Chapter 225 I've Been Waiting for You all Day

"You came to see me now because you didn't book the hardwood floors in advance. I like you, and out of respect for Steve, I'd love to help, but you know my stuff needs to be booked three years ahead. It's tough to make adjustments last minute."

Harrison's tone was genuine, and Selena smiled.

"Sir, I heard that sometimes clients mess up their dates or have issues with their orders and have to return them. I'm not asking for someone else's order, but if there are any returns, could you let me know? I'll pay a good price."

Harrison didn't hesitate this time.

"What's your name?"

"Selena."

Harrison smiled. "Since you're his student and I've done you a favor, stay and finish a painting for me. If anyone cancels an order, you'll be the first I contact."

"Thank you."

The painting Harrison wanted her to finish wasn't complicated. Someone had started it but stopped for some reason. Selena found it hard to continue without knowing the original artist's intent.

But then inspiration struck, and she added some interactive elements to the otherwise stiff content, bringing the painting to life.

Three hours had passed by the time she finished, and a servant had brought her some tea.

Harrison's tea was also quite exquisite, made from top-quality leaves.

Just as Selena was about to reach for the tea, she heard a lively female voice from outside.

"Dad, isn't Raymond supposed to come today? I've been waiting all morning, and he's still not here!"

Selena's hand froze as she looked toward the voice and saw a well-dressed girl, about twenty years old, walking in.

The girl saw Selena and then the painting, and anger flashed across her face.

"Who are you? How can you touch other people's things so casually? It's so rude!"

She strode over, trying to grab the painting.

Harrison scolded, "Don't be so rude. I asked her to paint it. This has been sitting here for a month as a test of your ability, but you've been fooling around in Silver Bay City and haven't started it!"

"I've painted a few, but you weren't satisfied!"

Selena suddenly realized that the original content of the painting was a test to assess the artist's imagination.

She had graduated from the Silver Bay City Art Academy and had encountered similar tests in class.

The girl glared at Selena and snorted. "Pretentious. I at least got into the Silver Bay City Art Academy. My last painting was even exhibited at the school."

Selena looked up at her. She wasn't from Mia's class, maybe an upperclassman.

Harrison sighed and rubbed his temples.

"Look at how she painted it. I just sent a photo to your teacher, and he gave it a perfect score."

"Impossible. My teacher is very strict with grades and has never given a perfect score. Is she related to the teacher?"

Rosalind couldn't help but complain. But then other voices came from outside, and her eyes lit up.

"Raymond is here!"

Harrison sighed, and then they heard Rosalind's playful voice outside.

"Raymond, you haven't visited my dad in so long!"

Raymond was followed by John, who was carrying several gifts and handed them to a servant.

Entering the room, Raymond was surprised to see Selena still there. Business discussions shouldn't take this long. Either Harrison would have directly refused, or Selena would have told him that it was Raymond's house that needed the floors, and Harrison would have agreed.

In either case, it should have ended quickly.

Rosalind had already linked her arm with Raymond's and looked up at him with a smile.

"I've been waiting for you all day."
