Chapter 379 What Right Do I Have to Be Angry?

Seb was rocking a sharp dark suit, standing tall with a serious look on his face.

The woman next to him was in a classy off-white dress, her long hair flowing over her shoulders with a bit of a curl at the ends, making her look super sweet and charming. She had a soft smile, and her eyes were bright and full of life.

Right then, Seb was leaning in a bit, chatting with the woman beside him, totally focused on her.

The woman looked up at Seb with a gentle gaze, and they seemed really close, like they had some unspoken understanding.

Sharon stared blankly at the scene outside the window, feeling like her heart was being squeezed by an invisible hand.

She tried to calm down, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from them.

Ariana noticed and asked softly, "Sharon, you okay?"

Sharon snapped out of it and forced a smile, "I'm fine."

But she didn't realize how fake her smile looked.

Sharon looked away, no longer watching the two outside, and started deleting her unfinished reply and chat window with Seb.

But even though she deleted the chat, the scene she just saw kept replaying in her mind. Sharon bit her lip, filled with confusion and unease.

Who was that woman? Why was she so close to Seb?

She had seen Seb with other women before, and he was always distant, never giving them any reason to think otherwise. But today, this woman was different.

Sharon was flooded with questions, but she couldn't find any answers. She tried to push aside her chaotic thoughts and not think about it anymore.

But Kirk seemed to read her mind and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Ms. Roach, you and Mr. Smith are a couple. Why don't you call him and ask what's going on?"

Sharon's hand clenched tightly, and she forced a smile, "I trust Seb."

Kirk sighed, his expression one of exasperated wisdom, "Ms. Roach, you don't know men. If you don't catch them in the act but ask later, they'll never admit it. They might even turn it around and accuse you of being paranoid. If you don't ask now, you'll be at a disadvantage later."

"Mr. Marshall, you seem to know a lot. Have you been through this before?" Sharon's tone was sarcastic, her face devoid of any hint of amusement.

Kirk's face stiffened, and he instinctively glanced at Ariana, who was also looking at him. He quickly said, "Ms. Roach, you're wronging me. I'm just giving you advice from a man's perspective. Don't drag me into this."

"Mr. Marshall, aren't you a man? If you can advise me like this, does that mean if your girlfriend sees you being close to another woman, you'll use this trick on her too?"

Kirk frowned, trying to keep his cool, but still looked a bit annoyed.

"Ms. Roach, I know you're upset seeing Mr. Smith close to another woman, but it's not right to take it out on others."

Sharon smiled slightly, "Mr. Marshall, I'm not angry. But you, I was just hypothesizing, and you're already upset? Did I hit a nerve?"

Kirk's fists clenched, and anger flickered in his eyes.

The atmosphere instantly became tense, and Ariana sat there, not knowing who to side with.

After a few seconds, Kirk suddenly laughed. "Ms. Roach, Ariana's treating us to dinner tonight. Let's not make it awkward. I don't want to put her in a tough spot."

Sharon glanced at Ariana and saw her pale face. She didn't say anything, clearly agreeing with Kirk.

After that, Sharon and Kirk didn't look at each other again, only talking to Ariana individually.

After dinner, Kirk offered to drive Sharon and Ariana home, but Sharon refused.

Kirk tried to be smooth, "Ms. Roach, are you still upset about earlier? If you're really mad, how about I apologize?"

"No need, Mr. Marshall. We're not going the same way. I'll just grab a cab."

Sharon was about to head to the curb when Ariana pulled her back.

"Sharon, I'll go with you. We're going the same way."

She looked at Kirk, "Mr. Marshall, it's late. You should head back too. Drive safe."

Kirk didn't push it and nodded, "Alright, let me know when you get home."

"Okay."

Watching Sharon and Ariana hail a cab and leave, Kirk then turned and walked to his car.

In the cab, Sharon apologized to Ariana, "Ariana, I'm sorry. If it weren't for me, tonight wouldn't have been so awkward."

Ariana shook her head, "It's okay, Sharon. And I think you were right."

Ariana had invited Kirk to dinner tonight because he had saved her before. If he needed her help in the future, Ariana would do her best.

But Ariana still felt that Kirk was not someone she could get close to.

Kirk's sudden enthusiasm towards her made it hard for Ariana to believe he had no ulterior motives.

"Ariana, I hope you stay clear-headed like this. There are many ways to thank Mr. Marshall for saving you, but don't accept his feelings just out of gratitude."

"Sharon, I know."

"That's good."

Sharon and Ariana chatted for a while longer before Ariana got out of the car.

Left alone in the cab, Sharon couldn't help but think about the scene she saw in the restaurant earlier, feeling a pang of sadness.

Suddenly, Sharon's phone rang.

Seeing Seb's name on the screen, Sharon bit her lip, hesitating to answer.

After a while, Sharon answered the call.

"What's up?"

"Didn't I ask you to send me the address of the restaurant? Why didn't you?"

Sharon lowered her eyes, unconsciously fiddling with the decoration on her bag, "No need. I'm already on my way back, almost home."

There was silence on the other end of the line. After a few seconds, Seb's deep voice came through, "Alright, I'll wait for you at home."

Hanging up the phone, Sharon looked out the window, feeling a lump in her throat.

But Sharon and Seb were just pretending. If he was close to another woman, what right did she have to be angry?

She would get used to it. Even if Seb kissed another woman in front of her, Sharon would be able to remain calm.

By the time the car stopped at the villa's entrance, Sharon's mood had calmed down.

Sharon paid the fare and got out of the car, seeing Seb standing at the villa's entrance, looking at her intently.

Sharon paused for a moment and walked up to Seb, "Why are you out here?"

"Waiting for you."

"Alright, thanks, but you don't have to next time. Let's go inside."

She was about to walk past Seb when her wrist was suddenly grabbed.

"Did something happen today?"
