Chapter 195 Caught Cheating
Raymond's brow twitched like crazy, and his heart felt like it got stung by a nasty bug. "What are you doing?"
Selena snapped awake at his voice and quickly apologized once she realized what was going on.
She scrambled to open the medical kit, searching for something useful.
Spotting the medical scissors, she sighed in relief, grabbed them, and tried to cut his clothes open.
But the clothes were stuck to his skin, and just looking at it made her wince.
"Mr. Montague, hang in there."
"Okay."
Raymond looked away from the glass in front of him and slowly closed his eyes.
Selena gritted her teeth and just tore the clothes open.
Raymond let out a muffled groan.
Selena worked fast, cutting all the fabric, then started disinfecting, stopping the bleeding, applying medicine, and pulling out the bandages.
It was her first time seeing such a bad injury, and it was on Raymond, so her fingers trembled a bit with nerves.
While wrapping the bandage, she had to get up to wrap it around Raymond's chest, her hand brushing against his chest and lower back.
Selena's breathing got a bit rapid from nerves, all of it landing on his shoulder.
Since she had to wrap many layers, she stayed in that position for several minutes, making her knees ache.
Raymond's brow twitched again. Just as he was about to ask Selena how much longer it would take, he felt a warm sensation on his shoulder.
Selena's foot had gone numb, causing her to lose balance, and her lips pressed right against his shoulder.
Raymond's eyelashes fluttered, his breathing quickened, and his voice got husky. "Penny, do you know what you're doing?"
Selena's face turned bright red with embarrassment. She quickly pulled away and kept wrapping the bandage. "Mr. Montague, I didn't mean to."
"Then, what about last night?" Raymond looked at the glass again, staring straight at Selena's face through it.
Was the kiss on the lips last night also something she didn't mean to do?
Since Raymond got back to the country, he and Selena had hooked up and kept running into each other.
Alex's words echoed in his ears. Could it be that all of this was deliberately arranged by Selena?
But Selena's usual demeanor was so indifferent. Even when she saw him wearing the cufflinks Olivia had given him, she showed no emotion, not like someone secretly in love with him.
Yet too many coincidences made it hard not to be suspicious.
Selena explained, "Mr. Montague, you were drunk last night and probably mistook me for someone else. You initiated that kiss."
After saying this, Selena seemed worried he might overthink, so she added, "You called me Olivia at the time. Honestly, it scared me."
With that, the room's intimate atmosphere vanished completely.
After all, it involved a third person.
Selena finished wrapping the last layer, breathed a sigh of relief, and grabbed a tissue to wipe the sweat from her palms.
She looked up at Raymond and said, "It's done, Mr. Montague, but it's best to go to the hospital. I'm not sure if my treatment is professional. If it gets infected, the recovery will be slow."
Raymond stood up, putting some distance between himself and Selena, intending to get some water.
Selena, thinking she had come to ask Raymond for help tonight, quickly went to pour the water. "Mr. Montague, I'll get it."
Her eagerness to please was clear and not fake.
For some reason, Raymond's anger faded a lot.
Selena brought the water, and it wasn't a good time to say she wanted to leave.
Her goal had been achieved, but now that Raymond was so seriously injured, what if he had a fever in the middle of the night?
John had left a message and walked away, clearly hoping Selena would stay to take care of Raymond.
But had John misunderstood something?
Selena asked, "Mr. Montague, what happened to your injury?"
It was so bad, it didn't look like a fight.
Did something happen with the Montague Family?
Raymond tried to lean his back against the chair, but halfway there, he straightened up with a frown and spoke lightly, "Got caught cheating and was beaten by William."
Selena was taking a sip from the cup, but hearing this, she almost choked.
