Chapter 533 I Will Never Forgive Him
Sharon paused for a moment, looking up at him. "When did you get this?"
"On the way back. I saw it while waiting at a red light and thought it would look great on you, so I picked it up."
Sharon took the necklace. The pendant was shaped like a snowflake, sparkling beautifully under the light.
She fell in love with it at first sight.
"It's so pretty. I love it."
"I'm glad you do. So, does this mean I'm forgiven?"
Sharon nodded and smiled. "Alright, I'll forgive you because of the necklace!"
She walked over to the mirror, held the necklace up to her neck, and then placed it in the jewelry box nearby.
Seb looked puzzled. "You like it, so why not wear it?"
"I'll wear it next time I go out. For now, go check if Demetrius is awake. I'm going to freshen up."
"Okay."
Sharon turned and walked into the bathroom. When she came out, she saw Seb still standing in the bedroom. She couldn't help but ask, "Why are you still here?"
"I'm waiting for you."
"Alright then."
They walked downstairs together. As soon as they reached the living room, Demetrius woke up.
He opened his eyes and, seeing Seb, immediately became fully awake. He jumped off the couch and ran to Seb. "Daddy, you're back!"
Seb picked him up and smiled. "Yes, I'm back. Did you listen to your mom today?"
"I did, but..."
Seeing him lower his head, looking dejected, Seb and Sharon exchanged glances. Seb then asked, "What's wrong?"
Demetrius looked at Sharon, then at Seb, and said in a muffled voice, "I want to go to school. I don't want to stay at home all the time."
Although he was happy at first about not having to go to school, staying home all day had become too boring for him.
Seb raised an eyebrow, surprised that Demetrius actually wanted to go to school.
He put Demetrius down, knelt to look him in the eye, and said, "Demetrius, we kept you at home for your safety. But if you want to go to school, your mom and I will discuss it. Okay?"
Demetrius nodded. "Okay."
"Go wash your face. Dinner will be ready soon."
After Demetrius left, Seb turned to Sharon and said seriously, "Keeping Demetrius at home isn't a long-term solution. He needs to go to school."
Kids his age need to interact with other children, or they'll become increasingly introverted.
Sharon bit her lip and said, "I thought about it today too. Now that Leo is in custody, as long as we drop him off and pick him up every day, he should be fine at school."
"We'll have the driver wait outside half an hour early. There shouldn't be any problems."
Besides, Demetrius can't stay home forever. He has to go to school eventually.
"Alright, I'll contact his teacher after dinner and arrange for him to start school again tomorrow."
"Sounds good."
After dinner, while Demetrius played in the living room, Sharon and Seb went to the study.
Sharon contacted Demetrius's teacher and confirmed that he could return to school the next day. She then turned to Seb and said, "Karen came to see me today. She wants me to write a letter of forgiveness so Leo can get a lighter sentence."
Seb looked up at her. "What did you say?"
"Of course, I refused. Leo kidnapped Demetrius. I will never forgive him."
For a mother, her child is the most important thing.
If Leo had kidnapped her, she wouldn't hate him as much.
"Okay, I'll have someone keep an eye on her. She won't get near you or Demetrius again."
He had heard that Karen's husband had divorced her. With the divorce and Leo in jail, who knew what Karen might do?
"Alright, I'll let you get back to work."
Seb hesitated, unsure whether to tell Sharon what Daniel had said earlier.
Seeing him silent, Sharon asked, "What's wrong?"
Seb shook his head. "Nothing. Go ahead. I need to work."
Sharon found his behavior odd and frowned. "Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me?"
"No, I'm just still worried about Demetrius."
"Me too, but he has to go to school. We'll just have to be extra careful for a while."
With Leo in custody, no one else should target her or Demetrius.
"Okay."
Sharon left the study and returned to the living room. She called Demetrius over. "Demetrius, I talked to your teacher. You can go back to school tomorrow."
Demetrius's eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Yes. Go upstairs and pack your backpack."
"I'll do it right now!"
Excited, Demetrius ran upstairs, his joy evident in his every step.
Sharon watched him go, a smile tugging at her lips.
Meanwhile, at the police station holding cell.
Karen, led by Clyde, finally saw Leo.
Seeing his gaunt appearance, pale face, and cracked lips, Karen's eyes filled with tears.
"Leo... how are you?"
Leo looked at her coldly. "Why are you here?"
Karen's face fell, and she choked up. "Leo, I came to see you. No matter how long you're sentenced, I'll wait for you."
Seeing no reaction from Leo, she bit her lip. "I went to see Sharon today. I begged her to write a letter of forgiveness, but she refused... I never realized she could be so cruel!"
Thinking about Sharon's cold refusal that afternoon, Karen was filled with anger.
Leo's eyes flickered, and he said coldly, "Don't go to her again."
Hearing this, Karen became furious. "After everything she's done to you, you're still defending her? Are you out of your mind?"
"What happens to me is none of your business. Just live your life as if you never had a son."
Karen was nearly hysterical. "Live my life? What life? I'm divorced, kicked out by Kimball. I have nothing. How am I supposed to live? Beg on the streets?"
Leo's eyes softened slightly. "I bought you an insurance policy. You'll get fifty thousand dollars a month. If you spend wisely, it should be enough."
"What?"
Karen looked at him in disbelief. "When did you buy it? Why didn't I know?"
"It doesn't matter when. Just go. My lawyer will help you with the paperwork."
