something Grace has always asked me to keep from you, but I think you should know."

Late at night, the villa was pitch black.

Seb sat motionless on the couch, like a statue.

Victor's words still echoed in his mind, and his face grew increasingly grim.

Carol got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. When she passed by the living room and saw the dark figure on the couch, she was startled and quickly turned on the light.

Seeing it was Seb, she patted her chest in relief.

"Mr. Smith, why are you still up?"

The sudden light was harsh, and Seb squinted, his expression unreadable.

"Nothing, just thinking about some things."

"It's already past two in the morning. Whatever it is, think about it tomorrow."

"Okay, Carol, I got it. You go to bed."

Sensing something was off with Seb's mood, Carol didn't ask further. After using the bathroom, she returned to her room. She didn't know when Seb went to bed, only that he was gone by the time she got up the next morning.

Seeing the ashtray on the coffee table full of cigarette butts, Carol sighed.

It seemed like this time, the issue was really serious. Even when the company was on the verge of bankruptcy, she had never seen Seb smoke this much in one night.

Around eight in the morning, Sharon was on her way to work when she got a call from Sophie while waiting at a red light.

"Sharon, I have something to tell you."

"What is it?"

"Seb and Grace have officially announced they're back together."

The phone slipped from her hand. Whatever Sophie said next, Sharon couldn't hear anymore.

It was as if a layer of mist had formed before her eyes, and the world gradually became blurry.
