Chapter 298 He Doesn't Easily Get Emotional Over a Woman
That night, Selena slept like a baby and woke up feeling way better.
First thing she did was grab her phone.
There was a missed call from Raymond, and it was from his private number.
She frowned a bit. Did William give him a hard time again?
While brushing her teeth, she shot off a quick text: [What's up?]
By then, Raymond was already at the Montague Group.
Seeing her chill reply after a whole night, especially after the drama at Ashbourne Manor, her laid-back attitude ticked him off.
But he wasn’t about to let a woman mess with his head.
He deleted the message.
Since William didn’t care anymore, there was no point in reaching out to her.
Selena didn’t expect a reply from Raymond anyway. It was a private number, and he probably called because of William.
After her morning routine, she quickly called William to check on him.
To her surprise, William saw her as a poor woman heartbroken by her husband’s cheating.
"Selena, don’t worry. I’ve got your back. If this happens again, just tell me, and I’ll make Raymond come to you and apologize."
Raymond had been independent since he was a kid and grew up with William, so he listened to him.
So when William insisted on his marriage back then, he gave in because of William’s health.
He added, "As for Olivia, don’t worry about her. I won’t let her into the Montague family. Even without you, she wouldn’t stand a chance."
So Olivia was already a no-go in William’s book.
Listening to William’s comforting words, Selena got a bit teary-eyed.
"Thank you."
William was all smiles, and the anger from last night because of Raymond had mostly faded.
"Silly girl, why are you thanking me? You’ve been bullied, and you don’t even come back to Ashbourne Manor. That house was a wedding gift for you. You decide who stays there. Even Raymond can’t stay if you don’t want him to. That house is all yours."
When they first got married, William had given them this house.
Selena only knew it was a wedding gift from William to her and Raymond, not that it was hers alone.
"And I gave it to you before you got married, so it’s your premarital property."
William’s words were so touching that Selena worried she might start crying if she kept talking.
Besides her mom, William was the best elder to her.
After hanging up, she had a rare pleasant morning. She leisurely made breakfast, and after eating, she headed to the hospital.
Olivia had been locked in her room, smashing things ever since she got back from Ashbourne Manor.
Thinking of William’s humiliation, her eyes burned with anger.
She thought, 'Damn it!'
'What is so great about that ugly woman? William actually humiliated me for her!'
"Olivia, you’ve been locked in there all night. Come out and eat something."
Sofia knocked on the door, her voice full of concern.
Olivia took a deep breath. She had been too hasty. Knowing that William didn’t like her, she still rushed over because of a few words from Catherine, only to get caught.
Her eyes were red, and she had bitten her lips until they bled. "Come in, Sofia."
Sofia sighed in relief and quickly opened the door and walked in. "Olivia, what’s wrong?"
"Didn’t you join a bunch of socialite groups? Spread the word in those groups that Raymond’s wife is out every night, sleeping around, and got caught in bed with someone else. Say William only keeps her in the Montague family because she once saved his life. Also, mention that she’s super ugly. Post it in every group anonymously."
Since William was so happy with that woman, she’d make sure that woman was disgraced in their social circle!
