Chapter 200 But I'm Not Willing

There was a brief silence before David's cold voice cut through.

"Don't ever cross my path, or you'll regret it."

He hung up.

Sharon took a deep breath, trying to calm her anger. 'I'll make sure he ends up in jail again,' she thought.

After changing clothes, she grabbed her bag and left.

As she reached the elevator, the doors opened.

Grace, in a white dress, was holding Seb's arm, smiling.

Grace's smile faded a bit when she saw Sharon, and she tightened her grip on Seb's arm.

"Ms. Wright, what a coincidence."

Sharon nodded coldly. "Yeah."

Seb glanced at Sharon like she was a stranger, then looked away.

Sharon felt his cold gaze but didn't look at him. She walked into the elevator, turning her back to them.

As the doors closed, Grace's voice softened.

"Seb, what should we have for dinner tonight?"

Seb's voice was emotionless. "Whatever you want."

"Oh, you still haven't changed. Always 'whatever.'"

Seb chuckled softly. "Isn't it good to go along with what you want?"

"It's not bad, I guess. Fine, I'll decide then!"

Sharon stared straight ahead, her reflection cold, with Grace and Seb close behind her.

The elevator ride was quick, and it stopped after a few seconds.

When the doors opened, Sharon walked out quickly.

She got into her car, started the engine, and drove away, not noticing Seb's lingering gaze.

After Sharon left, Seb pulled his arm away from Grace, his expression cold. "I have something to do later. The driver will take you home."

Grace looked shocked. "Seb, aren't we having dinner together?"

"I'm busy. If you want company, I'll call Victor."

Seb's icy eyes cut through Grace, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"But Victor isn't my boyfriend. I want you with me."

Seb looked impatient. "I said, I'm busy."

"If Sharon asked you, would you also say you're busy?"

Seb's eyes narrowed, his face grim.

"She's different from you."

Tears fell from Grace's eyes as she smiled bitterly. "Yes, she's different. She doesn't have to do anything to get your love, while even if I beg you with my life, you wouldn't care."

Seb looked at her indifferently. "Grace, we're over. I can't love you again."

"I know, Seb. How could I not know? You won't love me again, but I can't accept it! We used to love each other so much."

After seeing how Seb loved someone, how could Grace accept him not loving her?

"Even if you don't want to accept it, it's over."

Seb didn't want to accept things with Sharon either, but what could he do?

He thought, 'Sharon won't forgive me. Can I force her to love me again?'

Seb opened the car door, looking calm. "Get in."

After having the driver take Grace home, Seb went back to the office to work.

Work was the only thing that could distract him from thoughts of Sharon. But today, after seeing her, he couldn't focus.

Frustrated, Seb threw the documents on his desk, grabbed his car keys, and left.

Meanwhile, Ashley and Leo had just ordered food at a restaurant. Ashley looked at Leo across the table.

"Leo, I've never been to such a fancy place. The food here is so expensive."

Leo smiled gently. "You can get used to it."

His good looks and bright smile made him even more handsome, hard to look away from.

Ashley's face turned red, and she quickly looked away.

"Why should I get used to it?"

"Because I might ask you out often in the future."

Ashley's heart raced. She looked at Leo and gathered her courage. "Leo, you used to ignore me. Why the sudden change?"

"You're smart. How could you not get it?"

Ashley lowered her eyes, staying silent. She liked Leo but wasn't head over heels.

Leo's sudden change had to mean something.

"Leo, do you need my help with something?"

Leo's smile deepened, and he nodded. "Yes, I do."

"Is it about Sharon?"

"Yeah."

A trace of disappointment crossed Ashley's face. She knew Leo and Sharon were siblings, but not by blood.

She always thought Leo was a bit too friendly with Sharon.

"I might not be able to help with Sharon. She didn't want to go to that auction, no matter how much I tried."

Leo's eyes darkened. After a moment, he said, "I want you to look after her more. She's had a falling out with her family and doesn't have many friends. You're one of the few she's close to."

Ashley nodded. "Don't worry, I will."

"By the way, you guys spend all your time doing experiments except for meals, with almost no rest. Are you that busy?"

"Yes, we're trying to catch up."

"If you need help, just ask. I'm not that busy right now."

Ashley hesitated, then looked at him and said slowly, "Leo, Sharon seems very cold to you. Why do you care so much?"

"Because Sharon is my sister."

Seeing Leo's sincere expression, Ashley finally relaxed.

"Okay, I'll talk to Sharon. Hopefully, she'll agree and you guys can patch things up."

"Thank you."

After that, Leo asked about their experiments, and Ashley, without suspicion, told him everything.

By the end of the meal, Leo had a good grasp of their work.

After dropping Ashley off, the smile on his face gradually turned cold.
