Chapter 1449 Mystic Prison

Selena and Raymond had spent the night at the fight club, making sure everything was calm in Silver Bay City before deciding to head out.

When Raymond had first taken Mario away from Stellaria, he had promised Ralph that he would uncover the research base.

It was because of this promise that Ralph had let him take Mario. Otherwise, no one would have been able to take Mario from Stellaria, even if it meant being branded a fugitive.

On the top floor of the villa at the fight club, Mario still couldn't quite believe it.

"Raymond, are you sure you want to take me with you?"

Raymond cuffed his hands inside the helicopter and shut the door.

"Damn it!" Mario's head hit something sharp, making him dizzy with pain.

He glanced at Raymond and saw that he and Selena were in another helicopter.

Finding Barbara and getting the antidote was the top priority now; Jason couldn't wait any longer.

And only by understanding BK could they further investigate the research base.

Mario had no communication devices on him, clearly indicating that Raymond wanted to keep him under close watch.

Mario stayed silent, just watching the ground get farther away.

In the other helicopter, Selena was assembling her gun.

She had searched online countless times about this place but found very little information.

It was a completely isolated trio of connected islands in the middle of the ocean, said to have formed thousands of years ago.

The place was somewhat similar to the underground fight club, except the fight club could still communicate with the outside world, but this place couldn't.

The place was called Mystic Prison. Over three hundred years ago, it was used to imprison the mentally ill.

It was said that everyone sent to Mystic Prison was mentally unstable.

About a hundred years ago, a massive fire broke out there, order was reestablished, and an entirely independent and isolated nation was established.

The original inhabitants were not allowed to leave the island or marry outsiders, and all trade with the outside world was controlled by four families.

Based on some clues from Clifton, this was all the information Selena had.

It was said that the communication network inside was separate and couldn't connect to the outside world. Moreover, no firearms were allowed inside; only the elite had access to them.

In summary, it was a completely backward place. Incoming planes had to land on the beach of the first island and undergo thorough inspections.

The three islands were connected, but only the innermost island housed the elite.

It was easy to get in, but getting out was a different story.

Selena and Raymond's helicopter landed on the outer edge of Mystic Prison, where the guards were allowed to carry guns.

She frowned as they even confiscated her knife.

Mario stood behind her, frowning.

"So, why are you guys coming to this place? Can't you see? The firearms are controlled by the four families, which means we're just ants they can crush at will!"

He wasn't wrong, which made Selena uneasy.

But she had a good idea why Barbara was hiding here.

Because the place was cut off from the outside world, it was a backward nation. If Barbara was hiding from someone, this was the perfect place.

She looked around and saw a very high, smooth wall, about a hundred feet tall. It was impossible to climb over it without help, which was why almost no one had escaped in hundreds of years.

There were some discussions about Mystic Prison online, but they weren't very popular. Most people thought it was a privately owned place, off-limits to outsiders.

Clearly, the existence of this place was beyond the understanding of ordinary people.

In this age of advanced technology, how could such a place still exist?
