Chapter 375 Applying Medicine
Dana gave a quick nod. "Alright, I'm on it."
She found the ointment just as Sharon walked out of the kitchen.
"Ms. Roach, Mr. Smith mentioned you burned your tongue. Use this ointment, and it should feel better by morning," Dana said.
Sharon took the ointment and smiled. "Thanks, Dana. It's getting late. You should get some rest."
Dana glanced towards the kitchen. "Ms. Roach, are you cooking something? Need any help?"
Sharon shook her head. "No, I'm just making some porridge. I got it. You go rest."
Dana nodded. "Okay, if you need anything, just holler."
"Will do," Sharon replied.
Once Dana left, it was just Sharon and Seb in the living room. Feeling a bit awkward after what had just happened, Sharon avoided Seb's gaze.
Seb put down his fork and looked at her. "Come here."
His calm expression under the light carried an unspoken pressure.
"What's up?" Sharon asked, not moving but staring at him.
"I'll put the ointment on for you," Seb said.
The thought of Seb applying the ointment flashed in Sharon's mind, and she bit her lip.
"No need. I can handle it," she said.
Seb remained silent, his gaze unwavering and intense. Feeling the intensity of his gaze, Sharon tightened her grip on the ointment.
"Seb, seriously, I can do it myself," she repeated.
The next moment, Seb stood up, the sound of the chair scraping the floor echoing in the room, and walked towards her.
Each step he took seemed to echo in Sharon's chest, making her heart race.
He stopped in front of her and held out his hand. "Give me the ointment."
"No, I can..." Sharon started to say.
Before she could finish, Seb grabbed her wrist. She froze, instinctively trying to pull away, but Seb had already taken the ointment from her hand and let go.
"Go sit on the couch," Seb instructed.
Sharon was about to argue, but Seb cut her off. "If you refuse, I'll carry you over."
She fell silent.
Under Seb's firm gaze, Sharon reluctantly agreed and sat on the couch.
Seb's deep voice came from above, "Lift your head and open your mouth."
Sharon did as he said, her eyes meeting his, her heart pounding even faster. She quickly looked away, her hands clenching at her sides as she tried to calm down.
Seb gently held her chin. "Open your mouth."
Sharon slowly opened her mouth, her fingers gripping the hem of her clothes.
She didn't know why she was so nervous, even though she had decided to just be friends with Seb. Yet, his proximity made it impossible for her to quell the tremors of her heart.
His handsome face was inches away, and the faint scent of cedar from him made her mind wander.
"Don't be nervous. It won't hurt," Seb reassured her.
He dipped a cotton swab in the ointment and gently applied it to the blister on her tongue. Sharon had expected it to hurt, but instead, a cool, minty sensation filled her mouth.
She looked up at Seb, her eyes slightly red and innocent, stirring a sense of tenderness in him.
Seb's eyes darkened, and he fought the urge to kiss her.
After finishing, Seb tossed the cotton swab in the trash.
"Alright, don't irritate the blister tonight. It should be better by morning," he said.
