Chapter 555 Seb Fights Alone
The group fell silent again. After a while, someone finally spoke up, "Alright, since Seb won't cut us any slack, let's go find Mr. Scott and ask for his help!"
A few minutes later, the group that had been waiting outside Silvercrest Group's entrance turned and left.
The receptionist informed Paul, who then reported to Seb.
"Mr. Smith, they showed up around five this morning and suddenly left. Not sure if they've given up or if there's another reason."
Seb's face remained indifferent. "Whatever the reason, it's none of our concern. Don't bother reporting such matters to me in the future. You can go."
"Yes, sir."
Meanwhile, the group contacted Jesse and waited for him in a private room at a restaurant.
It took over two hours before Jesse finally arrived.
Seeing him, Amos Hall from Excellence Corp quickly stood up. "Mr. Scott, you're finally here. We've been waiting for you."
Jesse smiled faintly, found a seat, and raised an eyebrow. "I already know why you're looking for me. It's not that I don't want to help you, but I can't solve your problems. My company's business direction is different from yours. However, I can introduce some clients to you."
"That way, your production lines can start up, and you won't lose too much."
Immediately, the group's expressions changed.
Amos glared at Jesse coldly. "Mr. Scott, you promised that if we helped you against Silvercrest Group, you wouldn't let us suffer. You said you'd cover any losses. Now, you're going back on your word?"
"It's not that I'm going back on my word. You haven't caused any substantial damage to Silvercrest Group. You should be grateful that I'm willing to introduce clients to you. Don't be greedy."
Amos sneered. "I see now. Mr. Scott used us as pawns. Now that we're no longer useful, he wants to discard us."
Jesse didn't deny it. He stood up and said, "I don't waste time and energy on people who have no value to me. I have other matters to attend to. Excuse me."
With that, he turned and walked towards the door.
The others looked furious and wanted to confront Jesse, but Amos stopped them.
After Jesse left, Amos closed the private room door and addressed the group. "We've become casualties in the battle between Seb and Jesse."
Initially, Jesse had threatened and coaxed them into breaking ties with Silvercrest Group and refusing to cooperate with them.
Now, Seb had acquired their main partner companies, cutting off their escape routes.
If this continued, they would all be bankrupt within a month.
"Mr. Hall, what should we do? Are we just going to watch our companies collapse?"
They had thought Jesse would cover their losses, but now they realized he had used them as disposable pawns.
Regret was futile at this point.
Amos sighed deeply. "We have no other choice but to continue pleading with Seb."
Someone looked troubled. "But he refuses to see us. Even if we want to plead, we can't find an opportunity."
"If we can't see him, we can see Sharon. If we can get Sharon to pass a message, that's enough."
Seb's refusal to see them was because they had sided with Jesse earlier.
If they could show Seb they were genuinely remorseful, he might give them another chance.
"Actually, my daughter is pretty close to Sophie. I can ask her to reach out to Sophie and have Sophie arrange a meeting with Sharon."
Amos looked at him. "Alright, let's do that."
Someone patted him on the back. "Nice, I didn't expect you to have an ace up your sleeve."
"I usually don't meddle in her friendships. Didn't think it would come in handy now."
"True, I'll go home and tell my daughter to make more friends too."
An hour later.
Sharon received a call from Sophie.
"Sharon, are you home? I need to talk to you about something."
Sharon was arranging flowers and replied, "I'm home. What's up? Can't you tell me over the phone?"
"It's not something I can discuss over the phone. I'll be there in half an hour."
Despite saying half an hour, Sophie arrived in just over ten minutes.
As Sophie stepped into the living room, she saw Sharon kneeling on a cushion by the sofa, arranging flowers in a vase.
"Sharon."
Sharon glanced at her. "You're here. Have a seat. I'll be done soon."
After placing the last few flowers in the vase, Sharon turned to Sophie. "What brings you here?"
Sophie bit her lip and slowly said, "A friend asked me to arrange a meeting with you."
Sharon wiped her hands, a hint of confusion in her eyes. "What friend? Why do they want to meet me?"
"Actually, she's not really a friend. She saved me once. I wasn't planning to help her today, but she used that favor to ask me, so I had to come."
Seeing Sophie's troubled expression, Sharon sat across from her.
"What is it? You're making me nervous with all this secrecy."
After a moment of silence, Sophie finally decided to speak. "It's related to Silvercrest Group."
Sharon frowned and said sternly, "Sophie, I don't get involved in Seb's work matters."
Sophie nodded. "I know, but I was asked to relay this. I'll explain the situation, and if you don't want to help, at least I can say I tried."
If it weren't for the favor owed, Sophie wouldn't have come to put Sharon in a difficult position.
"Alright, go ahead."
Sophie briefly explained how Excellence Corp and other companies had sided with Jesse to trouble Silvercrest Group.
At first, Sharon listened anxiously. When she heard that Seb had acquired those companies' partners, causing them financial trouble, she finally relaxed.
Sophie looked at her. "Sharon, the situation now is that they want to meet Seb, but he refuses. They hope you can ask Seb to resume cooperation with them."
"Sophie, I'm afraid I can't help you. They chose to oppose Seb initially. If I speak for them now, wouldn't I be opposing Seb too?"
Sophie shook her head. "Sharon, it's not that simple. Seb can indeed bankrupt these companies, and they deserve it. But their bankruptcy doesn't benefit Seb. Plus, acquiring those companies cost Seb a lot."
"If Seb can cooperate with them, they can join forces against Jesse. Otherwise, Seb will be fighting alone."
