Chapter 1457 Money Talks
Lyle wasn't even thinking about getting back at Selena; he was more worried about his manhood being damaged.
"Get me to the hospital! Now!"
He yelled, being helped out by others.
Selena sat down at a nearby desk, opened up a laptop, and started looking into how to buy out companies here.
She quickly found that the process was surprisingly simple—just throw money at it. It was nothing like the complicated procedures off the island.
In short, whoever had the money called the shots.
Most of the people who came from the outside world were desperate and broke. Someone like Selena, with billions of dollars on a single card, was unheard of.
Her eyebrows raised as she thought of a quick way to find Raymond—by becoming famous in this place.
She wasn't sure how closely this place was connected to BK. If BK controlled the entrance to Mystic Prison, they would have been targeted the day they arrived.
But Emilio's tattoo suggested that BK hadn't fully infiltrated Mystic Prison.
BK had spun a massive lie about the tattoos, making the students on the island revere them.
There was a knock on the office door, this time much more polite.
"Ms. Fair, right? The principal wants to see you."
The messenger was a woman in her forties. She glanced at Selena briefly before looking away coldly.
Selena stood up and went to the principal's office.
On the principal's desk was a drawing Selena had just done, proving in just a few minutes that she could take over the teaching position.
The principal, with white hair and glasses on a chain, looked very strict.
"Ms. Fair, your drawing is excellent," Warner said.
Selena was about to think the principal had a refined taste and wasn't here to scold her about Lyle.
But his next words caught her off guard.
"Ms. Fair, you might not know this, but our largest school building was donated by the Warner family. Lyle is their only son. Even if he's a bit of a troublemaker, he'll inherit the family fortune. The consequences of your kick might be quite severe."
The only son's manhood was injured—this was much more than a serious matter.
The principal tapped the drawing with his finger, his tone softening.
"Ms. Fair, offending the Warner family is unfortunate. Otherwise, with your talent, you could have quickly transferred to teach at the high school on the central island. You've ruined your own future."
Selena found it ironic. "So, a male high school student trying to rape a female teacher is legal here?"
"The Warner family can do whatever they want on the outer island. Unless Ms. Fair is wealthier than the Warner family, but if you were, you wouldn't be teaching here, would you? Sometimes, people just have to accept their fate."
Selena turned to leave. "Principal, I need three days off. After that, I'll take the teacher's exam for the central island. I want to teach at the high school there."
The principal frowned. Did she not understand what he was saying?
She was in a tough spot now; the Warner family wouldn't let her off easily.
Selena returned to her office, planning to start the process of buying out the Warner family's company online. But there was a commotion outside her office again, this time a sharp female voice.
"I want to see which bitch dared to mess with the Warner family!"
"Ursa, calm down. I heard this teacher is new."
"You all better help me. If she hurt Lyle, I'll kill her!"
A group of flashy female students approached the door. Selena didn't even look up, grabbing a broom instead.
"Get out."
Her presence was so strong, her expression so sharp, that the girls all took a step back.
Ursa pointed a finger, her tone vicious.
"You bitch, just wait! You hurt Lyle, you'll pay for it!"
She stormed forward, only to be met with a flying cup.
The office descended into chaos.
Selena looked up to see Emilio at the door.
She took a deep breath.
"Emilio, get them out. I have something urgent to do."
She was aggressively buying up shares of the Warner Group, pouring money into it like there was no tomorrow.
The soaring prices were unprecedented, and anyone thinking about retirement jumped at the chance to sell their shares to her.
In moments like this, Selena actually appreciated the ruthless logic of this world.
