Chapter 529 Demetrius Clearly Trusts Him
Seeing Demetrius's eager expression, Alton couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, enough with the flattery. You didn't recognize me for so long. Is my charm fading, or did you just not care about me?"
"You were wearing a mask and a hat, and you yanked me out of the drawer where I was hiding. I was scared, thinking you were a bad guy. How could I have known you were my teacher?" Alton raised an eyebrow. "So, you're saying it's my fault?"
"Of course not."
Demetrius reached out to massage Alton's shoulders, his eyes crinkling with a smile. "Mr. Roach, you're the coolest and the best-looking. Just next time, don't wrap yourself up so tightly. People might think you're here to kidnap someone."
"Alright, go back to your seat."
Demetrius sat down next to him, looking at him with admiration. "Mr. Roach, how did you know I was kidnapped? And you came to save me right away. You're amazing, Mr. Roach! The best!"
"I put a tracker in the phone watch I gave you. It pinpoints your exact location."
"Oh, I see... but that watch broke."
"Even if it's broken, it can still be tracked. I'll get you a new one another day."
Demetrius nodded. "Okay, thank you, Mr. Roach. By the way... Mr. Roach, I want to call my mom so she won't worry."
"No rush. I'll take you home after we eat."
"Alright then."
Meanwhile, on the other side of town.
Paul had tracked the mysterious person's movements after they got off the plane and immediately contacted Seb.
"Mr. Smith, we've found him. The person who took Mr. Roach is named Alton Roach. He just arrived in Metropolis today and doesn't seem to be connected to Leo. He's currently at the Loire Restaurant with Mr. Roach."
Loire Restaurant was a high-end place in Metropolis. Seb frowned, wondering why the man would take Demetrius there.
"Got it."
He hung up and turned to Sharon. "We've found Demetrius. Let's go right now."
When they arrived at the restaurant, Alton and Demetrius were just finishing their meal and coming out.
Seeing Seb and Sharon, Demetrius's eyes lit up with joy, and he ran towards them.
"Dad, Mom! Did you come to get me?"
Sharon reached out and hugged Demetrius tightly, tears streaming down her face.
During the hours Demetrius was missing, her heart had been in a constant state of anxiety, fearing the worst.
Thankfully... thankfully, Demetrius was safe and back with her.
Sensing Sharon's worry and fear, Demetrius hugged her back. "Mom, don't be sad. I'm okay."
Sharon took a deep breath, wiped her tears, and forced a smile. "I'm sorry... it's my fault. I promise this won't happen again."
Demetrius must have been terrified when Leo kidnapped him.
Seeing Sharon's red eyes, Demetrius felt a pang of sadness and gently touched her eyes. "Mom, don't cry."
"Okay." But her tears kept falling.
Seb, after confirming Demetrius was alright, turned coldly to Alton, who was standing on the steps.
"Mr. Roach, thank you for saving my son. But I want to know, why didn't you contact us immediately and instead brought him here for dinner?"
"And how did you know Demetrius was kidnapped and find him so precisely?"
Seb's eyes were cold, full of scrutiny and suspicion as he looked at Alton.
Alton knew Seb had likely already investigated his identity but hadn't discovered his connection to the Stoll family.
He smiled and said, "Demetrius and I have a bit of a connection. I hadn't eaten dinner, and he was hungry too, so I brought him here to eat before taking him home."
"As for how I knew Demetrius was with Leo, I don't think I need to explain that to you, Mr. Smith."
With that, he turned to Demetrius. "Demetrius, since your parents are here, I won't take you home. Goodbye."
Demetrius nodded. "Okay."
Alton glanced at Sharon, smiled slightly, and walked away.
Seb watched his retreating figure coldly, his eyes devoid of warmth.
Once Alton drove off, Seb turned to Demetrius. "Demetrius, who is that man? How do you know him?"
Demetrius was very cautious by nature. If he had just met the man today, he wouldn't have told him his name, so they must have known each other for a while.
But when Seb had investigated Sharon and Demetrius's past five years, there had been no mention of such a person.
Demetrius played dumb. "Dad, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
Seb frowned, his expression darkening. "Demetrius, don't lie to me. If he's a bad person, you could be in danger."
Demetrius thought to himself that Alton wasn't a bad person but pouted and said, "He saved me today. How could he be a bad person?"
Seb knelt in front of him, about to speak when Sharon suddenly interjected, "Demetrius, was that man the teacher you mentioned before?"
Demetrius's expression changed, and he didn't respond.
Sharon took a deep breath and asked gently, "Demetrius, how did you meet your teacher?"
This person had the ability to find Demetrius and rescue him from Leo, which meant he wasn't an ordinary person.
Not to mention, the money in Demetrius's account had come from him.
Demetrius lowered his head, staying silent. During dinner, Alton had told him not to mention him to his parents.
Seeing he wouldn't speak, Sharon didn't press further. She looked at Seb and said, "Demetrius has been through a lot today. Let's go home first and discuss this later."
Seb was silent for a moment, then nodded. "Alright."
They returned to the villa, where the servant who had infiltrated earlier had been sent to the police station. Seb had also tightened security around the villa.
Carol, who had been knocked out in the kitchen, was now awake. The doctor checked both Demetrius and Carol, confirming they were fine, with Demetrius just needing some rest to recover from the scare.
Seb and Sharon breathed a sigh of relief and asked Carol to take Demetrius for a bath.
Once Demetrius and Carol disappeared up the stairs, Seb turned to Sharon, his voice serious. "Do you think Demetrius's so-called teacher might be a bad person? He must have some motive for getting close to Demetrius."
No normal person would take a five-year-old child as a student and give them so much money without a reason.
Sharon pressed her lips together. "I think so too. But Demetrius clearly trusts him and is wary of us. He doesn't want to tell us the truth."
