Chapter 580 Once You Turn Back, You Will Never Want to Leave
"Don't think I won't do it!" Sharon stayed calm. "Whether you will or not doesn't matter to me. I'm going to change now. Please move."
When Daisy didn't move, Sharon just brushed past her and headed to her room.
By the time Sharon came back to the living room, she saw Daisy sitting next to Andrew, whispering something to him.
Sharon walked over and stopped a few steps away. "Andrew, we can go now."
Andrew looked up at Sharon and smiled. "Alright, Ms. Roach."
He then turned to Daisy. "Daisy, thanks for telling me those things about Ms. Roach. See you next time."
Seeing the smile on Andrew's face and his lack of intention to distance himself from Sharon, Daisy stood up and blocked his way.
"Andrew, even knowing she has a husband and kid back in the United States of Atlantis, you still want to be with her?"
Andrew frowned, his gaze at Daisy now filled with displeasure. "Daisy, Ms. Roach is your sister. I hope you can respect her. I'm just taking her out to dinner because we're friends, nothing more. I hope I won't hear you belittling your sister again."
"She's not my sister! She's just a..."
Meeting Andrew's disappointed gaze, Daisy couldn't bring herself to finish the sentence.
She forced herself to calm down and stared into Andrew's eyes. "You say you're taking her out because you're friends. Aren't we friends too? Why don't you invite me along?"
"Because Ms. Roach was attentive in class today, while you were disruptive. If you learn to pay attention in the class next time, I'll invite you too."
Andrew didn't look at her again and turned to Sharon. "Ms. Roach, sorry to keep you waiting. Let's go."
"Alright."
Before leaving, Sharon glanced at the dejected Daisy, then calmly looked away and left with Andrew.
An hour later, Andrew's car stopped in front of an upscale restaurant.
They got out, and Andrew led Sharon to a private room, handing her a note. "He's waiting for you at this location. You'll need to leave through the back door. Someone will pick you up, but you only have an hour."
As he spoke, Andrew pushed a section of the wall, revealing a hidden door.
Behind the door was a passage leading directly to the restaurant's back exit.
Sharon nodded. "Thank you, Andrew."
After she stepped through the hidden door, Andrew closed it, and the wall returned to its original state, showing no trace of the door.
A few minutes later, Sharon got into a car waiting at the back door of the restaurant.
The driver, a Stellarian, started the car as soon as Sharon got in.
In less than ten minutes, the car stopped in front of a villa.
Sharon took a deep breath, opened the car door, and walked to the villa's entrance, pressing the doorbell.
Soon, she heard footsteps from inside.
When the door opened, Sharon saw the face she had been longing to see day and night.
Her voice trembled as she spoke. "Seb."
"Come inside first."
Sharon steadied her emotions and walked into the villa.
Despite it being daytime, all the windows on the first floor were covered, and without the lights on, it would have been pitch dark.
As soon as Sharon stepped inside, Seb pulled her into a tight embrace.
Sharon hugged him back, their bodies pressed closely together.
After several minutes, Seb finally let go, looking down at her. "You've lost weight. Andrew told me you were sick, but I couldn't come to see you. Was it very bad?"
Sharon shook her head. "It was tough at first, but I'm much better now."
Seeing Sharon's lightly made-up face, Seb knew she was trying to reassure him by saying she was almost recovered.
In the past, Sharon always met him with a bare face, never wearing makeup.
Makeup could be for beauty or to improve one's complexion.
Seb felt a pang of heartache and whispered, "Sharon, I'm sorry. It's my weakness that caused you to suffer. Just hold on a bit longer, and I'll bring you back home."
Sharon nodded, her eyes full of trust. "I believe you. By the way, how did Andrew end up helping us?"
When Andrew first came to the estate to teach her, he hadn't been in contact with Seb yet. Otherwise, he would have mentioned it during the first lesson.
Seb led her to the couch and spoke softly. "Andrew was indeed Carolyn's man at first. But there's something you don't know. Andrew's family used to be as powerful as the Stoll family. After some incidents, they declined. I just told him that Carolyn was behind his family's downfall."
Sharon frowned. "Just that, and Andrew agreed to work with you?"
"Of course not. He had a sister who died in an accident when their family fell. He wants revenge for her, so he agreed to cooperate with me."
"I see."
