Chapter 332 We Can Never Be Together

Sharon's heart clenched, and her face went ghostly white. Demetrius had actually jumped out of a third-floor window! She couldn't wrap her head around how desperate he must've been. The more she thought about it, the more her heart hurt, and tears started streaming down her face.

The person on the other end of the line got suspicious when they didn't hear anything. "Why aren't you talking? You're not Alex, are you?" the voice demanded.

Sharon bit her lip hard, didn't say a word, and hung up the phone. She headed straight to the bathroom, filled a basin with water, and dumped it on Alex's head.

Alex woke up with a start, realizing he was tied up. Sharon stood over him, glaring. He was stunned for a moment, then smirked. "Sharon, I didn't think you'd get this smart after five years."

Sharon's eyes were cold. "Cut the crap. Where's Demetrius?"

"You wanna know? Go find him yourself. Metropolis isn't that big. Maybe if you search for a half a month, you'll get lucky," Alex sneered.

Sharon wasn't surprised Alex wasn't going to spill. "You kidnapped Demetrius to get money from Seb, right? Do you really think you can still get away? If you tell me where Demetrius is now, I can get your lawyer to go easy on you."

Alex grinned, full of confidence. "Sharon, do you think I'm an idiot? Since I can't leave now, I'm definitely not telling you where Demetrius is. If he dies, you and Seb will probably never be together, right?"

Sharon slapped him hard, disgust written all over her face. "Alex, you're disgusting. I deeply rue the time I spent with you."

"Haha, regret all you want, it won't change a thing. Besides, you and Seb are the ones who made me like this, aren't you?" Alex shot back.

With Alex tied up and no way to escape, he had no plans to run. Even if he died, he wanted to make Seb and Sharon's lives miserable, so they'd hate each other forever.

Seeing the madness in his eyes, Sharon gripped the lamp tighter, her hatred for him growing. Alex had ruined her life. Now that things were finally getting better, he wanted to wreck it all over again. If only she'd never met Alex!

Noticing the loathing in Sharon's eyes, Alex laughed. If he couldn't have Sharon's love, having her hatred would be enough.

Suddenly, Alex's phone rang again. Seeing it was Seb, Sharon quickly answered. "How is it? Have you found Demetrius?"

There was a brief silence before Seb's deep voice came through. "We haven't found him yet. My people have located you and will be there to rescue you in about three minutes."

Hearing this, Sharon got even more anxious and quickly said, "I'm safe right now, so don't waste time on me. Go find Demetrius! The kidnapper just called and said Demetrius jumped out of a third-floor window. He must be hurt and hiding from those people! Don't worry about me. Finding Demetrius is the priority!"

"Don't worry, we've already got a lead on him. We should find him within half an hour. Staying with Alex will only put you in more danger," Seb insisted.

Sharon, her voice rising with anxiety, said, "I told you not to worry about me! Demetrius is the priority! Where is he? I'll go there right now!"

The other end of the line went silent.

"Say something!" she urged.

"It's too dangerous there. I'll find Demetrius myself. You just need to leave with my people when they arrive," Seb instructed firmly.

Before Sharon could respond, Seb hung up. Paul, standing nearby, looked worried. "Mr. Smith, those people are armed. Maybe we should call the police."

Seb's eyes were cold. "Those people are desperate. If the police get involved, they might get angry and kill Demetrius. Stay here and keep me updated. I'll go ahead."

Paul wished to argue, but upon seeing the determination in Seb's eyes, he could only say, "Alright, but please be careful!"

Alex, who had overheard the conversation, smirked. Seb probably didn't tell Sharon where Demetrius was because he feared the kidnappers' guns. However, since Seb was already going, having Sharon accompany him would undoubtedly make it more interesting. It was a pity Sharon might die, but Alex thought it was better for her to die than to be with Seb. If he couldn't have Sharon, he'd rather see her destroyed.

"Sharon, you want to know where Demetrius is? I'll tell you," Alex offered slyly.

Soon, Seb's men broke into Alex's villa. But aside from Alex, who was tied up on the floor, there was no sign of Sharon.

Seb had just arrived at the abandoned flour mill on the outskirts of town when he got a call from Paul.

"Mr. Smith, our people went over, but they didn't find Ms. Roach. She must have already headed your way," Paul reported.

Seb's face turned cold. "Useless idiots!" He hung up and dialed Alex's number. It connected, but no one answered. He put away his phone and walked quickly inside with a cold expression.

The flour mill had been abandoned for over twenty years, with weeds growing everywhere. The walls were peeling, looking dilapidated. Next to the mill were rundown houses that used to be workers' dormitories and canteens. Seb walked quickly inside, searching for any sign of Demetrius.

Unbeknownst to him, Sharon entered from the other side of the mill at the same time. Shortly after, several of Seb's men appeared, dragging a burly man named Glenn.

"Mr. Smith, we caught this guy in the canteen at the northeast corner, but he refuses to talk," one of Seb's men reported.

Seb's eyes were cold. "Break his legs first."

As soon as he finished speaking, Glenn let out a scream, his face turning pale, and cold sweat pouring down. "Where are the others?" Seb demanded.

Glenn gritted his teeth and forced a cold smile. "Even if you kill me, I won't tell you. Besides, you should worry about whether your son will be worse off than me once they find him."

Seb's eyes narrowed, and he said slowly, "I'm not the only one with a son. You have a son in high school in Skylight City, right? Do you think your son will survive if anything happens to mine?"

Glenn's smile froze, and his face turned even paler.
