Chapter 31 Stay Away from My Wife

Seb unconsciously frowned. "Do you always look at men with that kind of gaze?"

Sharon slightly lowered her head and thought, 'Aren't we talking about his injury? What does my gaze have to do with anything?'

Before she could figure out a reason, Seb continued, "Didn't you say someone swapped your reagent today? If someone is really targeting you, once Susan finds out the truth, I will hold the mastermind accountable."

As soon as he finished speaking, the elevator had already reached the first floor.

Seb said, "Let's head to the hospital to get that wound looked at."

With that, Seb walked out of the elevator first.

Given that Seb was heading to the hospital to tend to his own wound, Sharon opted to accompany him. and besides, it was indeed inconvenient to get a cab during rush hour.

Thanks to Seb, as soon as Sharon arrived at the hospital, she saw several doctors waiting at the entrance, ready to take Seb and Sharon to treat their wounds.

At this moment, Ava came out of the hospital and happened to witness Sharon and Seb getting out of the car together. She immediately took out her phone and snapped a photo.

Ava had long been blocked by Alex, so she had to send the photo to Alex's trusted secretary, Joseph.

Ava: [Joseph, if I'm not mistaken, this is Mr. Alex Smith's wife, right? Why is she at the hospital with Mr. Seb Smith?]

Joseph didn't reply immediately but reported the news to Alex.

After all, he had previously found out that Sharon and Seb had stayed at the same hotel on the same night, causing Alex to smash his phone on the spot.

Now Sharon and Seb were appearing together at the hospital...

Sure enough, when Alex saw the photo on his phone, his face instantly darkened, and he immediately dialed Sharon's number.

The phone was about to hang up automatically when it was finally answered.

"What's up?" Sharon's cold voice came through.

Alex's grip on the phone tightened. He took a deep breath before asking, "Where are you?"

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end before Sharon spoke, "I'm at work. If you have something to say, say it. If not, I'm hanging up."

"Got it." Alex said.

As soon as he finished speaking, Sharon hung up the phone directly.

A cold smile appeared on Alex's lips. He thought, 'I have tried so hard to convince myself that there's nothing between Sharon and Seb, but what does she do? She went to the hospital with Seb and lied to me!'

Alex ordered, "Prepare the car. We're going to the hospital."

After Sharon hung up the phone, the nurse finally spoke, "Ms. Wright, you might feel some discomfort when I treat your wound. Just hang in there, okay?"

Sharon asked, "Okay. Will this wound leave a scar?"

The nurse replied, "This wound isn't too deep. If you take good care of it afterward, it should heal completely."

Hearing this, Sharon finally felt relieved.

On the other side, Seb had finished treating his wound and was the first to walk out of the treatment room.

His injury was on his back, just a minor burn, and it would heal in a few days with some ointment.

As soon as he walked out of the treatment room, he saw Alex walking towards him with a dark expression, full of anger.

Alex stopped in front of Seb and coldly said, "Seb, I hope you stay away from my wife in the future."

Seb raised an eyebrow. Sensing the wariness and hostility in Alex's eyes, Seb let out a cold laugh, and the atmosphere instantly chilled.

He asked, "What do you mean by that? Do you think I have ulterior motives towards Sharon?"

Alex's face remained expressionless, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes. "You know exactly what I mean, Seb. Besides that woman abroad, you've never shown such closeness to any other woman. Yet here you are, constantly coming to Sharon's aid. Don't tell me it's for my sake."

Seb's face darkened, exuding an intimidating aura. "As her husband, you're never there when she needs you, and instead of looking at yourself, you're here lecturing me."

Alex's arrogance visibly diminished, and he said weakly, "If something like this happens again, just give me a heads-up, Seb. I don't want any other men getting close to my wife. I hope you understand."

Seb scoffed, "I don't have time for that. If you need others to inform you about her situation, maybe it's time to reevaluate your marriage."

With that, Seb ignored Alex's darkened face and walked past him.

It wasn't until Seb's figure disappeared at the end of the corridor that Alex took a deep breath and pushed the door open.

Sharon had just finished treating her wound and was about to leave when she looked up and saw Alex walking in.

She frowned. "What are you doing here?"

Seeing the undisguised coldness in her eyes, Alex felt a wave of helplessness.

On the way here, he had already asked Joseph to find out that there was an explosion during Sharon's experiment today, and Seb happened to be on the scene and brought her to the hospital.

But Alex still felt uneasy, wishing he had been the one there to protect her and prevent any harm.

"I heard you got hurt, so I came to check on you." His gaze fell on Sharon's freshly bandaged hand, and he asked in a deep voice, "What did the doctor say?"

Sharon looked down and said calmly, "It's no big deal. You don't have to come all the way over for something this minor next time."

Hearing this, Alex's face immediately turned cold. "Sharon, I'm your husband. Do you expect me to know you're hurt but pretend I don't?"

Sharon replied, "That's not what I meant. I just think you're very busy, and coming over for something so small is a waste of time and pointless."

Alex asked, "You think your injury is something minor?"

Facing Alex's questioning gaze, Sharon pressed her lips together and said nothing.

Alex said, "Do you remember when you used to tell me even the smallest mishaps?"

Sharon retorted, "You said it yourself, that was in the past. People change, you know?"

Alex walked up to her, staring intently at her calm face, and said slowly, "Sharon, it's not about growing up. You just don't want me in your life. You're trying to distance yourself from me and push me out of your life."

Sharon's hand trembled slightly at her side, and she looked up at him. "You're overthinking it. I really just thought it was a minor issue and didn't want to worry you."

"So Seb can know about these things?" Alex questioned.
