Chapter 442 Not Worth Imitating

Tonight was Delbert's birthday bash. Randy had planned to just drop off a gift and bounce, but as soon as he stepped into the private room, Delbert dragged Electra over to apologize to him.

After a lot of convincing, Randy finally agreed to stick around and join the celebration.

They drank a ton and then started playing games. When Randy lost, he had to take a dare, and the group dared him to kiss Electra through a tissue.

He was about to refuse when Sophie barged in, looking pissed.

Sophie glared at him, her eyes full of disappointment. "Randy, I told you before, I wouldn't interfere with you and your friends, but clearly, you've betrayed me."

If Randy really cared about her, he wouldn't keep hanging out with Electra without boundaries, and their friends wouldn't be pushing him to do stuff like this.

Randy shot back, "Sophie, it's just a game, and I've explained it to you. Do you really have to make such a big deal out of it?"

Sophie laughed bitterly, "Yeah, maybe I'm being too serious. Go back and keep playing with them."

With that, Sophie turned and stormed out.

Randy wanted to go after her, but Daniel blocked his way. "Mr. Smith, it's better to let Sophie cool off right now."

"Get out of my way!" Randy's face was icy, and he glared at Daniel with anger.

Daniel didn't back down and raised an eyebrow. "What if I don't?"

Sophie had just left the club when she got a call from the manager. "Ms. Lee, Mr. Thomas and Mr. Smith are fighting!"

Sophie paused, then frowned and said, "It's not my problem, call the cops."

She hung up and got into her car, driving off. Randy and Daniel's fight was none of her business.

Inside the club, Randy and Daniel were going at it, breaking a bunch of stuff. The police had to step in to break it up, and both of them ended up at the station.

Early in the morning, Seb got a call from the police and went to bail Randy out. When Randy saw Seb, his tough guy act disappeared.

Seb had the lawyer handle the paperwork and stood next to Randy, looking down at him. "You've really outdone yourself, getting into a fight and landing in the police station."

His voice was calm, but Randy couldn't help but shiver. "Uncle Seb, I didn't mean to."

If he had known Seb would come, he definitely wouldn't have been so reckless. Impulsiveness really was a devil.

Seb's lips curled into a cold smile, "Didn't mean to?"

Randy stayed silent, hanging his head, not daring to speak.

Soon, the lawyer came back. "Mr. Seb Smith, Mr. Randy Smith can leave now."

"Okay." Seb turned and walked out, not caring if Randy followed.

Outside the station, Randy quickly caught up with Seb. "Uncle Seb, I'm sorry for making you come out so late to deal with my mess... I promise I won't fight again."

Seb gave him a cold look. "Get lost, I don't want to see you."

Randy replied, "Okay, I'll get lost right away!"

He quickly hailed a cab and left, afraid Seb might call him back if he took too long.

The lawyer walked up, looking worried. "Mr. Seb Smith, the fight involving Mr. Randy Smith can't be covered up."

Seb said, "I know, you can go back now. He needs to learn a lesson."

Daniel had been trying all sorts of ways to mess with the Smith Group and Silvercrest Group lately. Instead of being more careful, Randy got into a fight with Daniel at the club. How stupid.

The lawyer didn't say more and lowered his head. "Okay."

Seb got back to the villa, and it was already past one o'clock. He opened the bedroom door and saw Sharon was still awake, a trace of guilt flashing in his eyes. "Sharon, I'm sorry for making you stay up late."

When Seb got the call earlier, Sharon was also woken up.

Sharon shook her head. "It's okay. Is Randy's situation sorted out?"

Seb nodded. "Yeah, it's taken care of."

Sharon said, "That's good. Change into your pajamas and get some sleep."

Seb replied, "Okay."

Early the next morning, Randy had just woken up when he got a call from Theron. "Mr. Smith, the video of you and Mr. Thomas fighting at the club last night is all over the internet. Everyone's talking about it, and it's hurting the company's image."

Randy rubbed his aching temples and said coldly, "Find a way to take it down. I'll be at the office soon."

By the time he got to the office, more than half an hour had passed. Several shareholders were waiting at his office door, all looking pretty pissed.

Seeing him, the leading shareholder sneered, "Mr. Smith, do you realize how much damage your fight last night has done to the company? Do you know what people are saying online? They're saying that as the general manager of the Smith Group, you can't even control your emotions and behavior, so how can you manage the company? They're saying the Smith Group's future is bleak!"

He added, "The Smith Group's stock is definitely going to drop today. This is mainly your fault. If you can't handle it, we'll hold a board meeting to remove you from your position as general manager!"

After saying that, they stormed off.

Randy's face was grim as he pushed open the office door and walked in.

Theron followed him. "Mr. Smith, we can't suppress that news. It seems someone is deliberately blowing it up."

Randy said, "Even if we can't suppress it, we have to. Use any means necessary to get the video off the internet as soon as possible!"

Theron replied, "Got it."

After Theron left, Randy picked up his phone and opened Facebook. Under the video of him fighting with Daniel, all the comments were mocking him.

"The boss is fighting. Is this because he can't win in business, so he resorts to physical fights? Looks like his business skills aren't that great!"

"This is Mr. Smith personally 'competing' with someone. Is the company's performance so bad that he can only vent his frustration through fighting?"

"The usually high-and-mighty general manager of the Smith Group is now fighting like a street thug. Truly 'eye-opening'."

As he read, Randy suddenly noticed something off. Why were most of the online comments mocking him, but very few were criticizing Daniel?

After thinking for a moment, he sneered and called Theron in. "Don't bother suppressing that video. Find some internet trolls to smear Daniel. I'll post a statement on my personal Facebook to clarify this mess."

Theron was taken aback. "Mr. Smith, the video shows you starting the fight. If we don't take it down, it will greatly affect the Smith Group's reputation."

Randy's expression was indifferent. "Don't worry about it. Once the hype dies down, it'll be fine."

Theron said, "Alright, I'll get on it."

After Theron left, Randy immediately edited and posted on Facebook.

[Hey everyone, I'm Randy Smith, the general manager of the Smith Group. Sorry for taking up public space with my personal issues. The video of me fighting with Mr. Thomas, the president of the Thomas Group, is real. However, the incident started because Mr. Thomas was instigating while I was arguing with my girlfriend and stopped me from chasing after her when she left in anger. I'm the general manager of the Smith Group, but I'm also just a regular guy. I was wrong to start the fight, and I've reflected on it. This behavior is not worth emulating. I hope everyone can learn from this. Lastly, I apologize again and hope everyone won't pay too much attention to this matter.]
