Chapter 28

"I know, don't worry, I won't let her get her way." Raymond clearly didn't want to dive into a conversation about his wife.

Catherine knew Raymond well enough to get that he really didn't have any feelings for his wife.

But everyone knew the Fair Group's situation; they were about to hit the second round of financing and definitely didn't want to lose the Montague family's backing.

Getting a divorce and cutting ties with the Fair family right now? Super tough.

Raymond hung up and casually set his phone down. "I've got ten minutes. What does Ms. Cooper want to ask?"

Selena, unfazed by the previous call, responded professionally, "I'm curious about Mr. Montague's future plans. What sports does your partner enjoy? Reading or yoga? How many kids are you planning to have?"

These details would all shape the room's design.

Raymond was caught off guard by these questions. 'Partner?'

When that word came up, a face did pop into his mind, but he wouldn't call it a partner.

He'd never really thought about it, nor did he believe any woman could bear him a child.

Suddenly, his eyes landed on Selena's face.

Selena froze, roughly guessing what he was thinking, and respectfully said, "Mr. Montague, don't worry. I took a morning-after pill after that night; I won't get pregnant."

John, who was coming in with coffee, almost dropped the tray when he heard that, causing it to wobble.

He barely managed to steady it and then looked at Selena.

Selena was way beyond John's understanding of women. Most would be thrilled just seeing Raymond.

And to be so calm after sleeping with Raymond? Probably only Selena could pull that off.

Selena wasn't emotionless; it was like she didn't see Raymond as attractive at all.

Men have this weird sense of competitiveness, and Raymond couldn't help but wonder if his skills in bed needed work, so that after getting out of bed, she could be so heartless.

Raymond leaned back, his posture cold and indifferent.

Selena seemed oblivious to the awkward atmosphere. Seeing John bring the coffee over, she nodded politely and thanked him.

"Mr. Montague, you haven't answered my question. This will affect my design ideas, so I need to be clear on this," Selena said.

"Ms. Cooper, just leave space for all of these. In a house over a thousand square feet, even if I have three kids in the future, there'll be enough space for them to play, right?" Raymond responded.

Three kids?

How much did Raymond like Olivia to plan his future so meticulously?

"Does Mr. Montague have any particular hobbies?"

Raymond's eyes flickered slightly, and then he said, "No."

As Selena expected, he was boring.

Selena stood up, having finished her questions, and it was time to leave. "Then please hand me the keys, Mr. Montague. I need to do an on-site inspection."

"Keypad lock, the password is my birthday." Raymond's tone was indifferent, without any emotion.

Selena clearly didn't know when Raymond's birthday was.

The info online could be wrong. What month was it?

Her frowning and thoughtful expression was really obvious, and Raymond felt inexplicably annoyed. "Ms. Cooper, you didn't even check the basic info of your client before doing business?"

Selena's eyelashes fluttered slightly. "I'm very sorry, that was my oversight."
