Chapter 577 How Did I Give Birth to an Idiot Like You!

Sharon slapped Daisy again, leaving a red handprint on the other side of her face.

Daisy's eyes flared with anger as she struggled and screamed, quickly drawing the attention of the household staff.

Seeing Sharon and Daisy wrestling, with Daisy clearly at a disadvantage, the staff looked panicked. One of them immediately ran to fetch Carolyn from the study.

Hearing the commotion in the hallway, Carolyn's face turned grim. She stood up and hurried to the door.

From a distance, she saw the two figures entangled. Anger flashed in her eyes as she turned to the nearby staff. "What are you waiting for? Separate them!"

The staff, snapping out of their daze, rushed forward to pull the two apart.

Daisy's hair and clothes were a mess, her face marked with bright red handprints. She glared at Sharon with hatred in her eyes.

Seeing Carolyn, Daisy's eyes welled up with tears. "Mom... she hit me."

Carolyn glanced at Daisy's disheveled appearance, then at Sharon, who looked unscathed except for her slightly messy hair. Her expression turned cold.

"Why did you hit your sister?"

Sharon chuckled. "I don't have a sister who calls my son a bastard."

Carolyn frowned and turned to Daisy with a stern look. "Did you really say that?"

Daisy shook her head while crying. "Mom, I didn't! She's lying! I never said that."

"If you didn't, then stop crying!"

Carolyn turned back to Sharon, her gaze even colder. "Sharon, not only did you hit Daisy, but you also lied to me. You have no manners!"

Sharon sneered. "You don't believe me, but you believe Daisy right away. You're really a great mother to her!"

Her sarcastic tone made Carolyn even angrier. "Lock her in the attic. No food, no letting her out without my permission!"

"Yes, ma'am."

Behind Carolyn, Daisy smirked smugly at Sharon, as if mocking her naivety.

Between Sharon and Daisy, Carolyn would always choose Daisy.

Sharon, having long given up on expecting anything from Carolyn, felt no disappointment.

Soon, Sharon was escorted away by the staff.

As Daisy was about to leave, Carolyn called her. "Come to the study with me."

Seeing Carolyn's serious expression, Daisy's heart sank.

'Could Mom have figured out the truth?'

Following Carolyn nervously, Daisy entered the study and closed the door. As soon as she looked up, a slap landed on her face.

Unlike Sharon's angry slap, Daisy was stunned, unable to believe Carolyn had hit her.

Tears immediately welled up in her eyes. "Mom."

"Shut up! How did I raise such an idiot like you!"

Carolyn's face was filled with anger. Gareth and Daisy, both were fools.

"Mom, I'm sorry!" Daisy lowered her head, looking aggrieved.

Carolyn took several deep breaths to calm her anger.

"Do you know why I hit you?"

Daisy shook her head, then quickly nodded under Carolyn's stern gaze.

"I know. I shouldn't have called Sharon's child a bastard."

Carolyn's face remained stern. She felt she should have slapped Daisy a few more times to knock some sense into her.

Daisy bit her lip, not daring to meet Carolyn's eyes. "Mom, did I say something wrong?"

Seeing her cautious and confused look, Carolyn regretted spoiling Daisy too much, not teaching her any skills, making her both malicious and foolish.

"I'm not mad because you called her child a bastard. I'm mad because you made such a scene, embarrassing us in front of the staff."

If this got out, Mary would laugh her head off and badmouth her and Daisy to Jeremy again.

Before Mary came along, her relationship with Jeremy was distant but not hostile. Since Mary became Jeremy's mistress, she constantly badmouthed Carolyn and her children to Jeremy. Now, whenever Jeremy came home, he was always critical, comparing Gareth and Daisy unfavorably to Mary's child.

Thinking about it made Carolyn feel like a heavy stone was pressing on her heart.

And Daisy was indeed foolish, malicious without cunning, both stupid and evil.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I won't do it again."

Carolyn softened her expression slightly. "I'm not saying you can't deal with Sharon. Just be smart about it. Handle things perfectly, without leaving any flaws for others to criticize. Got it?"

Daisy looked confused. She understood a little but mostly didn't.

But she didn't dare say so, only nodding. "I understand."

Seeing her like that, Carolyn knew she'd make the same mistake again.

Carolyn sighed, not having the heart to scold her further. "Sit on the couch. I'll get the first aid kit to treat your face."

Daisy obediently sat on the couch. Carolyn quickly returned with the first aid kit.

After treating Daisy's face, Carolyn was packing up the kit when Daisy suddenly hugged her waist, resting her head on Carolyn's shoulder.

"Mom, I'm sorry for disappointing you again."

Carolyn's heart softened. She turned and patted Daisy's back. "Alright, you're too old to be acting like this. Go on, I have work to do."

"No matter how old I am, I'll always be a child in front of you. I just want to be spoiled!"

Carolyn smiled. "Alright, stop it. I really have to work."

"Okay. Will you have lunch with me today?"

"Not today. I have to go out. You eat by yourself."

Seeing Daisy's disappointment, Carolyn pinched her cheek. "Don't be sad. I'll bring you your favorite Black Forest cake tonight."

"Really? Thanks, Mom!"

Seeing her mood brighten, Carolyn couldn't help but smile.

After Daisy left, Carolyn packed up the first aid kit, called the butler to prepare the car, and left with some documents.

Meanwhile, Daisy returned to her room and called a maid.

"Go pour a bucket of cold water on her. Teach her a lesson."

The maid hesitated. "Isn't that a bit much?"

After all, Sharon was still Carolyn's daughter. If something happened, the maid would be in trouble, not Daisy.

Daisy glared at her. "If you don't do as I say, you can leave now. The estate doesn't keep useless people."

The maid's expression changed. "I'll do it right away. Please don't fire me."

"Then hurry up!"

The maid quickly left, fetched a bucket of ice water, and headed to the attic.

Sharon was resting in the dark attic, leaning against the wall.

She had woken up early, hadn't slept well, and had fought with Daisy. She was exhausted.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, the attic door opened.

Sharon looked up just as a bucket of cold water was dumped on her.

The maid acted quickly, leaving immediately after dousing her, closing the attic door behind her.

The maid returned to Daisy's room and reported that she had done as instructed.

Daisy smiled. "Good job. Keep doing what I say, and you won't regret it."

The maid was scared. "It's so cold, and there's nothing in the attic. What if something happens to Ms. Sharon Roach?"

She just wanted to earn some money, not get into trouble.

Daisy laughed. "Don't worry. If anything happens, it won't be your fault."

If Sharon got sick, it would be her own fault. Hopefully, she'd get so sick she'd never bother Andrew again.

"Okay."

Carolyn was out negotiating a deal. She stayed at a nearby hotel overnight and returned to the estate the next morning.

As her car pulled up, she saw Andrew, Sharon's tutor, arriving.

Carolyn remembered she had locked Sharon in the attic and had been too busy to let her out.

But spending one night in the attic shouldn't be a big deal.

After greeting Andrew, they walked into the estate together.

In the hall, Carolyn turned to a maid. "Go get Sharon. Her tutor is here."

The maid nodded. "Yes, ma'am."

Ten minutes later, the maid rushed back, looking panicked.

Carolyn was having coffee with Andrew. She turned to the maid, her expression stern. "What's the matter?"

"Ma'am, I need to tell you something."

Carolyn frowned. "Is Sharon throwing a tantrum and refusing to come?"

If so, she'd lock her up for a few more days.

"No, ma'am. Ms. Sharon Roach has a fever and is unconscious."

"What?"

Carolyn put down her coffee. "Call the doctor. Her health is too weak."
