Chapter 1603 The Tone Carries a Childlike Excitement

The young man eyed her curiously. "Calla, you seem pretty ticked off at Zaid. But isn't he the one Isolde wants to promote?"

Calla kept fiddling with the test tube in her hand, her voice flat and emotionless. "Just don't like the look of him."

The seven executives stayed silent; they all knew she had a bit of a quirky temperament.

Raymond stood right in front of her, able to clearly see the contents on the screen.

The conference room where the executives were located didn't seem to be in this area; the decor was completely different.

What puzzled him was that the background where these people were seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he had seen it before.

He was certain it wasn't within the research base.

His brow furrowed, and his eyelashes fluttered intensely.

Maybe these people weren't in this area at all, or even in Arcturus.

Since no one knew the identities of the seven executives, it was highly likely they were high-ranking officials from other countries, which was why they had to cover their faces.

It was also possible that they didn't know each other's identities and were merely in a cooperative relationship.

Raymond's hand, hanging by his side, clenched slightly. If he were one of these people, he wouldn't come to Vesperia alone either; it would be too conspicuous.

Recently, there was a large conference being held in Vistalia, with many high-ranking officials from various countries attending. It was a perfect opportunity.

These executives were probably all in Vistalia at the moment.

The only young man among the executives who showed his face likely didn't hold any significant position in other countries, which was why he dared to be so open.

Raymond's mind was racing. When he looked again, Calla had already closed the meeting and was quietly continuing her experiment.

Raymond absentmindedly looked at the reagent in his hand. They had all been misled, thinking that the high-ranking officials of the research base were in another area of the base, possibly in a well-protected, isolated section.

But now it seemed that these people rarely, if ever, came to the research base. They only needed the data, drugs, and results from the base; there was no need for them to travel all the way here.

Raymond had originally planned to create chaos tonight using the weapon in Experiment Box No. 8 to locate the executives.

Now that he had determined their location, he needed to revise his plan.

His eyes narrowed. Those people were in Vistalia, and the high-level conference there would last for two weeks. During that time, they definitely wouldn't come to the research base.

Raymond still planned to act tonight.

He had to deliver medicine to Experiment Box No. 8 later, which would be his opportunity.

Time ticked by, and elsewhere in the research base, Zaid looked at the badge in front of him.

It was the badge representing the chairman. Isolde had promised that he would definitely be elected this time.

Zaid's hand slowly clenched as he looked at Atlas, who was quietly sitting nearby.

Ever since Zaid had made that request, Atlas had been mimicking him constantly.

At the moment, Atlas was holding a glass of wine, casually sniffing it at the rim.

But Zaid knew he hated alcohol.

He couldn't tell which wine was better; he just mechanically swallowed it like water.

But his wine-tasting posture was very elegant, as if he were a connoisseur, something he had learned from Zaid.

He was like an emotionless mimicry machine.

Zaid suddenly felt very annoyed. "Atlas, stop mimicking me."

Atlas's eyes instantly showed a hint of confusion. Just then, the clock on the wall chimed; it was time for him to go accompany Isolde.

He stood up and placed the wine glass on the table.

The next second, he reached out to touch the badge, his tone carrying a childlike excitement. "Zaid, congratulations."