Seb looked at Sharon's calm expression and said gently, "Let's not talk about others. I made a meal for you. Let's eat first."
Sharon wanted to tell Seb about her plan to comply with Carolyn for now, but seeing the dark circles under his eyes and the fatigue he couldn't hide, she felt a pang of guilt and pain.
If it weren't for her, Seb wouldn't be so exhausted.
"Alright."
They sat at the dining table, and seeing all her favorite dishes, Sharon's eyes welled up.
"Seb, thank you."
Seeing the tears in her eyes, Seb couldn't help but tease her. "You're this moved over a meal? You're too easily satisfied."
"It's not just the meal. You've had a tough time back home, haven't you?"
She had thought that after she left, Carolyn would provide resources to the Silvercrest Group, allowing it to develop smoothly.
But she hadn't expected Carolyn to go back on her word and target the Silvercrest Group instead.
If it weren't for the later cooperation with Carolyn's rivals, the Silvercrest Group might have gone bankrupt by now.
"It wasn't tough. It's all in the past. Try the fish I made."
Seb cut a piece of fish and placed it in Sharon's bowl, looking at her expectantly.
Sharon wiped her tears, forced a smile, and took a bite of the fish.
"How is it?"
Sharon looked at Seb and nodded. "It's delicious."
"Then try the other dishes."
Sharon tasted the roast meat, saying, under Seb's expectant gaze, "It's really good! How did you get so good at cooking?"
"I asked a chef how to make these dishes before I came. I was worried they wouldn't turn out well, but your reaction says otherwise."
"Yes, when we're together as a family, you have to cook for me every day!"
Seb looked at her lovingly. "Alright, whatever you say."
"By the way, how's Demetrius?"
She had been so focused on asking about Seb and Andrew that she forgot to ask about Demetrius.
Thinking of this, Sharon felt a pang of guilt.
"Demetrius is doing well, but he stopped talking much after you left. He spends most of his time in his room, except for school and meals. I don't know what he's doing."
Hearing this, Sharon's heart ached. "It's my fault."
"It's not your fault. Don't blame yourself. Many in the Stoll family are unhappy with Carolyn, and she's very autocratic. She won't hold the position of head of the family for long. We'll be together again soon."
"Alright."
"Enough about that. Let's eat first and talk about other things later."
Sharon didn't have much appetite, but knowing Seb had made the meal, she forced herself to eat a lot.
After finishing the meal, their time together was almost up.
"Seb, I have to go. Andrew said we could only be together for an hour. Any longer, and there's a risk of being discovered."
Seb nodded. "Alright. I'll stay in Stellaria for now. I've placed someone in Carolyn's estate to pass messages to you. If there's an emergency, you can contact her."
"Okay, I'm leaving now."
"Alright."
Seb walked Sharon to the door. Just as she was about to leave, he hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Sharon, don't be afraid. I'll stay in Stellaria with you until the day we can openly embrace."
Sharon felt a wave of sadness but held back her tears.
"Okay."
Sharon didn't dare look back, fearing she wouldn't be able to leave if she did.
Carolyn's estate was large and cold, like a cage trapping her inside.
And now, she had to return to that cage.
Seb reluctantly let go of Sharon.
Sharon opened the door and quickly walked out to the car.
It wasn't until she returned to the restaurant's private room that her emotions settled.
Andrew looked at her and said, "Ms. Roach, you'll have many more chances to see Mr. Smith. Don't be too sad."
"Alright, thank you, Andrew."
"No need to thank me. I'm helping myself too."
For years, Andrew had been searching for the person responsible for his sister's death. If it weren't for Seb, he might still be manipulated by Carolyn.
Just thinking about how Carolyn had orchestrated his sister's death to consolidate the Stoll family's power, even if unintentionally, made Andrew's hatred grow, threatening to consume everything.
Once Sharon had fully calmed down, Andrew drove her back.
As soon as Andrew's car stopped at the estate's entrance, a servant approached. "Andrew, Mrs. Stoll asked you to go to her study when you return. She has something to discuss with you."
Andrew nodded. "Alright, I understand."
He got out of the car and walked in with Sharon. Sharon was worried that Carolyn might have discovered Seb's presence in Stellaria and Andrew's role in their meeting.
Noticing Sharon's unease, Andrew whispered, "Ms. Roach, don't worry. I think Carolyn wants to talk about Daisy."
