Chapter 1512 Marked for Death

K raised his hand, fingers twitching slightly as he turned to his subordinate. "Where's Emilio?"

"His handler called him away. With Mystic Prison in complete chaos, the man's furious. The punishment Mr. Blair will face..." The subordinate's voice trailed off ominously.

That ruthless bastard would never forgive Emilio's betrayal. Not after he'd helped Raymond and Selena, turning the entire island into a war zone.

K's mouth tightened into a thin line. "Find out what's happening to Emilio."

"Yes, sir."

They had to stop Emilio from continuing his interference, or Raymond and Selena would actually escape. K had already lost track of their exact location, and his men searching for Mario had come up empty—Selena wasn't with him.

He'd promised Mario he could have Selena, but Emilio's meddling had complicated everything. With other factions infiltrating the operation, even K was feeling the strain.

Unless that man contacted him.

As if summoned by his thoughts, his phone rang. A deep voice crackled through the speaker.

"Emilio gave Raymond the tunnel locations. The exit sits about fifty feet above sea level—prime territory for an accident."

K's eyebrow arched, a cold smile spreading across his face. So Emilio's handler knew exactly what his subordinate had done. Now that the life-saving tunnels had been compromised, what secrets did Mystic Prison have left?

"What about Emilio?" K asked.

"He's being disciplined."

The nature of that discipline remained unspoken.

The man, somewhere in his fifties, ended the call and listened to his aide's report.

"Mr. Blair has lost consciousness. Should we continue?"

If they finished the full punishment, death was almost certain.

"Continue." The man's voice held no mercy, his eyes glacial with intent. "He made his choice."

The aide bowed his head, saying nothing more.

The man entered the adjacent surveillance room, activating Mystic Prison's hidden monitoring system. Only he knew of these concealed cameras, which recorded every moment of the imprisoned woman's existence in comprehensive detail.

If Raymond were here, he would recognize her immediately—Octavia.

Over a thousand cameras lined the walls of Octavia's underground cell, capturing her every movement except for the minimal privacy afforded in the bathroom. She lived under constant observation.

The man's fingers traced the screen, his eyes burning with cold fury. Those fools had dared to breach his sanctuary—they deserved death.

A cruel smile twisted his lips as he activated the intercom. "Octavia."

His voice matched perfectly with the one that had spoken in the underground chamber—he was Octavia's captor.

Octavia sat motionless on her bed, blind and deaf to the world around her. But she could hear his voice through the specialized device implanted deep within her body.

The same Octavia who had shown no reaction to Raymond and Selena now lifted her head, turning it slowly in different directions. When no response came, she settled back against the wall, her expression vacant.

"Octavia, time to eat."

She remained silent, leaning against the cold stone. Soon, someone would bring her meal.

In the beginning, Octavia had fought back, begged for freedom. But after all these years in this sunless prison, she understood the futility. This was her life now—she would never escape, never see Selena again.

The prolonged isolation had stolen her ability to communicate. She could only manage simple sentences now, her language skills withered from disuse.

She knew people had recently visited the underground chamber, but countless times before, she had tried to escape, only to have hope crushed by despair. After each failed attempt, the man would mockingly update her on her escape count.

So far, it stood at exactly ten thousand.
