Chapter 131 Always Seducing People
Raymond, with a bandage on his hand, had just walked into the Montague Group when he bumped into Sofia.
Sofia, not as bold as before, just stared at his hand, looking worried. "Mr. Montague, what happened to your hand?"
Raymond frowned and brushed it off, "Got hurt."
Without another word, he headed to his office.
Sofia's face darkened. Just then, someone from reception came up, knocked on the door, and tried to enter the office.
Sofia quickly stopped them. "You're not senior staff. Do you have an appointment? You can't just go in."
The receptionist was quite pretty. After all, working at the Montague Group's reception required a standout appearance.
"Ms. Stone, someone sent a gift for Mr. Montague and asked me to deliver it," the receptionist replied.
Sofia's face grew even more displeased, and she snatched it away. "I'll take it. You go back to reception."
It was a bit insulting, but Sofia was used to being arrogant at the Montague Group, and no one usually dared to speak against her.
When senior staff passed by reception, they'd occasionally greet the receptionist with a smile.
Only Sofia, an ordinary employee, always looked down on people.
The receptionist dared not speak out, only explaining briefly, "It was sent by Mr. Montague's designer as compensation for the damage at the hotel last night."
Sofia's eyes widened in disbelief, "What hotel?"
The receptionist was startled by the sudden raised voice but felt a bit satisfied seeing Sofia's twisted expression.
In fact, she didn't know the specifics but deliberately said, "The designer spilled something in Mr. Montague's hotel suite, so she bought cufflinks as compensation. They must have been in the same suite last night."
Little did she know, her random guess was actually the truth.
Sofia was instantly furious, gritting her teeth, "That bitch! Always seducing people!"
She wanted to throw the cufflinks away, feeling they were dirty.
But she didn't dare to handle Raymond's things without permission, so she angrily turned and entered the CEO's office.
The receptionist sneered and went downstairs.
After entering, Sofia's face turned into a smile. "Mr. Montague, this is from Ms. Cooper, as compensation for last night at the hotel."
Sofia deliberately spoke ambiguously, hoping to make Raymond dislike Selena.
Raymond frowned, took the box, and saw the beautiful and expensive cufflinks.
Selena was now burdened with millions of dollars in debt, yet she still bought such things.
Sofia pursed her lips and continued, "But Ms. Cooper is a bit too outspoken. Next time, she shouldn't say so much in front of the reception, or rumors about you and her will spread throughout the Montague Group."
Raymond tossed the cufflinks aside, not seeming to care much for them.
"Mr. Montague, you and her really..." Sofia asked.
"It's work time now. If you can't figure out what you're here at the Montague Group for, go submit your resignation," Raymond said coldly.
Sofia's nose twisted in anger, and she trembled all over.
She gritted her teeth and walked out. As soon as the door closed, her face twisted with rage.
'That bitch Selena! Damn it!' she thought.
Raymond worked on some documents for a while, glanced at the cufflinks, and coldly tossed them into a corner drawer.
Just then, his phone buzzed. It was a message from Selena.
Selena: [Mr. Montague, did you receive the items?]
Raymond didn't reply.
Selena didn't expect him to respond. She turned off her phone and poured water for James, who was lying on the bed.
James looked very displeased and knocked the water out of her hand.
"Explain yourself. Why didn't you go to the Montague Family banquet? Alice said you got out of the car halfway after seeing Jacob. Are you still in contact with him?"
Last time, when Selena admitted she was still in contact with Brian, James was already very unhappy.
Now, knowing that Selena missed the Montague Family banquet because of Jacob, he was trembling with anger.
"Why are you here? You're gonna give me a heart attack!"
