Chapter 93 Raymond's Wife Can Only Be Selena

Raymond and his crew helped William back, and on the way, William couldn't help but call Selena.

Selena was still standing in the hallway, her mind blank from what the doctor had just told her.

It wasn't until her phone rang that she snapped out of it.

Her fingers felt stiff, and she rubbed her hands together to shake off the cold before answering.

The phone screen showed she had missed the chance to pick up William.

She quickly apologized, "Grandpa, I'm so sorry. My dad was suddenly hospitalized, and I'm here with him, so I missed picking you up."

William had figured as much and quickly reassured her.

"Selena, why is James in the hospital? Is he feeling better now? Don't worry about dinner tonight. Just stay with him."

Selena's eyes rarely teared up. James had liver cancer, and it was in the late stage. She didn't know who to tell.

Brian? No way, they had just had a bit of a falling out.

Telling the Montague family was out of the question. Even though William treated her well, she didn't want anyone else to know, thinking they might believe she was trying to gain sympathy.

"He's just feeling a bit unwell and hasn't woken up yet. Grandpa, I'll get you a gift next time to make up for it," Selena said.

William chuckled, "Why are you apologizing to me? I also brought you a gift. I'll have Raymond give it to you later."

Selena's eyes teared up again as she looked up at the ceiling. "Okay, thank you, Grandpa."

Hearing Selena call him Grandpa so affectionately made William feel even better.

After hanging up, he took out a box from beside him and handed it to Raymond. "This is a gift for Selena. Don't forget to give it to her. Also, James from the Fair family is in the hospital. He hasn't been particularly good or bad to Selena, but since you're James's son-in-law, you should show him some respect. Take a gift to the hospital when you have time."

William genuinely adored Selena, and as a result, he also showed great respect for the other members of the Fair family.

He had already looked into Selena's life over the years. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible, either. Mainly, she was too strong-willed and wouldn't tell anyone when she was wronged. She went to Ridgefield for high school on her own and then encountered that kind of teacher in college.

William had wanted to call the school several times, but Selena stopped him, saying she wanted to clear her name on her own.

And she did. Recently, Silver Bay University got a new president, and Samantha was booted from her position.

Thinking about Samantha, William snorted, "People from the Stone family are always using underhanded tactics."

Hearing William suddenly mention the Stone family, Raymond frowned. "Grandpa, what does this have to do with the Stone family?"

Seeing him still defending the Stone family, William sneered, "Isn't Samantha Olivia's aunt? Look at what she did at the school! With such character, I don't think there's anything respectable about the Stone family."

Raymond's mouth twitched as he flipped through the documents in his hand and replied, "Samantha is Samantha, and the other Stones shouldn't have to bear the weight of her actions. You can't judge the entire Stone family based on one person."

William still felt uncomfortable and gripped his cane tightly.

That Olivia wasn't a good person, either; He won't allow her to marry Raymond.

Raymond's wife could only be Selena.

Anyone who dared to interfere would be declaring war on him!

William said, "Remember to visit James in the hospital this week. He's your father-in-law, and you should show him respect."

Raymond replied nonchalantly, "Got it."

He would just have John bring some gifts over.

William thought Raymond would actually listen and nodded in satisfaction.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, James had already woken up, still feeling pain all over.

He saw Beatrice by the bedside and frowned, "Why am I here?"

Beatrice still didn't know what illness James had. After all, James had been complaining about pain for years, and it went away with painkillers, so she didn't take it seriously.

Beatrice replied, "You fainted at Ashbourne Manor."

James glanced around and asked, "Where's Selena?"

Mentioning Selena made Beatrice's face darken; she said, "The nurse just sent her to the cafeteria to get some food. The hospital has customized meals for patients. If you miss this time, there won't be any left. If you don't like it, I'll have the chef at home make something and bring it over."

James coughed twice and sighed, "Beatrice, do you think Selena resents me for marrying her to Raymond?"
