Chapter 154 She Wants That Position

Raymond glanced up at the sky, looking totally unbothered.

"All done over there?" he asked.

Back in the day, Catherine had split them up, and Raymond ended up marrying Selena and moving abroad for three years.

What could Olivia possibly be dealing with? Probably just holding onto that old grudge from being separated by Catherine.

She thought Raymond would come running back to her or blow up her phone with apologies, but nope, he stayed cool as a cucumber about the whole thing.

So Olivia was stuck in a weird spot. If she came back, Catherine would be all over her. If she stayed away, she and Raymond had no shot.

Raymond did try to keep Olivia back then, but not in the way she wanted. She wanted him to see her as irreplaceable, to fight the Montague family for her, to leave with her, to embarrass Catherine, and let her vent her anger.

The Stone family wasn't some big deal, just had a bit of money.

Olivia couldn't break into the elite circles of Silver Bay City, but she lived a pretty cushy life. Spoiled since she was a kid, and after getting with Raymond, plenty of guys tried to butter her up. Everyone thought she'd end up marrying Raymond.

Because of that, Olivia got a bit full of herself, always thinking Raymond would come crawling back.

So when Raymond tried once or twice, Olivia didn't budge.

She wanted Raymond to declare to everyone that she was the one and only for him.

But Raymond didn't do that, so Olivia stayed mad until he got married.

When she heard the news, it was too late to stop it. She just sulked abroad, still waiting for Raymond to come around.

But Raymond left for three years, barely talking to anyone, always busy with work, and never seeing her again.

Now Olivia finally got it. She had to come back; she couldn't let this cold war drag on.

Olivia always thought they were in a cold war.

Both were too proud to back down.

It was always their own issues, nothing to do with anyone else.

As for Selena, she was a non-factor.

Olivia was sure Raymond still had feelings for her; he was just too proud.

Since he wouldn't make the first move, she would.

"Raymond, I'm coming back. Aren't you happy?" Olivia asked.

"Yeah, I'm happy," Raymond said flatly, taking a sip of his coffee.

They both went quiet.

Olivia suddenly realized that after all these years, there was a gap between them.

"Will you come to pick me up?" she asked.

"I will," Raymond replied.

Hearing that, Olivia felt relieved.

Raymond was probably still upset about her not reconciling back then. She'd have to smooth things over.

"When I come back, I want to meet your wife," Olivia said.

Alice's face popped into Raymond's mind, and he frowned.

"Why do you want to see her?" His tone got colder.

Olivia smiled a bit. It seemed he didn't just dislike his wife; he was kind of disgusted by her.

"She took my place. I have to see what she looks like. Raymond, wait for me to come back," Olivia said.

Then she hung up.

Olivia's cheeks were a bit red, smiling with satisfaction.

That last line was to let Raymond know she still liked him, always had, and she wanted to be his wife.
