Chapter 192 Never on the Same Path

Alex's stare was intense, like he wanted to eat someone alive. Ava's hand shook, almost dropping the soup bowl.

If Alex wasn't so hurt, he'd probably be out of bed, strangling her for answers.

"Alex, I was just scared. You used to love Sharon so much. I was afraid you'd fall for her again."

Alex sneered. "So you posted it online without telling me, making our marriage public?"

The warmth in Alex's eyes was gone, replaced by a chilling coldness. Ava felt a wave of grievance.

If Alex hadn't been seen hugging Sharon, she wouldn't have been threatened by Grace or called a mistress online.

The more she thought about it, the more upset she got.

With tears in her eyes, she said, "If you hadn't kept in touch with Sharon and ignored my calls, none of this would have happened! What's so shameful about our marriage that I can't make it public?"

Alex was so mad he felt like his lungs would burst. He regretted marrying Ava just to spite Sharon during their divorce.

"I just divorced Sharon and immediately married you. Now you've made it public. Do you know what the company directors and the Smith family will think of me? You're such an idiot!"

Alex's anger scared Ava, making her face pale, and she stepped back.

Alex couldn't stand to look at her anymore and shouted, "Get out!"

Later, Sharon got a message from Vincent, asking to meet near the Silvercrest Group.

Sharon was surprised by Vincent's eagerness. It seemed odd.

Vincent had insisted on meeting in person to give her evidence. But if he really had evidence, email would be safer to avoid the Smith family finding out.

After all, she had sent David to the police, and it was likely the Smith family was watching her. Meeting in person was risky.

The more she thought about it, the more suspicious she became of Vincent.

'What's Vincent up to now?' Sharon wondered.

Then she remembered Vincent's daughter, Shirley, was in the hospital.

She called Brian to ask about Vincent's financial situation.

After getting the details, Sharon was sure Vincent was after money, not compensation from the Percy incident.

The case hadn't gone to trial yet, and even if it did, it would take time, and Shirley couldn't wait.

So Vincent must be working for someone.

Understanding this, Sharon looked at Vincent's text with indifference.

A few minutes later, she replied to Vincent.

On the other side, Vincent got excited when he received the message. 'She's finally taken the bait,' he thought.

After work, Sharon drove to the restaurant where she agreed to meet Vincent. The place was near the Silvercrest Group and crowded, but Sharon still felt uneasy. She bought a stun gun for self-defense and contacted Brian to join her.

When she arrived, Vincent was already waiting.

Seeing Sharon, he quickly waved.

Sharon walked over calmly. As soon as she sat down, Vincent said excitedly, "Ms. Wright, you finally agreed to meet me!"

In the Silvercrest Group's CEO office, Paul knocked and entered, speaking quietly, "Mr. Smith, our guy watching Vincent just reported that he's meeting Ms. Wright at the Whispering Willow Restaurant."

Seb's face darkened. He stood up and walked out, speaking coldly, "Keep monitoring and tell the driver to bring the car around."

Seb had a bad feeling, and his gut was usually right.

In the restaurant, Sharon got straight to the point. "Mr. Coleman, you said you'd only give me the evidence in person. Can you hand it over now?"

Vincent nodded. "Of course."

He pulled a document from his bag and handed it to Sharon with a solemn look. "Ms. Wright, I hope you can use this evidence to get justice for my father."

If Sharon hadn't guessed Vincent's hidden agenda, she might have been fooled.

Vincent's eyes were red, filled with unwillingness and helplessness, perfectly portraying a middle-aged man unable to seek justice for his father.

"Alright, if your evidence is useful, I'll give it to the lawyer ASAP."

Taking the document, Sharon's face turned grim after reading a few pages, her hand trembling.

"Are you sure this evidence is real?"

"I swear on my life, but if you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do."

Sharon closed the document and looked up at Vincent. "I'll verify it. If it's real, I'll give it to the lawyer."

"Thank you."

On the way to the restaurant, Seb's unease grew stronger, his brows furrowing.

When the car stopped at the Whispering Willow Restaurant, Seb finally remembered where he'd seen Vincent before.

Six years ago, when David came to borrow money to deal with Robert Pharmaceuticals, Vincent was the one he brought along!

Seb's face turned grim as he pushed open the car door and quickly walked into the restaurant.

As soon as he entered, he saw Sharon sitting by the window, alone.

Seb's eyes darkened as he walked towards her.

He sat down across from her and asked in a deep voice, "Where is Vincent Coleman?"

Seeing him, Sharon remained unfazed.

When Seb had asked her about Vincent's identity in the parking lot this morning, she had guessed he would investigate.

It wasn't surprising that Seb was here now.

"He left."

Meeting Sharon's indifferent gaze, Seb's Adam's apple bobbed, and he seemed a bit nervous.

"What did he tell you?"

Sharon lowered her eyes and spoke slowly, "Not much, just that the Robert Pharmaceuticals incident six years ago had something to do with you."

At this moment, she felt somewhat relieved that she had broken up with Seb before learning all this.

Otherwise, she wouldn't know how to accept the truth.

"Sharon, when he came to borrow that money, I didn't know he was going to use it against Robert Pharmaceuticals."

Sharon chuckled lightly. "You didn't know what he planned to do, but you must know he was a ruthless person."

David had borrowed money from Seb more than once and had done many shady things. She didn't believe Seb couldn't guess what David was using the money for.

But Seb hadn't looked into it and didn't care.

Seb's hand on the table clenched tightly. "Sharon, I did make a mistake in this matter."

Sharon shook her head. "You didn't do anything wrong. It was my mistake for falling in love with you."

After all, she had no right to blame Seb. David was Seb's older brother, and it was only natural for Seb to lend him money.

"Sharon." Seb's pupils contracted, and his breathing became heavier.

Sharon interrupted him, "We were never meant to be together. Even without Grace, we would have eventually parted ways. Let's just end this mess."
