Chapter 134 Raymond, I Miss You

Since the distance wasn't too far, Raymond definitely caught every word Selena said.

She felt a wave of embarrassment but then realized Raymond probably didn't know she was talking about him. She let out a quiet sigh of relief and focused on his injury.

After all, he got hurt protecting her from a knife, so she should show some concern.

"Mr. Montague, how's your injury?" Selena asked, putting her phone away and walking over quickly.

Carter, standing casually behind Raymond, mimicked Selena's tone. "We fell in love freely and love each other very much."

Always the joker, Carter grinned at Selena after his little performance.

Selena knew they had heard her sweet words, so she just smiled.

Carter didn't care if Selena was married; he just found it funny that someone as cool as her could say such things. It seemed she really loved her husband.

Thinking back to when he asked Selena to pretend to be his girlfriend, Carter felt a bit guilty.

Carter said, rubbing the back of his neck, "Penny, I had no choice but to ask you to pretend to be my girlfriend before. Your husband won't be mad, right?"

Selena found his words amusing and smiled. "No, he's not that petty."

Carter raised an eyebrow. "You don't know. Men are all petty about these things."

Selena coughed, wanting to change the subject. She looked at Raymond's hand again. "Why did the wound reopen?"

Raymond's eyes met Selena's. She looked genuinely worried about his wound.

When he didn't answer, Selena continued, "Mr. Montague, I'll make some nourishing soup for you tonight."

Carter, puzzled, looked between Raymond and Selena. "What soup? Penny, why are you making soup for Raymond?"

Selena briefly explained, and Carter's eyes lit up with understanding before he laughed. "In that case, Penny, you stay with Raymond and get his wound stitched up again. I'll go hang out with my new girlfriend. See you around."

With that, Carter took off.

Selena had no choice but to approach Raymond.

Seeing her reluctant expression, Raymond felt a surge of anger and sneered. Didn't she realize this injury was for her?

He stayed silent, radiating a cold aura.

But Selena either didn't notice or didn't care about Raymond's mood. She just wanted to get his wound treated quickly.

She found a doctor and watched as Raymond's wound was stitched up again.

After it was done, she grabbed a few bottles of disinfectant.

The doctor advised, "Mr. Montague, the wound can't reopen again, or it will easily get infected. Make sure to disinfect it properly and change the bandage every five hours."

Knowing Raymond was busy, Selena quickly set a five-hour alarm on her phone.

"Mr. Montague, I'll message you when it's time," Selena said, glancing up from her phone.

Since she was taking care of Raymond and standing slightly behind him, she leaned in a bit as she spoke, her breath brushing against his ear.

Raymond's body stiffened, and he glanced at her.

Selena didn't realize the position was somewhat intimate. She shook the disinfectant in her hand and smiled. "Let's go, I'll take you back."

But when they reached the lobby downstairs, Raymond stopped, as if he had forgotten something.

"Car keys," he reminded Selena.

She quickly turned back to the elevator. "I'll go get them."

Raymond didn't have time to add that his phone was also there.

When Selena returned to the ward, she immediately saw the phone and car keys.

Just as she was about to pick them up, a new message flashed on the phone, from someone named Olivia.

Olivia: [Raymond, I miss you.]
