Chapter 362 I Am Selena's Man
The next day, Selena headed back to the hospital. After making sure Beatrice and Alice were nowhere in sight, she slipped into Nick's room.
The voice recorder she had left there yesterday was missing. Beatrice and Alice were too worked up to notice a tiny pen, so maybe a nurse picked it up?
She asked around, but no one had seen it. As she walked past James's room, she bumped into him on his way to the restroom.
Inside James's room, Beatrice was keeping a close eye on him. When she saw Selena, she was livid and ready to confront her.
But Selena just went to the nurse's station to keep asking about the voice recorder.
No matter how much she asked, no one had seen it.
When she got back to the hallway, she saw a bald guy walking towards her from the other end. He looked like the same guy who claimed himself as the date set up for her by the roadside last time.
"Selena." Francis was being super attentive, mainly because he found out the Fair family's villa was pretty pricey, so he was determined to win Selena over.
This time, he brought a real flower, but just one. "I thought about it after I went back last time. We were both a bit angry. Today, I brought you a real flower. Let's give it a shot."
James saw this and got so mad he was shaking. "Selena, who is this?"
Francis didn't know James. Seeing that he was in poor health and in the way, he got annoyed. "Who are you? I'm Selena's man, and we're going to live together. Show some respect!"
James was so angry he couldn't speak.
Beatrice took the chance to scold Selena. "I knew you were a slut, messing around with men. You even went after Nick, and now you're fooling with this kind of man. You truly dishonor your family!"
The more Beatrice scolded, the more worked up she got. She raised her hand to slap Selena, mainly because she was still upset about being hit yesterday; her face still had marks!
But Selena threw her bag at Beatrice, hitting her forehead hard and leaving a bruise.
"James! Look at her true colors. While you've been in the hospital, I've been living in fear every day. She's the one who put Nick in a coma. Fine, I really can't live anymore. What's the point of living!" Beatrice said as she tried to run into the wall.
James, seeing this distressing scene, felt a blackness before his eyes and almost fainted.
But he held on, raising his cane to hit Selena. "You bastard! Explain everything to me! What the hell is going on!"
Francis, seeing that Selena was about to be hit, quickly hugged her, not missing the chance to take advantage.
Seeing the two so close, James became even more convinced of Beatrice's words.
He never expected Selena to be this kind of person!
How dare she mess around behind the Montague family's back!
Selena, forcibly held by Francis, felt a wave of nausea and kicked him in the groin. Francis screamed and squatted down instantly.
Francis was wailing, Beatrice was crying, and Selena had really had enough of it all.
Seeing James's cane about to swing again, her pupils contracted sharply, and her shoulder took a heavy hit.
Then she looked up and saw a nurse not far away, with the voice recorder clipped to her chest pocket.
Selena's eyes reddened, but she didn't cry. Instead, she hurtled up to the nurse and took the recorder.
If the recorder had no content, she would leave the hospital now. There was nothing to explain since James didn't believe her.
But as it happened, the recorder did have content. She turned the volume to the maximum, and soon, Beatrice and Alice's voices came through.
Alice's vicious voice sounded, "As long as I inject the poison into his body, he's dead meat! By then, the Fair family will be ours!"
Beatrice's scathing voice said, "Nick tried to harm Selena and got trapped by her. Who can he blame? If he hadn't tried to rape Selena, would he be in this situation? And you knew he had those thoughts about Selena and didn't stop him! You even had an affair with Kenny. I bet he ran away, leaving you to face the police!"
