Chapter 421 Did His Attitude Change Just After a Phone Call?
A bunch of people rushed towards the gate of The Thomas Villa, ready to bust it open, but it swung open from the inside.
The guy inside saw the crowd of men in black but didn't even flinch. His eyes locked on Randy. "Mr. Smith, Mr. Thomas wants to see you."
Randy shot him a cold look, "You're not worth my time. If you don't want this to get messy, have Daniel bring out Sophie!"
The guy's face went stiff, the tension in the air spiking to an almost unbearable level. Everyone was waiting for Randy's signal. The moment he gave the word, they'd storm The Thomas Villa.
Seeing the guy stay silent, Randy lost his patience and snapped, "Charge in."
Just as everyone moved, a deep voice came from behind the door. "Mr. Smith, no need for all this drama."
Daniel showed up at the door, smiling like he didn't care about the crowd at his gate.
Randy stared at him, "Mr. Thomas, hand over Sophie, or I'll force my way in."
"Mr. Smith, relax. Sophie's fine. She's just drunk. I'll send her back tomorrow morning," Daniel said.
Randy sneered. The gossip about Daniel's affair that Sophie found out about five years ago was still fresh. And now, here he was, shamelessly showing up again.
"Looks like you want me to force my way in," Randy said.
With a nod from Randy, the men in black got ready to charge. The tension in the air was palpable, the very atmosphere growing heavier with each passing second.
Daniel's lips curled into a smile, "Even if you break in, I won't let you take her."
"Let's see about that!" Randy shot back.
The temperature dropped as Randy and Daniel faced off, and a dozen Thomas family servants stood behind Daniel.
Even though they were in servant uniforms, it was clear they were martial arts pros, each capable of taking on ten men.
Suddenly, Daniel's phone rang, breaking the silence. When he saw Jesse's name on the screen, his face turned grim. He stared at the screen for a few seconds before answering. Whatever was said on the other end made Daniel grip the phone tightly, veins bulging, his face tense and icy.
After hanging up, Daniel coldly ordered, "Stand down."
Everyone looked at each other, shocked and confused. Didn't Daniel just tell them to stop Randy and his crew at all costs? Why was he now telling them to back off?
Despite their doubts, no one dared to speak up. They quickly lowered their heads and turned to leave.
Randy found it strange too. Did Daniel change his mind after a phone call?
But no matter what, he was taking Sophie away tonight. "Mr. Thomas, I'll say it one last time, hand over Sophie!"
Daniel didn't look at him but turned to the butler, "Have two maids bring Sophie out."
"Yes, sir," the butler replied.
Soon, Sophie was brought out by two maids.
Seeing her eyes closed and her face flushed, clearly drunk, Randy's gaze darkened.
If Randy hadn't come tonight, who knew what Daniel would have done to Sophie?
Randy quickly stepped forward and picked Sophie up, turning to glare at Daniel, "You'll pay for this!"
Seeing Sophie in Randy's arms, unconsciously snuggling closer, Daniel clenched his hands tightly. When he brought Sophie back earlier, she had pushed him away in disgust when he tried to carry her out of the car.
In the end, Daniel had to get two maids to bring her back to the villa. She was so resistant to him but showed dependence on Randy. A fierce fire of jealousy burned in his heart, threatening to consume everything.
"Randy, you were just filling the emotional void in her life while I was gone. In time, I'll show you who is truly right for her!" Daniel spat out, seething with anger.
Randy didn't even flinch at Daniel's provocation. "Mr. Thomas, a devoted current boyfriend versus a cheating ex caught in bed with his mistress—I think Sophie knows who to choose."
With that, he ignored Daniel's dark expression and left with Sophie in his arms.
After placing Sophie in the car, Randy instructed the driver to start driving. Seeing Randy's grim face in the rearview mirror, the driver shivered and quickly lowered the partition. Randy remained silent as the partition descended. Only when it was fully down did the driver allow himself a quiet sigh of relief. The oppressive atmosphere seemed to lighten with the partition in place, and the driver's tense expression relaxed.
In the back seat, Randy's gaze fell on Sophie, who was sleeping with her head leaning against the left car door, oblivious to his complex feelings.
When Randy thought of his worry when he couldn't find her and his anger when he learned Daniel had taken her, his eyes darkened. He reached out and pulled Sophie into his arms, which made a few strands of her hair fall across her face, tickling her. She instinctively reached up to scratch.
Seeing her like this, Randy felt his anger flare even higher. He grabbed her by the back of the neck and bit down hard on her red lips.
"It hurts," Sophie frowned and tried to push him away, but he only became more aggressive. After more than a minute, Randy finally let her go.
Sophie gasped for air like a fish out of water, her bitten lips even redder and more enticing.
Randy closed his eyes, slowly calming his racing heart, his grip on Sophie tightening. "Sophie, since you chose to be with me, I won't let you go."
Sophie snuggled closer into his arms, her slender arms wrapping around his waist.
After bringing Sophie back to The Lee Villa, Randy was about to leave when he received a call from Sharon.
"Mr. Smith, did you bring Sophie back?" Sharon asked.
After returning, Seb found out that Daniel had taken Sophie and that Randy had gone to The Thomas Villa to get her back. Sharon immediately contacted Randy to ask about Sophie's condition.
Randy replied calmly, "Ms. Roach, don't worry. Sophie is fine, just drunk."
Hearing this, Sharon finally relaxed, "Good, then you should get some rest."
Just as Sharon was about to hang up, Randy called out to her, "Ms. Roach, I have something to ask you."
"What is it?" Sharon asked.
"Did Sophie really like Daniel a lot before?" Randy said.
If Sophie hadn't liked Daniel very much, he wouldn't have had the confidence to say those things to him today.
Sharon lowered her eyes and, after a moment of silence, said, "No matter how much Sophie liked him before, it's all in the past. Sophie won't go back to someone who cheated on her, and the fact that she accepted you means you're important to her. Comparing yourself to someone from the past is meaningless. What matters is that you're together now."
Randy looked up at the dark sky and exhaled a breath of warm air. "Alright, I understand. Thank you, Ms. Roach."
Randy only regretted that he hadn't met her when she was willing to love someone with her whole heart.
