Chapter 166 Moving Day
Selena looked away, feeling pretty indifferent, but she couldn't help thinking Raymond's taste was just terrible.
She didn't know Olivia that well, but everything Olivia did seemed so fake.
And she even kept a woman who admired him close as a spy.
Everyone stayed quiet until they got to the first floor.
Out of politeness, Selena stayed a step behind them.
A bunch of senior execs followed Raymond out.
Selena wanted to head straight to the studio, but then she remembered James's task: take Raymond to the Fair Villa tonight.
Honestly, given how much Raymond looked down on her as his wife, even if she were seriously ill, he probably wouldn't go to the Fair Villa to see her unless William forced him to, and even then, he'd go reluctantly.
Selena was tired of this hide-and-seek game with Raymond, but she had signed the contract, so she had to keep up the act.
Plus, the project’s start date was set, and she'd be busy running to the materials market a lot.
Just thinking about being exhausted every day and then having to tiptoe around Raymond when she got back to Ashbourne Manor made her feel worn out.
Selena sighed and heard her phone ring; it was the bank.
The money from selling her house had finally come through!
Her eyes lit up, thinking that after a streak of bad luck, she finally had something to be happy about.
"Okay, I get it. I'll contact the agent right away to pay the remaining amount," Selena said.
She didn't need to repay the eight million dollars from Raymond, which saved her a lot. She owed him too many favors, and the best thing she could do for him was to stay far away and not mess up his reunion with Olivia.
Selena was smart enough to do this without Raymond telling her.
She first went to the agent to finalize the paperwork and then went to the new house.
The previous owner had already renovated it, so she could move in right away.
Selena almost couldn't wait to go to Ashbourne Manor to pack up her stuff.
Seeing her do this, Fiona was a bit worried. "Ms. Fair, this might not be a good idea. You haven't been staying at Ashbourne Manor, and now that Mr. William Montague is back. He's not as easy to fool as others. Last time, he even personally checked Mr. Raymond Montague's room and didn't look too pleased. If your stuff is also gone, this might not stay under wraps."
Fiona was looking out for her.
Selena immediately felt a headache. With William back in Silver Bay City, the thing she worried about most was her situation with Raymond.
Feeling deflated, she put down half of her stuff. "I'll move some things over first and still come back often, but I can't let Max keep staying in the back room. I'll take Max over first."
Ashbourne Manor was nice, and Max could run around freely, which would be perfect if Raymond weren't there.
The house Selena bought now was also pretty good, but it was still a notch below Ashbourne Manor.
Hearing this, Fiona stopped trying to persuade her.
She understood that Selena really had no feelings for Raymond. If Raymond knew that the woman he always looked down on didn't care about him either, who knows how he'd feel.
Selena took half of her stuff to her new house, which was actually just a small suitcase.
After putting her clothes in the closet, she familiarized Max with the new place.
Max was pretty well-behaved, barking a few times before standing at the door, looking across the hall.
"It's so cute," a woman's surprised voice came from the door, followed by her sweet plea to the man beside her. "Carter, I want a puppy too."
Selena was still sweeping the floor. Hearing this, she looked up and saw Carter at the door, holding a woman she didn't recognize.
This house was worth over ten million dollars and was in a pretty upscale neighborhood, but Selena didn't expect Carter's new girlfriend to live right across from her.
The five-story building had two units per floor. Selena bought the top one, so it seemed Carter's new girlfriend was her neighbor.
