Chapter 371 Just an Adult Game
For the Montague family, she always felt like a piece of traded goods.
Raymond paused, his lips brushing flirtatiously against her ear. "What's the use of your worthless husband?"
Selena lowered her eyelashes, thinking, 'How can you insult yourself like that?'
Raymond's hand moved to her waist. "Have you made up your mind?"
His words were like a trap, his gentle voice trying to lure her in. Selena didn't respond, so he assumed she had agreed. He lifted her up, kissing her as he placed her on the sterilized table.
Selena was kissed until she was out of breath, and then she felt a tingling pain on her neck. He was leaving hickeys. Raymond had a strong desire for control in such matters.
But at that moment, Lucas's voice came from outside. "I just saw you come back. Did you forget something?"
Selena's mind cleared for a moment, and she pushed Raymond away. She got off the table and rebuttoned all the buttons, her fingers trembling slightly.
Raymond's face instantly turned dark, then he chuckled lightly. There was a hint of sarcasm in his laugh.
Selena didn't dare to look at him. She finished buttoning the last button and took her steps towards the door. But Raymond pulled her back, slowly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'll give you time to think, but I have a slight case of OCD. While you're thinking, it's best not to let him touch you."
Selena's whole body stiffened, her mind even more chaotic, and she didn't say anything. After a few seconds, she asked, "Do you like me?"
Prideful as he always was, Raymond said lightly, "Penny, you're married, and I'm married, too. It's just an adult game, nothing more."
Selena's face turned a few shades paler, her eyelashes trembling violently. At that moment, she truly felt a sense of humiliation. It was as if her life was a toy to be played with at will.
Raymond was still somewhat aroused, especially hearing Lucas's crescendoing voice outside. It seemed like he was about to come in, giving Raymond a secret thrill. He bent down and pecked her lips.
"Penny, smart people should know what to choose." Selena opened her mouth but couldn't speak. She silently opened the door and closed it behind her, so Lucas didn't see Raymond inside.
Her mouth still held the faint, rich taste of the wine from his kiss. Lucas was about to ask something but noticed her blushed expression and said nothing.
When they got outside, he said, "I'll drive you home."
Selena's mind was a mess, and she needed a good night's sleep, so she nodded.
Raymond came out just in time to see her getting into Lucas's car. The car slowly drove away. He suddenly felt a tickle in his throat and wanted a cigarette.
Getting into his own car, he drove to Sky Club. Alex was usually idle all year round, but he noticed that Raymond had also been idle these past few days, coming to drink again.
And Raymond's lips were a bit more colorful—redder than his usual pale lips. Alex couldn't help but lean in and sniff him carefully. There was a faint scent of perfume, barely noticeable unless he got close. But he instantly recognized it as Penny's scent.
Today, Selena was supposed to be Caterlington's date and had sprayed on some special perfume.
"Raymond, do you know what your eyes are reflecting right now?"
Raymond ignored him and grabbed a deck of cards, joining the others for a game. Someone curiously asked, "Reflecting what? Raymond must have just come back from accompanying Olivia, right?"
Alex smiled without saying a word, leaning close to Raymond and speaking in a voice only the two of them could hear. "Reflecting the thrill of having an affair behind someone's husband's back."
Raymond pushed Alex away. "Get lost."
