Chapter 522 Relying on Herself
Ayla was willing to make such a promise to get shares in the Silvercrest Group now, and she could just as easily go back on her word for her own benefit later.
So, Seb wasn't going to give her any chance to get into the Silvercrest Group.
Ayla's expression changed, clearly not expecting Seb to refuse so directly.
However, the 10% shares of the Bridges Group, if left in her hands, would not only be worthless but would also be forcibly taken back by Garry to give to Damon.
Rather than give them to that loser, she might as well sell the shares herself!
"Mr. Smith, can't we negotiate a bit more? Even 0.5% of the shares would be fine."
Seb's face remained cold, "Ms. Bridges, please leave."
Seeing Seb's firm attitude, Ayla realized that getting shares in the Silvercrest Group was impossible.
She took a deep breath and looked Seb straight in the eye, "Mr. Smith, since you don't want to exchange shares of the Silvercrest Group, how about I sell you the 10% shares I have?"
Seb put down his documents and raised an eyebrow at Ayla.
Noticing her eagerness to sell her shares to him, Seb remained indifferent, "Ms. Bridges, I can buy your shares, but I can only offer fifty million dollars."
"What?" Ayla's eyes widened in disbelief, her voice cold, "Mr. Smith, are you joking with me?"
The 10% shares of the Bridges Group were worth at least a hundred million dollars, and he was only willing to offer fifty million?
Seb looked at her without any expression, "Ms. Bridges, you heard correctly, fifty million dollars. If you don't want to sell, you can leave now. After all, you're the one looking to sell, not me looking to buy."
The shares of the Bridges Group were of little importance to him, so offering fifty million dollars was already generous.
Ayla gripped the armrest of her wheelchair tightly, her face extremely grim.
Fifty million dollars was a significant loss for her, but if she didn't sell quickly, she might not even get that much in the end.
Better to sell to Seb than leave them for Damon.
"Fine, I'll sell! But you must transfer the money immediately after signing the contract!"
Seb's eyes flashed with surprise, as he clearly had not expected her to agree to the price.
"Ms. Bridges, is there something wrong with the shares you're holding?"
Ayla was momentarily speechless, her face darkening, "Don't worry, there's absolutely no problem. And if there is, you can always find me."
Seb thought for a moment, then nodded, "Alright, I'll have my secretary prepare the contract right away."
In less than half an hour, Paul had the contract ready.
Ayla signed the share transfer contract, and within five minutes, her bank card received a notification of fifty million dollars.
She looked at Seb and said, "Mr. Smith, if there's nothing else, I'll be leaving. I have other matters to attend to."
"Alright, I won't see you out, Ms. Bridges. Goodbye."
Ayla left the Silvercrest Group and immediately transferred all the money in her account to an overseas account before heading home.
As soon as she returned to the villa, she saw Damon's car parked at the entrance.
She sneered and wheeled herself inside.
Damon was sitting on the sofa, his face showing signs of impatience, clearly having waited for a long time.
Seeing Ayla, he immediately walked up, "Ayla, what will it take for you to transfer the shares to me?"
He had just joined the board, and without shares, the other shareholders wouldn't listen to him, making it difficult to accomplish anything.
Ayla looked at him coldly, "You want the shares? Fine, buy them."
Damon's face stiffened. If he were willing to buy the shares, he wouldn't have come to her.
"Ayla, don't push it. Don't forget, Grandpa gave you the 10% shares of the Bridges Group to get you to agree to divorce Leo. You did nothing to earn those shares, so why should you get them?"
Ayla raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Why? You just said it yourself. The 10% shares were my compensation for divorcing Leo. Why should I give them to you for free? Just because you have a big face?"
"You!" Damon's face darkened, pointing at her coldly, "Don't forget, once you go abroad, the Bridges family will be sending you living expenses every month. If you anger me now, don't expect to get a single penny!"
"Fine, I don't need it. But don't think you can get something for nothing!"
Expecting to get her shares without offering anything in return was shameless!
"Fine, don't regret it!" Damon stormed out, slamming the villa door loudly.
Carol, who had been watching from the side, finally dared to step forward, "Ms. Bridges, you've offended both Mr. Garry Bridges and Mr. Damon Bridges. What will you do in the future?"
Ayla glanced at her, expressionless, "Do you think they can be relied on in the future, given their current state?"
She had come to understand that one could only rely on oneself.
Carol wanted to persuade her further, but Ayla impatiently waved her hand, "Enough, I don't want to hear it. If you have time, go to Leo's place and bring Jerold back."
She had heard about Leo's illegal activities involving Silvercrest Group's core data. This time, it would be hard for him to get out, and Jerold would need to be brought back to her.
"Alright, I'll go soon."
"Okay, I'm going to the study. Don't bother me unless it's important."
With that, she wheeled herself to the study.
Watching her back, Carol sighed and didn't dare to say more. She turned to find the driver to discuss picking up Jerold.
In the study, Ayla called her assistant and asked her to arrange a meeting with Leo.
Her assistant worked quickly, and the next morning, she came to pick up Ayla.
Seeing Leo again, Ayla's face showed no emotion, "I'm here to tell you that I'm leaving the country soon. Jerold will only suffer if he stays with you, so I'm taking him with me."
Leo looked haggard, with stubble on his chin, appearing ten years older.
He was silent for a moment, then nodded, "I understand. I saved some money for him before. It should be enough for you and Jerold to live comfortably abroad for the rest of your lives."
Ayla's eyes flashed with surprise, then she sneered, "Even if you did that, I won't thank you. I won't speak well of you to Jerold either."
If it weren't for Leo, she wouldn't be in this situation.
Being abandoned by the Bridges family was all Leo's fault!
Leo's expression remained cold, "I don't need your thanks. Don't mention me to Jerold in the future. Just consider me dead."
"Don't worry, I won't. I hope this is the last time we meet."
Leo looked at her and said slowly, "Please take care of Jerold."
Ayla didn't respond, turning and leaving immediately.
