Chapter 142 Is She Blinded by Love?

The room went dead silent; everyone could tell Raymond was a bit ticked off.

Selena had planned to kiss Caterlington, but Emily shoved her, leading to an unexpected kiss with Raymond.

At first, everyone thought she was the one who hooked up with Raymond, but now they were relieved.

The women started giving each other suspicious looks.

As for Selena, they were just plain jealous

After all, she did kiss Raymond, and his lips looked so thin and kissable.

After Selena apologized, she noticed the bottle in the middle of the room still spinning.

The vibe got a bit weird after her kiss with Raymond.

No one dared to mess with Raymond directly, sensing his cold mood, so everyone stayed quiet.

But Emily's behavior needed to be called out, so someone said, "Emily, wasn't that a bit much? Caterlington didn't even say anything."

Emily snapped back and retorted confidently, "Who told her to kiss people randomly? She doesn't even know Caterlington well!"

Last time at Silver Bay University, Selena was accused of trying to seduce Caterlington, and now she wanted to kiss him in front of Emily. No way Emily was letting that slide!

"This is truth or dare. If you don't want to play, then don't participate," Caterlington said, the only one who dared to talk to Emily like that.

Emily's eyes immediately reddened, trembling with anger.

She glared at Selena hatefully, gritting her teeth.

Selena played dumb and waited for the game to end.

An hour later, the game finally wrapped up.

Selena got up to leave but remembered the $8 million she had to pay back, so she asked Raymond, "Mr. Montague, what's your account number?"

Raymond was holding a glass of wine, twirling it lightly with his fingers.

Selena had a few more drinks during the game and was a bit tipsy, but she still remembered her debt.

Raymond, however, was very sober and looked up at her.

With a few too many drinks, Selena's cheeks were flushed, but she wasn't too drunk; her eyes sparkled, just like that night.

The scent of wine lingered in the air.

"Where did you get the money?" Raymond asked.

Selena replied, "I borrowed it."

Raymond noticed that Selena's clothes and accessories weren't from luxury brands. Plus, her relatives lived in the countryside, and she was renting an apartment, which didn't scream wealthy.

Who would lend her $8 million so easily?

Just as he was about to say she didn't need to pay him back, she added, "My husband lent it to me; he's very generous."

Raymond had thought her husband was unreliable, and her relatives said he was fooling around.

But Selena always defended her husband, whether on the phone or in private, never saying a bad word about him.

'Is she blinded by love? Or does she not want to reveal her marriage troubles?' Raymond wondered.

There were many women like that in their circle, whose husbands had mistresses, yet they pretended everything was fine.

Raymond sneered and stood up. "If you don't have the money, don't take on responsibilities yourself next time."

Selena also stood up and said, "Mr. Montague, please tell me your account number."

By now, everyone else in the private room had left, all drunk.

Emily offered to take Caterlington home, and Alex went to settle the bill, leaving just the two of them.

Selena followed behind Raymond, feeling a bit anxious with his silent treatment.

"Mr. Montague?" Selena called out softly.

Raymond stopped, his tone a bit cold. "If you have extra money, donate it to charity."

Even though Selena was a bit tipsy, she realized he was angry but didn't know why, so she changed the subject, saying, "Then I'll bring some soup to Mr. Montague later."

Raymond's back stiffened, and he couldn't help but look back at her.

Selena was already stunning, and her tone just now had a hint of grievance, which she hadn't noticed.

Raymond saw her take a step forward, closing the distance between them.

He could even smell her fragrance, just like that night.
