Chapter 113 Feeling Disgusted Just by Seeing Him

Sharon hung out with Sophie for a bit, then left when Maria showed up.

The next morning, Sharon saw Joseph as soon as she stepped outside for work.

She frowned, planning to ignore him, but he quickly approached her.

"Ms. Wright, Mr. Alex asked me to give this to you."

Sharon glanced at the jewelry box in his hand, her face blank.

"What does Alex want now?"

Joseph, looking nervous, replied, "It's an apology gift from Mr. Alex. He didn't have the guts to come himself, so he sent me."

Sharon took the box, opened it, and saw an expensive diamond necklace.

Joseph sighed in relief, but then Sharon tossed the box and necklace into a nearby trash can.

"Ms. Wright!"

Sharon looked him in the eye and said, "Tell him I won't accept such a half-hearted apology."

Without waiting for Joseph's reaction, she drove off.

When Alex heard Sharon had trashed the necklace, his face darkened.

But remembering locking her in the basement for two days without food, he found that her anger made sense.

"I get it. You can go back to work," said Alex.

Joseph, relieved, nodded, "Okay."

That evening, Sharon bought some food and headed home. As soon as she got off the elevator, she saw Alex at her door, and her brow furrowed.

"What are you doing here?" she questioned.

Seeing the wariness in her eyes, Alex felt a pang, and his gaze darkened.

"Sharon, I'm here to take you home."

"Go back with you, just to be locked in a basement again?" Sharon's tone was icy and sarcastic.

Fearing meeting her eyes, Alex looked down, "Sharon, I was wrong to lock you up without knowing the truth, but you didn't explain clearly either, did you?"

Sharon sneered, "The day you called to accuse me, I sent you a message on Facebook about Sophie's fall. Did you check it?"

Alex was stunned. He remembered that but had deleted the message in anger without reading it.

So, Sharon had explained everything in those messages.

Feeling even guiltier, Alex said, "Sharon, I'm sorry. I was too angry and didn't read your message, so I didn't know."

"You didn't know the truth and didn't believe me, so you locked me in the basement?"

Thinking of those two dark days, Sharon felt only disgust for Alex.

After hurting her, he thought a simple apology would fix everything.

"Sharon, I know you're very angry, but I truly realize my mistake. Please come back with me. You can punish me however you want, okay?"

"Alex, stop pretending. I don't buy a word you say anymore."

Seeing her stubborn expression, Alex was silent for a few seconds before saying, "Alright, if you won't come back, I'll move in with you."

"You're utterly shameless!"

"Sharon, I just want to be with you. We're married; living together is reasonable and legal."

Sharon knew that if Alex forced his way in, there would be nothing she could do.

Even if she moved, Alex would follow.

And since they were married, the police wouldn't intervene.

Thinking about it, Sharon felt a mix of anger and helplessness.

The only way to get away from Alex was to get a divorce.

But first, Robert's surgery had to happen, or Alex would keep using it against her.

If she relied on herself, she'd have to wait in line for a kidney donor, and who knew how long that would take?

Sharon looked at Alex coldly, saying, "I'll move back if you want."

Alex's face lit up, but Sharon's next words wiped the smile off his face.

"I'll move back after my dad's kidney transplant is done."

The hallway went silent.

Alex's hand tightened. If he hadn't given that kidney to Ava's father in anger, he would've agreed right away.

But now, with no new donor, he couldn't promise anything.

Seeing his silence, Sharon thought he was planning to keep using the kidney donor issue to threaten her, her gaze turning icy.

"If you're not willing, then don't come looking for me. I won't agree to move back. Of course, you can also tie me up and take me back. You've done it before, haven't you?"

"Sharon, I promise I won't do that again."

Sharon mocked, "You've made countless promises before, and you never kept them."

Alex's face revealed embarrassment. He opened his mouth but didn't know how to defend himself.

After a moment, he said quietly, "Give me some time for the surgery."

"Fine, but don't come looking for me during that time. I don't want to see you."

Seeing her cold expression, Alex felt a mix of bitterness and finally gave in.

"Okay, I understand."

Once Alex got in the elevator and left, Sharon opened the door and went home.

As soon as he got downstairs, Alex called Joseph.

"Find a matching kidney donor for my father-in-law within a month."

Hanging up, Alex left with a grim face.

Soon, it was Sandra's birthday.

As Sharon got off work, she saw Alex's car parked by the roadside.

She planned to ignore it, but Alex quickly got out and walked up to her.

"Sharon, tonight is Grandma's birthday. Come with me to her party."

Sharon didn't like Sandra much, but since she was an elder, it wouldn't be right not to go. People might criticize the Wright family's manners.

"Did you get a gift?"

Alex nodded, "Yes, Grandma likes antiques. I bought a vase at an auction."

"Let's go."

Sharon walked toward Alex's car, then realized he wasn't following. She turned back, puzzled.

"Why aren't you coming?"

Alex snapped out of it and quickly walked toward Sharon.

"Nothing. I just spaced out. By the way, let's go home and change first."

Alex had thought he'd have to argue with Sharon to get her to go, but it went surprisingly smoothly.

Sharon was in casual clothes, and Sandra's party would be full of guests. Casual wear wouldn't be appropriate.

"Alright."

In less than half an hour, Alex's car stopped at the villa.

"I had someone prepare a dress. It's on your bed. Just put it on."

Sharon nodded, got out, and walked into the villa.

Back in the bedroom, she picked up the dress and tried it on, only to find it was very loose and not her size.

Sharon looked down at the dress, her expression turning cold.
