Chapter 127 She Knew How to Use Her Appearance to Deceive People
Selena hadn't said a word, but Jane felt humiliated like never before.
Even Reid, who was still all over Jane, noticed her weird vibe and looked up to see Selena, momentarily stunned.
Reid's eyes flashed with anger as he pieced it together.
"Selena!" Reid abruptly let go of Jane and stepped forward.
Selena frowned, not getting why Reid was suddenly so mad.
"Mr. Wright." She greeted him politely. Despite Reid's previous uncooperative behavior, she didn't want to stir up trouble.
"Selena, you're something else. I don't know what tricks you pulled, but Caterlington canceled their contract with me because of you! We've worked together for three years, and I thought you were different. Turns out you're just another one who sleeps around!"
Selena's expression turned icy. "Mr. Wright, you were the one who first violated the contract. As for your deal with Caterlington, that's between your companies. Blaming me isn't fair, is it?"
Reid glared at Selena, then sneered, "Caterlington teamed up with others to go against you, then turned around and supported you. I heard you even had dinner with him. Looks like you pleased him well in bed."
"Mr. Wright, I thought you were respectable. Do you enjoy humiliating others? Is this what impotent rage looks like?" Selena scoffed.
"You!" Reid was so angry his scalp tingled. When he first learned Caterlington had canceled the contract, he wanted to confront Selena immediately.
But then Jane came to him, claiming to be from the same studio as Selena. Reid already wanted to deal with Selena, and now he had an ally who was also willing to sleep with him. It was a win-win, so he didn't refuse.
Reid didn't expect to run into Selena here. His eyes flashed with malice as he grabbed Jane by the waist. "Alright, Selena, if that's how you want it, don't blame me for never working with you again. My friends' companies will also reject your projects. Our renovation team is one of the best in the industry. Let's see how you plan to renovate Raymond's house this time!"
Reid's face was full of smugness as he looked Selena up and down. "But if you know what's good for you and spend a night with me like Jane did, maybe I'll let you off."
Selena sneered and stepped into the elevator. "No need to worry, Mr. Wright. I'm not that cheap."
This remark insulted both Jane and Reid.
Jane, who had been trying to hide in Reid's arms to avoid the issue, was infuriated and cursed loudly, "You bitch!"
But the elevator doors had already closed, leaving her no outlet for her anger.
Jane's face twisted in frustration. "Damn it!"
Then a glimmer of light flashed in her eyes.
What was Selena doing at the hotel? And such a nice hotel at that. She usually wasn't this extravagant.
Could it be that Selena, like her, was here to find a wealthy man tonight?
Jane sneered and was about to sweet-talk Reid again when she saw someone walking into the lobby—it was Raymond!
Jane had met Raymond before and had subtly badmouthed Selena in front of him.
Now another opportunity had presented itself!
Jane quickly let go of Reid and ran towards Raymond. "Mr. Montague, we meet again. I wonder if you remember me."
Raymond's eyes were cold and indifferent. He didn't recognize her at first until Jane introduced herself.
"I'm from the same studio as Penny. Didn't I mention before that whenever Penny collaborates with clients, their wives always ask for a replacement? Well, tonight I ran into her at the hotel. I wonder if she's here specifically to see you, Mr. Montague."
"Yes." Raymond's tone was icy as he walked past Jane and into the elevator.
Jane didn't dare get too close and continued, "I've worked with her, so I know all about her dirty tricks. She knew how to use her looks to deceive people."
Raymond didn't pay much attention to her words until he reached his room and saw Selena waiting there obediently.
She leaned casually against the wall, the light above casting a halo around her hair. Her face looked delicate and cold, but she was more stubborn than anyone.
At least Jane was right about one thing; Selena knew how to use her appearance to deceive people.
Those eyes were incredibly beautiful; otherwise, he wouldn't have lost control on the first night he returned.
At least Selena's looks matched his aesthetic perfectly. If only that mouth of hers didn't say so many annoying things.
