Chapter 61 How did it become so vicious now?
On the way, Sharon struggled to get Alex to put her down, but it was of no use.
Not until he placed her on the emergency room bed did Alex press her hands down and say in a deep voice, "Sharon, I'm in a really bad mood right now. You'd better behave."
Hearing the threat in Alex's tone, Sharon shook off his hands and looked at him indifferently. "Why should I care about your mood? If you like obedient people, go find Ava. I can't be as understanding as she is."
Alex stared at her cold profile and suddenly smiled. "Sharon, are you jealous?"
Sharon furrowed her brow, wondering through which eye Alex had detected her jealousy.
However, she didn't want to argue with him and let him think whatever he wanted.
Soon, the doctor came over. After a thorough examination, the doctor rebandaged Sharon's injured hand and advised her to stay in the hospital for a few days for observation.
After going to the ward, Sharon noticed Alex hadn't left, and a look of impatience flashed in her eyes. "You can go now."
Alex said, "I'm staying here with you."
Seeing his serious expression, Sharon turned her eyes away in disgust. "Do you think what you're doing now has any meaning? Where were you when I was kidnapped?"
Alex said, "Sharon, I didn't know you were kidnapped."
Sharon laughed and looked at him mockingly. "Of course, you didn't know because you were busy having an affair with Ava."
Alex instinctively explained, "I wasn't."
Suddenly, as if realizing something, his eyes darkened. "How did you know I was with Ava at that time?"
Sharon looked him straight in the eye and said word by word, "Because I called you, but Ava answered. When I was most desperate and scared, you were with another woman. How do you have the nerve to show up in front of me and act like nothing happened?"
Alex's face turned pale instantly, and he shook his head unconsciously. "No, there were no calls on my phone."
He didn't dare to imagine how desperate Sharon must have been when she called him for help, and Ava answered instead.
"Then you should go ask Ava."
"Sharon, I will get to the bottom of this. If it was really Ava, I won't let her off!"
Sharon didn't believe what Alex said.
She slowly raised her eyes. "If it was her, how would you retaliate? Make her abort the baby, or make her go through what I experienced?"
Her eyes stared at him, full of stubbornness, seemingly demanding an answer.
Alex frowned, feeling that she was being a bit aggressive.
She wasn't like this before. She used to be kind and gentle, never speaking to him this way.
Seeing he didn't speak, Sharon chuckled lightly, "Alex, do you know? I find it disgusting that you neither want to divorce me nor cut ties with Ava. Do you think I'll tolerate you like your mom tolerated your dad's mistresses?"
"Sharon, I never thought that. I just..."
"You just think I can't live without you, so you're unscrupulous in hurting me."
Alex's hand clenched at his side, a hint of defeat flashing in his eyes.
He couldn't refute Sharon because every word she said was true.
Alex did think Sharon couldn't live without him and didn't want to let her go.
She bitterly curved her lips, turned her gaze away, and said, "Go away. I don't want to see you right now."
The door to the ward opened and closed, and Sharon's expression turned cold.
Leaving the hospital, the first thing Alex did was go find Ava.
Seeing him return, Ava's face was full of joy. "Alex, you're back, ah!"
Alex grabbed Ava's hair, pulling her in front of him, and looked at her coldly. "Ava, it seems I've been too good to you lately, making you forget your place."
The pain from her scalp made her eyes fill with tears, and Alex's ferocious expression scared her.
"Alex, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
"Don't understand? Since you don't understand, go kneel in front of Sharon's ward until you do."
Ava's expression changed, and she realized what was going on.
"I didn't know MsWright called to say she was kidnapped. I thought she was trying to get you to go to her. I'm sorry," as soon as Ava finished speaking, Alex slapped her.
He hit her hard, and if he hadn't been holding her hair with the other hand, she would have fallen.
Ava screamed in pain, her face burning and swelling.
Alex looked at her with a cold smile, his eyes filled with chilling coldness. "She's my wife. Even if she's playing tricks on me, as long as I allow it, it's none of your business. If you don't want to die, don't challenge my limits again."
Moreover, just thinking about Ava almost getting Sharon killed made Alex want to strangle her.
His gaze was so terrifying that Ava's body trembled uncontrollably. She had never seen Alex this angry before. But thinking that he was so angry because of Sharon, Ava's jealousy grew like wild weeds.
Why didn't that bitch Sharon die?
If she were dead, she wouldn't be going through this now.
"Alex, I know I was wrong. I'm sorry. I didn't know Ms Wright was really kidnapped." Tears kept streaming from Ava's eyes, her face full of fear and regret.
Alex let go of her, turned around, and left with a cold expression.
It wasn't until she was alone in the living room that Ava wiped away her tears, her expression changing from initial sadness and fear to calm.
Ava got up and walked into the bedroom, taking a document from the innermost part of the nightstand. It was a medical report.
When she got Alex and Sharon's medical reports, she made a copy.
Now, it should come into play.
Ava clutched the document tightly, her eyes cold.
The next morning, Sharon was awakened by a commotion.
As soon as she opened her eyes, the door to the ward was pushed open, and Irene's parents, Ted and Catherine Baker, pushed the nurse aside and quickly entered the room.
As soon as Catherine reached the bedside, she started wailing. "Sharon, Irene grew up with you. She lost her mind this time. For the sake of your past relationship, can you forgive her this once?"
Seeing her constantly wiping her tears, Sharon's eyes remained indifferent. "Ms. Baker, you've got the wrong person. At this point, it's more useful to beg the lawyer."
Catherine was stunned, looking at Sharon in disbelief. "You and Irene used to be so close. Are you really going to ignore that bond?"
Sharon smiled slightly and spoke slowly, "She was close to me because her father was employee of our comany. She needed to please me to secure his position."
"And speaking of bonds, she tried to kidnap and kill me. There's no bond left to speak of."
Seeing Sharon smile but with no intention of letting Irene go, Catherine's eyes turned cold. "Sharon, you're fine, so why won't you let Irene go? I was so good to you before. How did you become so vicious?"
