Chapter 210 An Embarrassing Scene

Selena caught a glimpse of them making out and awkwardly turned away.

"Sorry you had to see that," she muttered.

Kissing like that in a public restaurant? It was bound to make anyone feel uncomfortable if the couple didn’t care.

Selena wasn’t used to such PDA. Besides that one night with Raymond, she hardly ever got close to men, so she was clueless about handling this.

A woman was perched on Lucas's lap, blocking him from view. From where Selena stood, she could only see the woman's back, the guy's hands around her waist, and part of his body. She had no idea it was Lucas.

Raymond thought Selena would chew the couple out, but her reaction threw him off.

He glanced at Selena, his eyes filled with sympathy and regret.

Maybe the food wasn’t his thing?

Raymond hadn’t touched his knife and fork, just leaned back slowly.

His posture was all elegant, and with his smooth skin catching the light, he had this unexplainable air of nobility.

"It's getting late. Wanna call your husband?"

If Lucas’s phone rang later, she’d know she was being played.

Raymond wasn’t one to meddle in other people’s business. But since he saw it, he couldn’t just ignore it.

Seeing Selena still clueless made him feel a bit uneasy.

Selena was a powerhouse in business, but a total dunce in relationships.

"No need, he’s probably working late."

Lucas was using the "working late" excuse to cover up his cheating.

Raymond lowered his eyes; this was a first for him.

He didn’t push it further, just stared out the window.

"Let’s head back after we eat."

Selena noticed he hadn’t taken a bite and figured the food wasn’t his thing.

She didn’t push it, as she was pretty hungry herself.

After forcing down a few bites, she got up to pay the bill.

Raymond saw the couple sitting near the cashier. If Selena went over, she’d definitely see them.

He didn’t stop her, just watched.

But she walked right past them, paid the bill, and came back without a glance.

"I can grab a cab home."

She had come in Raymond’s car, and Ashbourne Manor was in the city center, close to everything.

She just needed to wait for Raymond to fall asleep, then head back to Ashbourne Manor, and leave for Ridgefield the next morning after Raymond left.

Raymond didn’t move, seeing her completely oblivious expression, he raised an eyebrow slightly.

But he didn’t say anything, just walked out with her.

As they were about to get in the car, he couldn’t help but ask, "Your husband travels a lot for work; haven’t you ever suspected anything?"

This was pretty much telling her straight up that her husband was shady. If she wasn’t dumb, she’d figure it out.

After all, she got into Silver Bay City Art Institute, she couldn’t be that dumb.

But Selena just nodded. "I trust him. Every man in the world might cheat, but not him."

Raymond looked up and saw the husband she trusted so much already getting into a Mercedes with the other woman.

Clearly, their next stop was a hotel.

He glanced at Selena again, pursed his lips, and said nothing.

Selena watched him get in the car, slightly bowed, and through the car window, smiled at him with those curved eyes. "See you next time."

Tonight, with his interruption, the gloom about the Fair family had completely lifted, and she felt much lighter.

Raymond looked at her smiling eyes, more beautiful than the city lights around them.

But he just rolled up the window and drove off.

Selena thought he was so cold as she stood there, but she smiled and shook her head, knowing that if he weren’t cold, he wouldn’t be Raymond.
