Chapter 264 It was sent by Olivia herself
A few hours back, Paddy was about to clock out and head over to see James.
James hadn't been showing up at the company lately, and during their phone chats, Paddy found out James was in pretty bad shape and had been making multiple hospital trips. Paddy was really worried about James being MIA these past few days.
Even though they had a falling out three years ago because of something Selena said, James kept Paddy on the payroll with all his benefits intact, which was a bit of a relief.
Now, Paddy wanted to drop by James' office with some paperwork. Lately, Kenny had been speaking for James, and that rubbed Paddy the wrong way.
Even though Kenny had been with James for ages, Paddy couldn't wrap his head around why a middle-aged assistant like Kenny had more clout than him.
When Paddy got to James' office, he saw the door was open. Just as he reached out, he heard Beatrice's voice inside.
Beatrice, who had a big title thanks to James but no real power, wasn't her usual supportive self. Instead, she was making some pretty inappropriate noises.
"Kenny, you're so good, faster."
"You're way better than that old James. When we take over the company, I'll buy you a villa."
"Nick's already working on how to deal with Selena. You can count on me for the tasks you've given, Kenny."
Kenny sneered, cursed, "Bitch," and kept going.
Paddy stood outside, stunned, thinking he must be imagining things. This was his buddy's office, with his buddy's wife and assistant inside. Shocked, he stepped back and accidentally kicked a mop, making a noise.
Beatrice, lost in her pleasure, didn't notice. But Kenny, still somewhat composed, had a sharp look in his eyes.
"Who?"
He quickly pulled up his pants, stepped out of the office, didn't see anyone, and frowned.
Beatrice followed, her legs a bit wobbly. "What's wrong?"
Kenny glanced at the nearby surveillance camera and smirked coldly. "Nothing, I'll check it out. Don't worry, make sure Nick acts soon, or we'll always be looking over our shoulders."
Beatrice hugged Kenny's waist, showing a hint of girlish shyness. "Don't worry. I've already given the order."
Fast forward to now, Paddy was still in the private room waiting for Selena. But a bunch of strangers barged in, forcing drink after drink down his throat. By now, he was rolling his eyes, unable to even beg for mercy.
The bar he texted Selena about wasn't the one where Raymond was. It was in the same area but a bit of a distance away. As Selena was leaving, she received a text from an unknown number asking her to pick up Raymond but she ignored it, thinking it was a prank.
After all, even if Raymond was really drunk and needed help, Olivia was already back, making Selena's presence as his nominal wife unnecessary. This message was probably from Olivia herself, just trying to assert her authority.
Selena ignored the message and headed straight to the bar where Paddy was. While this bar also had a high average spend per person, it was way less fancy compared to Raymond's spot.
"Please, spare me. I won't tell anyone. I won't tell anyone."
"Please!"
Paddy was already passed out drunk, with his vomit all over the room. But the group of people wouldn't let up, clearly intending to drink him to death.
Not being young anymore and having been diagnosed with hypertension earlier, Paddy had already passed out from the excessive drinking.
The surveillance in the room had been intentionally damaged, showing that everything had been planned from the moment Paddy walked in.
When Selena pushed open the door of the private room, the first thing that hit her was the strong stench of alcohol mixed with vomit. The room was a disaster, and Paddy lay there in his own vomit.
Selena took a step back, immediately called for emergency help, and within minutes, the nurses who arrived had grim looks on their faces.
Selena's face went pale, especially when Paddy was carried past her. His eyes were still open, but there was no light in them, indicating no hope of revival.
As expected, when the ambulance got to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed it as alcohol poisoning, which led to immediate death.
