Chapter 1611 This Seems to Be the Person He Is Waiting For
Raymond's eyes met his countless times, and he had a gut feeling that this was the person he had been waiting for.
Calla raised her hand and ruffled his hair. "Maybe so."
"Dr. Griffin, don't you believe in him?"
"I believe in everyone, but I'm always let down."
Number 8's eyes dimmed instantly, and he began to absentmindedly rub the gemstone necklace around his neck.
Calla raised her hand again and continued to ruffle his hair. "But we won't always be disappointed. We'll get out of here, and you'll see your family."
Number 8's eyes lit up, and a pure smile spread across his face. "Yeah, see my family."
He couldn't remember what his family looked like. The more he tried to recall, the more chaotic his memories became.
But he knew someone had once held his hand tightly, he knew the origin of this gemstone, and he knew he had to leave this place to see his family.
His memory had been wiped once, and the memories of being brought here were long gone. All he could remember was the world inside the base.
Calla raised her hand again and pinched his ear. "If we don't go back now, they'll discover the connection point."
"If I go back now, they'll still find out. Dr. Griffin, can you take me back?"
This weapon was created by Calla, and every test subject had undergone countless experiments.
Calla always felt like she had forgotten something, something she was searching for. Maybe it was a person, someone she desperately wanted to protect.
It was this obsession that allowed her memories to gradually override the original memories of this body. It was also this obsession that allowed Christopher to survive the experiments back then.
And it was this same obsession that kept this eighteen-year-old boy alive.
Obsession was a strange thing, hard to explain.
In the central hall, people were still frantically searching for Test Subject 8, but then they saw Calla emerge from the core research lab, with Test Subject 8 bound by a chain in her hand.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and immediately locked the test subject back into the research box.
"Does this test subject only listen to Dr. Griffin?"
"Because it hasn't been assigned an owner yet. The higher-ups haven't decided who to give this weapon to."
"Dr. Griffin is really something. Isn't she afraid of him? He tore a few people apart right in front of her back then."
"Are you afraid of the knife in your hand?"
The researchers whispered among themselves. Calla stood outside the test box, her gaze sweeping around the room, but she didn't see Raymond.
Raymond had already returned to the core research lab and, through the ventilation duct, reached Manuel's location.
He held some lab drugs in his hand and heard voices below.
"Those eyes really make me want to gouge them out."
"Beautiful, Zaid. I don't know how to thank you this time."
Raymond peered through the gap and saw Zaid, 00, Atlas, and an older man.
"As long as you like it. I figured since you imprisoned Octavia, you'd be interested in her daughter."
Zaid stood up, a smile on his face. "I won't disturb you then."
He had originally intended for Atlas to come over, but he wanted to see the fun for himself.
A woman so similar to Selena indeed stirred his sadistic desires.
He suddenly understood why Manuel had imprisoned Octavia. He, too, wanted to imprison Selena, and this desire was growing stronger.
A smile tugged at his lips, and a different look flickered in his eyes.
