Chapter 270 You Think You Can Marry into a Wealthy Family
When she got to the Montague Group, she walked into the lobby and saw Lillian at the front desk.
Lillian spotted her and her pretty face twisted with anger. She snorted and kept bragging to her colleague.
"Yeah, Carter bought it for me. Cost over a million bucks, could've bought a car with that. Makes my heart ache."
Ever since Lillian hooked up with Carter, everyone knew and was super jealous.
Being a receptionist at the Montague Group meant you were pretty attractive.
A lot of people hoped to get close to the higher-ups, but no one had managed to snag the president's cousin like Lillian did. If they didn't break up, she might just marry into a rich family.
And Carter was generous. He'd given her several necklaces worth over a million each, and rumor had it a Maserati worth over three million was on the way. Lillian was living like a princess.
Showing off her bracelet, Lillian said, "We're truly in love. I'm not like some women who are fickle. Don't be too greedy, or you'll get what's coming to you. Carter likes me because I'm innocent."
She glanced at Selena's back and pouted.
When she married Carter, she didn't want Selena to have anything to do with the Montague family. She'd already texted Grace last time, and even if Raymond wanted to have some fun with this designer, he should be tired of her by now.
Lillian sneered and kept bragging to her colleagues.
Selena knew she was being sarcastic and pretended not to hear. After all, she was at fault for what happened last time.
Even considering that Lillian had brought her medicine, she shouldn't hold a grudge now.
Seeing Selena enter the elevator, Lillian's lips curled up.
Olivia was at the Montague Group today. If Selena went up now and ran into Raymond's most important woman, who knew how she'd be treated.
She thought, 'A mere designer wanting to marry into a wealthy family? How laughable.'
Ever since Lillian hooked up with Carter, she felt superior and looked down on everyone.
Even the receptionist's salary of over ten thousand a month didn't satisfy her anymore.
Carter casually gave her necklaces and bracelets worth over a million each. If she had to earn that money herself, who knew how long it would take. Better to keep Carter wrapped around her finger and have everything.
Lillian smiled sweetly, hoping Selena would go upstairs and embarrass herself, staying far away from Carter's life from then on.
When Selena reached the top floor, she felt something was off today.
People who were usually busy working were now sneaking glances at Raymond's office.
When Sofia saw Selena, her eyes lit up and she sneered. "Here to see Mr. Montague again?"
She didn't stop her like she used to.
Selena didn't want to waste time with her and walked to the office door, knocking on it.
Sofia watched Selena's back, very pleased. Olivia was still inside; wouldn't it be awkward later?
Sofia sneered, eager to watch the show.
"Come in." Raymond's voice came from inside.
Selena pushed the door open and walked in.
"Mr. Montague." She called out and saw Olivia sitting next to Raymond.
Olivia's chair must have been moved from somewhere else, as it was right next to him, and she was asking him something.
Selena didn't expect her to be there. She knew Olivia.
"If you're busy, I can come back in the afternoon."
Her face showed no emotion, except for the surprise when she first opened the door.
Raymond lowered his eyes, his grip on the pen tightening slightly. He didn't push Olivia away but said, "What's the matter? Just say it. I have a meeting this afternoon."
