Chapter 313 She Won't Back Down Today
Everyone figured Raymond would blow a fuse for Penny's bold demand.
Since Olivia was the one Raymond had a thing for, Selena figured she should keep things cool right now.
Olivia gently tugged on Raymond's sleeve, her voice a mix of pleading and sweetness. "Raymond, Sofia is the victim..."
Before she could finish, Raymond cut her off with a single word. "Apologize."
Olivia's face froze in an attitude of disbelief.
Everyone else stayed quiet, wondering if he meant what he had said.
Only Sofia, thinking Raymond was on her side, tearfully rubbed her eyes.
Sofia said, "Penny, did you hear that? Raymond wants you to apologize to me."
Was that it? Selena looked at Raymond, confused; she thought he was asking Sofia to apologize for a second.
The others also realized it was Penny who was supposed to apologize. They knew Penny was in for it today.
Raymond looked down and glanced at Sofia. "I want you to apologize."
That single sentence crushed Sofia's last bit of dignity.
Her face went pale, lips trembling. Sofia looked up at Raymond in disbelief.
Olivia was right there, yet he wanted her to apologize to that bitch Penny? Could it be that Penny and Raymond were really close?
Sofia wanted to throw a fit and shout, but with so many people around, if she lost it, the Stone family might be done for by tomorrow.
Olivia was also stunned. Raymond asking Sofia to apologize was a real hit to her pride.
Her hand at her side slowly clenched into a fist. Olivia had always been adaptable, so she put on a generous smile. "Indeed, Sofia, you owe Penny an apology. Maybe the bodyguard called the wrong name, but you staying quiet misled everyone."
With this, she cleverly shifted most of the blame onto the bodyguard, making Sofia just an accomplice at most.
Sofia's tears fell in big drops. It was bad enough that Raymond saw this, but now she had to apologize to that awful woman. But with Olivia saying so, she had no choice.
Olivia held significant sway in the Stone family; the whole family was counting on her to marry into the Montague family, officially entering the elite circles of Silver Bay City.
Sofia felt humiliated, gritting her teeth. After today, her reputation would be utterly ruined. It was all because of that bitch Penny!
She took a deep breath and slowly said, "I'm sorry."
Selena felt much better inside and a bit amazed at Raymond's fair attitude. She thought he would brush it off lightly because of Olivia.
Selena had completely forgotten about that passionate moment with Raymond last night. She even blamed her body's discomfort on falling off the bed.
Selena chuckled, looking at Sofia. "Miss Stone, I know you're not sincere, so there's no need to apologize."
Sofia's face turned red with anger. 'Damn it! Why did she say that after my apology?'
Olivia was also fuming beside her. If there was no need to apologize, why did she have to explain everything in front of Raymond?
Selena knew she had thoroughly earned their hatred. But she couldn't back down on this matter today.
As Selena lowered her head in thought, she felt a gaze on her. Following the gaze, she found it came from Raymond.
Dressed in a gray suit, Raymond exuded an aura so chilly that it kept everyone at bay. Even the slight curve of his thin lips carried traces of coldness.
She frowned again. Was it an illusion? Why did it feel like Raymond's emotions were more intense today than ever before?
