Chapter 388 Her Scent
Raymond plopped down at the desk and grabbed the documents again.
"What's up?"
"Steve's got a painting up for auction soon. I was thinking, maybe you could head over to Elaria. You love his stuff, right? And if you go, can I tag along? Perfect timing, I haven't eaten either. Join me?" Olivia's voice had a playful tone. She glanced at the dining table and slowly took a seat.
Raymond's eyes stayed glued to the documents. "We'll see."
"Raymond, you were the one who got me into Steve's work. I even tracked him down to be his apprentice. But he's already got a student, and I have no clue who it is. Heard they're pretty young." Olivia sounded a bit miffed. "Maybe it's a relative of his."
Raymond frowned. "I need to take care of some stuff."
From the moment Olivia walked in, she intuited something was off.
"Raymond, did the cleaning service skip today?"
She started towards the bedroom, but Raymond stayed silent.
Olivia pushed open the bedroom door. There were two pillows on the bed. If only one person had been sleeping there, the other pillow should've been put away.
Her brow furrowed, unease creeping in as she headed straight for the closet.
Selena, hiding inside, felt her heart race at the sound of high heels.
This was bad.
Given Olivia's thing for Raymond, she was probably in for a rough time.
Just as Olivia was about to open the closet door, Raymond stood in the doorway, arms crossed, speaking calmly.
"I have a thing about cleanliness." He didn't like people touching his stuff.
Olivia had been a bit irrational, barging into the bedroom.
She quickly pulled her hand back and smiled at him. "I just wanted to buy you some ties, so I needed to see which suits you usually wear."
Raymond didn't call her out on the lie and walked back to the living room.
Olivia had no choice but to follow, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Selena let out a sigh of relief as the footsteps faded.
In the living room, Olivia's voice was barely a whisper.
"Raymond, I know you wouldn't go looking for other women."
Raymond picked up his pen and kept reviewing.
Olivia, worried he was mad, glanced at the dining cart nearby, feeling even more uneasy.
"Then I'll head out. If you decide to go to the auction in Elaria, I can be your date."
"Okay."
Raymond didn't look at her.
Olivia gazed at Raymond with longing, reluctantly heading to the door.
Raymond's voice came from behind.
"Return the room key."
Olivia's face turned red with embarrassment. Everyone thought she and Raymond were getting married, and her looks had gotten her many perks. When she asked the front desk manager for a room key, they just handed it over.
Now, Raymond's words clearly showed he wasn't happy with her actions.
She opened her mouth, feeling humiliated, biting her lip hard. "Here you are."
As she left the room, her eyes were filled with resentment!
Remembering the long hair she found in his room last time, she was sure Raymond had a bed partner!
Who could it be, Penny?
She immediately called the surveillance room, but all info about Raymond was kept confidential by the hotel.
Olivia was furious. After returning the room key, she waited downstairs. She wanted to see who the shameless woman seducing Raymond was!
Raymond went to the bedroom.
The bedroom was simple, with a custom bed and a row of closets. Everything screamed understated luxury.
He opened the closet door and saw several neatly pressed suits hanging inside, with the beautiful Selena sitting below.
He squatted down, meeting her gaze.
Selena wasn't wearing shoes. In her rush to hide, she had kicked them under the bed. Her knees were curled up, and she was wearing nothing but a shirt.
The closet was filled with her scent, not perfume, but the smell of the body wash he often used.
He was used to this scent, never finding it special. But at this moment, meeting her fearful eyes, he found the scent incredibly alluring.
Just as Selena was about to come out, he pushed her deeper inside, and his kiss followed.
In this tight space, she couldn't move at all.
