Chapter 186 Finding a Fake Husband
The next morning, Selena waited for Raymond to leave before heading downstairs.
She had plans to meet Shelley at a café.
"Shelley, I need you to find someone to pretend to be my husband for a bit," Selena said.
Shelley almost spit out her coffee when she heard that.
She coughed and stared at Selena in disbelief. "Raymond still doesn't know who you really are?"
Selena nodded, clutching her coffee cup. To her, Raymond was just her boss.
But every night, she couldn't help but think about that night with him. It was hard to stay indifferent.
Even though it was intense and left her with some bruises, Raymond was pretty impressive in bed.
And that thirty-second kiss? It was like a hook that kept tugging at her heart.
Selena was trying to keep her emotions in check now.
Once she finished her job at Raymond's house, and after Olivia came back to explain everything to William, Selena could finally retire with her mission accomplished.
She never thought about having anything serious with Raymond, especially since she had her own secrets.
Shelley was shocked but saw that Selena was serious, so she started thinking of potential candidates.
Selena looked at Shelley, who was always perfectly groomed, with her nails done by professionals, dressed in expensive clothes, and carrying designer bags. It was obvious she came from a wealthy family.
But Shelley was with Philip, and so far, Philip thought she was just a waitress. Whether he was really that naive or just playing along was anyone's guess.
Selena's background was different. She had been falsely accused in school and had met all kinds of people at work, making her very cautious.
Shelley, on the other hand, had been well-protected and supervised by her family. Because of her affluent background, no boys dared to approach her during school.
It was said that several people in Silver Bay City were pursuing her, but she wasn't interested, saying those men looked like typical elites, always talking about financial data, which bored her.
Philip was handsome and would have been very popular in school.
But thinking about the incident at the hotel last time, Selena remained cautious and gave a word of advice, "You dress so meticulously every day, hasn't Philip gotten suspicious?"
Shelley immediately smiled. "Philip is very naive. I told him these things were bought from small shops, and he believed it all. He even said he would work hard to buy me branded goods."
Mentioning Philip, Shelley's face lit up with happiness.
She assed, "Philip had no sexual experience before, so he's very vigorous in bed."
Selena wasn't as open as Shelley. She glanced around and felt a bit helpless. "Alright, I get it. Just help me think about my issue."
"Selena, I don't have anyone suitable. The people I know are all within the circle, and they will inevitably run into Raymond. If you really want to keep it from Raymond, you might as well hire someone."
Then Shelley's eyes lit up with an idea. "Right, Philip has a good friend with a similar background, but he's not in our circle. He could definitely help."
Selena didn't object. Philip was far from her circle, so the chances of being exposed were very low. "Okay, help me get in touch," she said.
Shelley called Philip.
Philip, holding a cigarette, was playing cards with a group of people.
The atmosphere was smoky and chaotic, with cigarette butts and water bottles on the floor, and piles of cash on the table.
Someone joked, "Philip, I heard you recently hooked up with a socialite? Nice going."
