Chapter 350 With the Aim of Marriage

"This time, I swear it's for real!" Randy said, trying to sound sincere.

Seb lowered his gaze, clearly having no intention of acknowledging him further.

Randy let out a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of his unspoken feelings. "Uncle Seb, you still up for that drink?"

Seb shot back, "When did I ever say I wanted to drink with you?"

Randy went quiet.

He turned the car around and drove Seb back to the villa. As soon as they pulled up, they saw Sharon and Zachary coming out with Demetrius. They all looked so happy, like a picture-perfect family.

Randy could feel the icy vibe coming off Seb and instinctively held his breath, not wanting to set him off.

The group noticed Seb pretty quickly. Sharon pursed her lips and said, "Mr. Smith, I'll take Demetrius back now."

Seb didn't say anything, just stared at Zachary holding Demetrius's hand. The thought of Demetrius having spent several years with Zachary and growing fond of him stirred a wave of irritation within Seb. Winning Demetrius over was going to be a real challenge.

Sharon frowned, confused by Seb's silence. Why was he acting so weird today? It was strange enough that he had asked her to take him to the auction.

Zachary, feeling Seb's stare, looked up and met his eyes, calm and unbothered.

When they got closer, Seb finally looked at Sharon and said, "Got any plans this weekend? Demetrius wants us to take him to the zoo."

"No plans. The zoo's close to us. How about we meet at the entrance at 9 AM on Saturday?" Sharon replied.

Seb's gloomy face softened a bit. He glanced at Zachary and said, "Alright."

"Then we'll head back now," Sharon said.

Seb nodded. "Drive safe."

After they left, Seb turned to Randy. "Didn't you want to drink? Let's go."

Randy stayed quiet. He didn't really feel like drinking anymore, sensing Seb's bad mood. "Uncle Seb, it's late. You should get some rest. Let's drink another time."

Before Seb could say anything, Randy jumped into the car and sped off.

Watching Randy's car disappear, Seb squinted and walked back into the villa.

On the way back, Zachary looked at Sharon. "I want to go to the zoo with you this weekend too."

Sharon was a bit surprised by his request. But then she remembered taking Seb to the auction tonight and figured he might be feeling a bit insecure.

"I'll have to ask Demetrius," Sharon said.

She wasn't sure if Demetrius wanted to go to the zoo with just her and Seb.

"I'll ask him," Zachary said.

As they stopped at a red light, Zachary turned to look at the back seat and saw Demetrius asleep in his car seat. He chuckled. "Demetrius is out cold. I'll ask him tomorrow."

"I can ask him myself. If you don't want me alone with Seb, I'll make sure to avoid that," Sharon said.

Zachary glanced at her and said softly, "Sharon, I admit I don't want you around Seb too much, but I also want to be part of Demetrius's life. I'm with you because I see us getting married someday."

Sharon looked down, a mix of emotions flickering in her eyes. The nicer Zachary was to her, the guiltier she felt. Because she just couldn't return his feelings, and sometimes, she felt really bad for him.

"Zachary, you don't have to be so good to me. It makes me feel pressured," Sharon said.

Zachary's grip on the steering wheel tightened, and a hint of bitterness crossed his face. "Sharon, is it that you still can't feel anything more than friendship for me?"

Sharon was quiet for a few seconds before slowly saying, "I am uncertain, but I believe falling for you is possible. Please give me a bit more time.”

From that moment until they reached Sharon's apartment, the silence in the car remained unbroken.

After parking, Zachary didn't get out right away. He turned to Sharon. "Sharon, you can't rush love. Don't force yourself. If you ever feel you can't like me, please tell me. I'd rather you be free and happy than feel pressured to be with me because of my five years of effort. Your happiness is the most important thing to me."

Sharon felt a wave of sadness and her nose tingled. "But that's not fair to you."

Zachary smiled. "There's no fairness in this. Everything I've done for you and Demetrius over the past five years has been voluntary. And you've given me feedback too. I've been very happy these years. Don't let them bind you or cloud your judgment."

He liked Sharon and was willing to do anything for her. If she could return his feelings, it would be a blessing. If not, he wouldn't blame anyone. Life was short, and meeting someone he liked was already a blessing.

The car fell silent again. After a long time, Sharon finally spoke, "Alright, I understand. I'll think about it."

"Okay, I'll walk you up," Zachary said.

Unbuckling his seatbelt, Zachary got out, opened the back door, and gently picked up the sleeping Demetrius. He closed the door and walked with Sharon into the apartment building.

After seeing Demetrius and Sharon home, Zachary left.

In the living room, Sharon sat on the couch, contemplating her feelings for Zachary. Without Zachary, she wouldn't be who she was today, and she was very grateful to him. Over the past five years, they had been through a lot, and Zachary was very important to her. But she wasn't sure if she loved him.

After thinking for a long time without any conclusion, Sharon took out her phone and messaged Sophie.

Seeing her message, Sophie couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Sharon was asking her how to determine if she had feelings for someone. After a moment's thought, Sophie called Sharon directly.

When the call connected, Sophie said, "It's simple. Just think about whether you want to kiss him, have sex with him, or if you get nervous when you accidentally touch him."

Sharon thought about it. There were times when she felt nervous touching Zachary. But she had never thought about kissing him.

"Okay, I understand," Sharon said.

"Why are you asking me this? You're already with Zachary. Can't you tell if you like him?" Sophie asked.

Sharon lowered her gaze and said somewhat dejectedly, "I feel like I like him, but I've never thought about kissing or having sex with him."
